It's November 22nd, 2005, and Microsoft is ambitious! The Xbox 360 was proof that Microsoft could compete with the more well-established gaming brands like Sony and Nintendo. Microsoft competed neck-at-neck with the Playstation 3 in sales, by offering a more capable gaming device at a reasonable entry price. Microsoft was on its high horse, and the media and gaming fans together watched as Sony had to acknowledge that Microsoft was a formidable competitor. However, on June 10th, 2013 at 9:30 AM EST, gaming fans around the world watched as Microsoft E3 presentation ruined all the goodwill that the brand had built. Withing the course of 90 minutes, loyal fans and indecisive customers were confused at the direction Microsoft was trying to take the console gaming industry and the Xbox brand. The company that pioneered online gaming for consoles, attempted to pioneer gaming into a digital future, and gamers vocally voiced their disappointment. Microsoft was not prepared for the backlash, now, as we jump to 2020 the policies that were once frowned upon is creating the console you actually want. Xbox vs PlayStation Exciting 2020 Line-Up Comparison

The dust has finally settled regarding the launch line up for the next-gen consoles (Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic taking place, the traditional E3 layout for game releases had to be altered. As a result of this, Sony and Microsoft are taking their sweet time, by drip-feeding information for the consoles set to launch during the 2020 Holiday. Sony revealed its "Sony Future of Gaming" event on June 11, 2020, after a one week delay from the Black Lives Matters movement. Sony promised that is Playstation 5 event will air at 1080P at 30 frames per second and a line-up of first party and third party exclusive games and additional third-party games that are not exclusives. At the end of the show was the first official revealing of the PlayStation 5, and fans were excited. Microsoft on the other hand, held their event "Xbox Game Showcase" on July 23, 2020, over one month later. Microsoft promised the most diverse lineup, lots of first and third-party exclusives, and amazing graphics and frame rates from their 12TF (Teraflops) console. 2019 Was Memorable! Here are 3 Things To Keep Doing In 2020

1. Memes and Gifs

In 2019, Memes are the bread and butter of social media. Can you believe the first real recognized digital meme came out in 1996? Remember baby cha-cha? As it stands right now, memes have dominated the internet. They have a wonderful way of normalizing out emotions and experiences with strangers whom we never met. Memes and GIFs are the current versions of the comic strips in our newspaper. They are our political cartoons that casually explain politics from whatever side you believe. Could you image how boring your day would be without having some type of meme to look at and laugh? The meme army was strong in 2019, and we should all join the meme army and make sure it is stronger than ever. Also, if anyone knows where the Meme factory is located, I would love to tour it.

2. Competition Among Companies

2019 was a great year, companies are not playing the waiting game with each other. This year brought some great competition among businesses in various sectors. Sometimes, they were blunt and direct with their marketing, while other times they kept the low blows beneath the table. It was great, and this encouraged us (the consumers) to get the best of what the industry had to offer. Let us give respect to one notable brawl that took place in 2019: We have the electrifying Tesla Cybertruck vs Ford F150. Realistically, this was Tesla poking fun at the Ford to upsell its upcoming Cybertruck. Tesla claimed that its new truck releasing in 2021 can pull an F150 uphill in a game of tug of war.

Immediately after the demonstration and the unveiling of the cyber truck, the internet went crazy. So many YouTube scientists came from under their shell to tell us how much of a lie that video was. In hopes of riding the hype, Ford jumped and tried to call Tesla out, and challenge them to redo the challenge. Tesla rebutted that the video was real, and they would be down for a rematch. Ford backed down, and Tesla walked away with its head up high! 2019 was awesome!

3. Embracing Businesses Diversity

If you log into social media or use any new app, you would think the world is heading towards the end of times. You would think that we are moving towards a repeat of the "Jim Crow" era, but that is wrong. More companies than ever are creating products that are more culturally and racially sensitive and diver. Let us look at Target for example. Target three years ago was predominantly a store where over 60 percent of its customers were mostly white. Not just white people, but young affluent white people based off of PYMNTS research. That is not the case in 2019 and moving forward. Another example is Amazon, Microsoft, and the big tech players. They have increased representations for more cultures within their leadership team, or development teams. That is a positive indication or the forward progress we are making.

