In this AU Xie Lian is the son of a disgraced businessman, and Feng Xin, formerly his bodyguard, is now the CEO of the new enterprise where Xie Lian starts working.

Xie Lian is convinced Feng Xin hates him for the way he had to go when the Xie family business went bankrupt. Little does he know, Feng Xin has been harboring romantic feelings for him since they were teens, no resentments.

It’s quite the revelation when he finds out about his mind-reading powers. And because this is Xie Lian we’re talking about, it happens when he trips and ends up falling on top of Feng Xin.

After I posted Cenizas en el Mar, a year ago, I knew I wanted to give them something happy, to let them live that wonderful dream they had, to share that precious moment together. This is sort of my atonement, but more than anything, this is just as personal as the fic was, a little piece infused with my own grief.

You never stop missing a person, and as long as you feel it, as long as they live in your memory, they’re not truly gone.

Some days may be tranquil, while others, out of nowhere, grief strikes and leaves you as vulnerable as the first time you felt those words ringing in your ears.

I’ve come to realize I like writing little stories about two things: Death, the unstoppable force of nature; and the ocean, mighty, alluring, unpredictable and cruel. In all honesty, they’re essentially the same.

I hope I let more things flow that way. It’s been a good way to channel it.