The Strength of Diversity Though I could not locate the current statistics, there is some important information that shows how companies are getting more diverse in different ways. Using Walmart and Target, they have annually increased their marketing on African American products and Spanish products. These companies are also hiring more diverse talent across the board, which leads to more representation. 2019, was a year about improving diversity and 2020 will be the year we can see the results of that hard work. Agree with me, 2019 had a lot more ups than downs. Some of them were blatantly in your face, while others were not so obvious. Heat Check is Going to be Amazing!

Remember the good old days? Staying up late in the middle of the night only to be greeted by the most tempting infomercial you have ever seen? Remember hoping that you could buy the product only to figure out if it is actually as good as the commercial makes it appear to be? I remember, and I was crushed each time my jaw dropped seeing this new product being pushed as revolutionary and life-changing.

All of this has changed now. Possibly for the better! There is no need to wait until 2 in the morning to see what new products are coming. All you have to do is go down your facebook timeline and those products will be pushed right at you. You can not avoid them, they merge seamlessly with your timeline and the videos that they use are tempting and eye-catching. Even worse, they all have great reviews, making the products even more tempting than before. Realistically though, you can not blame these small businesses. Facebook has over 2.41 Billion monthly active users. There is literally no other way to get your product in front of all those eyes at once. More interestingly, there are 51.77 Million cable tv subscribers. The decision is fairly simple if you want to advertise. So where does Heat Check fit in? Heat check is going to explore the modern world of infomercials. I will use my Facebook account and become subjected to the world of infomercials. Gasping and shouting "Oos, and Ahs" as I purchase products that may or may not serve any purpose in my life. This is purely for the fun of validation. The commercials are so tempting that one just has to try it out. I'll be the one!

I've slowly started purchasing advertised products from Facebook and I am building a collection of those items to start using and reviewing them. I'll share those videos and typed reviews on Facebook and Youtube. Reason 1000 and 1 To Buy a Tesla Elon Musk is the man of many visions. He wants to start a colony on Mars. He wants to encourage car manufacturers to produce electric cars and wants to have the most efficient rockets. Today, he is planning on enabling Youtube and Netflix in your Tesla vehicles. Recently Tesla enabled Beach Buggy in their cars, allowing you to control it with the steering wheel. Recently Elon Musk is taking their car to the next level and allowing Youtube and Netflix to work while the car is parked. https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1155179932474957825?s=20 If you know anything about Elong Musk, he is on a fast track of creating fully autonomous vehicles. Auto Pilotis arguably the most advanced safety features in a car at the moment. However, they aren't at full self-driving yet. The cars they make right now are level 2 autonomy. This means they have some autonomy features but are not capable of self-driving in most conditions. Once Tesla does have full self-driving, then you can watch Youtube or Netflix on your way to work. The best seats to watch youtube, in my opinion, would have to be the Model 3. With the widescreen landscape display, the videos won't have to be cropped off. The Model S/X has a portrait screen that will more than likely shrink the video to fit in the display.

iPhone's Genius Screen Time Can Fix Nomophobia

Have you ever sat back and realized that you use your iPhone too much? I know from a personal standpoint, I am constantly on my phone. Sometimes, I'm just looking for notifications, other times I just want to pick up my phone because it is a habit. It does not matter what profession you are in, your phone is a major distraction. My life revolves around my phone and the only method to control my usage is the battery length. When the phone dies, I have no choice but to plug it in something and leave it alone to charge. Apple's Screen Time is a way to control that habit. Statistically speaking, Statista states that there are an estimated 4.57 billion mobile phone users. Of that total, 58 percent of men and 47 percent of females suffer from "nomophobia," and you might be one of them. I bet you have no idea what I just accused you of being. Well, nomophobia is the anxiety of losing your phone, running out of battery, or having no cellular network. I'm a victim, you are most likely too.

Accessing Screen Time Form The Setting Screen This is where Apple's latest iOS (as of 28 July 2019) comes in to play As of iOS 12, a built-in feature is introduced known as screen time. Initially, after updating my iPhone, Apple greeting me with a screen introducing screen time. Like everything else, I tapped next quickly and resumed using my phone as I always have been. However, one day something changed. I realized that my productivity level has been decreasing and my sterile excuse of a lifestyle was becoming dominant. Upon further self-examination, I realized that I was devoting too much time to my iPhone. I did some research and found out that my phone already had an app to help curb my addiction. So How Does This App Work? Screen Time is extremely simple. It generally falls in line with every other Apple software invented. Simplicity at its surface, with additional functions, buried deep in its core. I went to my phone settings and enabled screentime. I was encouraged to use downtime. This is a set period of the day where all notifications are disabled, and only selected apps can push notifications. Unfortunately, you cannot control it on an individualized daily time frame. In my career field, I am lucky if I make it home when I plan to. The app keeps track of everything you do on the phone and records the amount of time you spend in each category of apps. You can add limits on each category of the apps you have. Furthermore, the app will update you when you are getting close to your limit, so you can finish what you are doing. Once your time limit has been set or it is your downtime, your app is blocked from opening and notifications do not appear from that app category. Do not worry, the notification is still there, more so it is just hidden from plain sight. An hourglass shows up next to the app name so you understand that you have surpassed the limits you set on your iPhone.

Does it Work? For this app to work as intended, it requires the intrinsic motivation to break nomophobia. It is too simple to press the "ignore limit" button and resume what you were doing. I mean the app gives you a choice to remind in 15 minutes or ignore limit for today, but those are too easy to press. You press either-or and resume using the app like you never saw the notification. Even, if you enable the passcode it is still too simple. The ideal use of the app is most likely to monitor and restrict your child's app usage on their iPad or iPhone. Overall, through the screen time app, I was able to confirm my nomophobia. when I got locked out from my apps, I felt anxious as if I was missing something. if anything, I felt encouraged to use my phone more, so when my downtime comes up I already received my daily dose of my iPhone usage. I refuse to say screen time does not work, it may work. I just absorbed a different experience from it. On the good side, I have developed the habit of leaving my phone alone from 6 p.m to 8 p.m which allows me to focus on my work more. On the bad side, I saw statistics that crushed me. Based on the screen time utility, I have spent an average of 8 hours and 14 minutes per day on my iPhone. With a whopping 57 hours and 43 minutes per week spent on my phone. This equates to me working on my phone while at work (not efficient). I have more self-control toe establish so I can recoup my time and increase my productivity, but this is a step in the right direction.

Finally Sony's Reon Pocket, The Portable AC is Almost Here

March 2020 can not come soon enough. Sony is creating a way to fight global warming. The Sony Reon Pocket is designed as your portable AC (Air Conditioning) unit. If this works as advertised, then outdoor events have become cooler (pun intended). This little device is available on Sony's crowdfunding website. How Does the Reon Pocket work?

The way the device works is by using the Peltier Effect (Wikipedia got you on this one). In the simplest explanation, it is when heat is emitted or absorbed when an electric current passes across a junction between two materials. Due to the small size of the device, you insert it in a cut out in your shirt, and then the magic begins. A companion app is used to control the device and regulate the temperatures. Essentially, Sony's Reon Pocket will be able to cool you by 13°C (23°F), or heat you up by 8°C (14°F). This portable AC unit is designed to lat 90 continuous minutes and takes two hours to fully charge.

How the Thrilling Electric F-150 is Redefining Ford Tough

Ford is starting to generate hype on its Electric F-150. In March 2018 Ford released a statement regarding its foray into the electric vehicle segment. They plan to release 16 fully electric vehicles through 2021. Currently, Ford has zero fully electric cars, and they are guaranteed to lose a race if they are not running in it. I'm not saying it is impossible, but they have a tough road ahead of them. Producing 16 different fully electric cars is not an easy feat to achieve in 3 years. Ford was founded 116 years ago and has 111 years of manufacturing experience. However, this is very different than what they are used to. They need to source batteries and develop an efficient electric engine. If you think it is easy, ask Audi or Jaguar why their electric car can not keep up with Tesla. As of right now, the only real fully electric manufacturer is Tesla. They dominate the numbers in their vehicle segments. Furthermore, the longer these combustible engine manufacturers wait, the better Tesla will get. Don not fret, Ford may have two secret keys to enter the market with no password needed. The first is their relationship with electric manufacturer Rivian. Ford has dumped $500 Million into the development of Rivian electric technology, which leads us to the second key the Ford F-150. We all know that the F-150 is America's best selling vehicle for the past 42 years. This is the perfect door to open when developing an electric platform. Don't worry, Ford took the time to show you what instant torque can achieve with the all-electric F-150. The video above shows the truck towing over 1.2 million pounds. This should ease any fears of any towing restrictions with an electric truck. If anything, it should motivate you to take a step in supporting the electrification of trucks.

Ford Tough There are some important tidbits to point out. The first is that this is not 100% Ford engineering. That $500 Million dollars that went into Rivian is not showing the fruit of its labor. This truck is essentially a Rivian mule with an F150 shell. I do not doubt that Ford was involved in some part of the engineering, but this is mostly Rivian technology. The second, tidbit is that while this demo is impressive, it doesn't justify anything about electric trucks except torque. Towing this train required torque, but information like handling, range, and charging capability was not released. So many factors have to come together to create an all-around product and ford is one step closer. Let's not forget that technology does not wait for anyone. Elon Musk has talked about Tesla making an all-electric pickup truck. With their battery and engine technology, they could very well give Ford and Rivian a run for their money. In the order of subscribers, we have Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Video. As a hardware manufacturer and a software developer, they provide access to their service from in-house devices. Choices range from the FireHD tablets to the Firestick (popular) and the Fire TV. Amazon says that the service is available on hundreds of streaming media devices. I am willing to say that Amazon and Netflix probably support the same amount of devices. There won't be any issues finding a device to watch your Prime Video content. Variety of Contents Amazon has taken a Netflix like approach to content variety. On top of producing their own content, they host other content from various different sources. Amazon is unique because, on top of a Prime subscription, they work as a hub for your streaming services. You can merge your HBO, Showtime, Starz, and plenty more with your subscription to Prime Video as channels. The downfall is that you have to pay for each additional "channel." Flexibility of Devices Hulu was founded on October 29, 2007. The service was originally launched with a focus on having access to cable shows. In 2010 Hulu added the option called Hulu Plus. This service provided undelayed access to new show episodes and full seasons of the shows available to stream. Overtime, Hulu has evolved to add movies and live tv. Hulu is now owned by Disney and will operate as a bridge to Disney+ (future streaming service) and ESPN+. Hulu falls under the same device category as Netflix. If you can connect your device online, more than likely you can watch Hulu. The biggest drawback for Hulu (as Netflix lower-tier plan) is that you can only stream your show on one device at a time. However, unlike Netflix single stream Hulu offers HD on their basic plan. In addition, Hulu does not offer offline viewing of your content. Variety of Content Hulu contains a variety of contents. If you love cable tv shows, or local networks primetime shows Hulu has you covered. To name a few notable partners, Hulu has Bravo, E!, Fox, NFL Network, and Syfy (full list). They maintain an up to date library of shows, and they are available for streaming at any time. Due to competition, Hulu is suffering the same way that Netflix is suffering. A lot of content providers are pulling their shows from Hulu to launch their own service. Long termwise, Hulu and Netflix are holding the short end of the stick. Unlike Netflix though, Hulu is not pushing the same amount of money towards original content. Unless a specific show is on Hulu that you like, their choices are not as vast as Netflix or Amazon. Yet, they do allow you to merge your HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, and Starz like Amazon.

Bright, Colorful, and Beautiful Layout Ease of Access Signing up for Hulu is as simple as Netflix or Amazon. They also redirect you to using a website to sign up for the service. They have a simple layout that prioritizing one show at a time on the home screen, under Hulu Picks. A simple swipe up gesture reveals more shows (one at a time) under the Hulu Picks section. Of course, those shows are the Hulu original shows, then a few more swipes will have suggestions from other networks. A swipe to the left with show another section with shows. This layout does require more work to see the options they have. While the app is not slow by any means on any device, it does require more work. The layout requires more work to discover new shows. To see a list of shows available you have to either already made a list of your choices or start taping all over the place. In terms of design though, it is a very beautiful app to look at. Pricing Hulu pricing is not complicated at all. I would say the pricing structure is the simplest of the two, and the most affordable by the base price to features. Overall

In my opinion, all three plans provide enough of a variety and differences to justify their existence. Netflix is slowly becoming known for their original content. They specialize in targetting modern topics and bringing them to light. You can not go wrong with a Netflix subscription, their library is as diverse as every. However, they can only be valuable if they can keep churning out original content in high quality. Amazon subscription is a hard sell. While they do have Emmy winning contents, the choices are not as vast as Netflix's. The ability to have premium channels from HBO and more creates a bubble of simplicity. However, the Prime Video service is valuable as an Amazon Prime subscriber. Individually subscribing to Prime Video is a tough sell, as they need more content. Hulu is by far the cheapest most affordable plan compared to the other streaming apps. That affordable plan does include key restrictions such as having only one stream at a time and commercial interruptions. They have more content available than Amazon, but much less than Netflix. With Disney at the helm of Hulu, they are headed towards a collision course with Disney's own service that is launching in 2019. Overall, out of all the streaming apps, my recommendation goes to Netflix. Once Disney's service launches with all their movies, then the game may be different. Read the full article

At the beginning of time, cockroaches were there and we already hated them. At this current time, they are still here and we still hate them. We already knew that cockroaches can survive a nuclear bomb. Their bodies can resist high levels of radioactive energy, but it was okay. There was a weapon stored in a convenient location. This was the end all be all for any roach that comes across your floor and wall.

Today a nuclear bomb dropped on the world. Cockroaches are wasting your money. The insecticides you are buying are not going to work anymore. Go back to Walmart or Target an get your refund because that product is no longer going to work as intended.

A scientist from Purdue University exposed German cockroaches to different insecticides. The results mirror the plot of the worst cockroach move you could think of. Furthermore, the roaches are developing resistance to multiple classes of insecticides. As expected, they are passing their resistance to their offspring. As one group of roaches becomes resistant to one class of insecticide, their offspring will develop resistance to another one. Sony Reneges and Allows EA Access on PlayStation 4

Sony has finally, gave in and has allowed EA Access on the PlayStation 4. On July 24th you can finally subscribe to EA Access. If you did not know, EA Access is a subscription service that enables you to play all the games you'd like for a flat rate. There is good value to the service, especially if you are a gamer who doesn't mind waiting to play a game. Some notable inclusions are the Mass Effect Series, Battlefield Series, Burnout Paradise Remastered, Madden 19, and NHL 19. Furthermore, a 10% discount is given to all game purchases from EA.

10 Hours of game play for new released titles The fee is $4.99 USD per month, or annually for $29.99 USD. It is already stated that if you are a current Xbox subscriber, you will have to purchase another subscription to EA Access. Ironically, this service has been available on the Xbox One for almost five years.

There was a time when Sony was riding their high horse and released a statement dismissing the service. They did not believe that it was a good value to their customers. No reason was stated from Sony why it took five years to provide options to their customers. In the age of increasing computer capabilities, AI (Artificial Intelligence) is opening the door to good and bad things. DeepNude is a new AI powered app that can create nudes of any women with the click of a button.

DeepNude Icon First, there are no complex requirements from the user of the app. All the user has to do is feed the image into the program. Then with the click of one button a nude image is generated of that unsuspecting individual. Unfortunately, there is no restrictions of where the image has to come from or who someone chooses to be their target.

Have You Seen sample results The resulting image that is generated comes out in a low quality format. However, there is an option to upgrade to a premium version that cost $99.00 USD. Withe high quality result, you can kind of decipher the difference, however with the low quality results, it is actually a little bit harder.

The Watermark to Identify the Fake Both the free version and the $99.00 USD premium version insert a watermark over the face of the individual that says "Fake" to warn the viewer that the image is fake. However, it is a watermark, and an individual with basic image editing skills can remove it. At that point it is left to the viewer to figure out if this is a real image or not. Distinctively, this app only works on females. A male version is in the works, with no expected release date announced. Furthermore DeepNude app is currently not available to download at the time of this writing. The website server were overloaded dude to the increase of page visits.

There are risks involved

Overall, with any "deepfake" program there are risks involved. This is a tool that can be used to shame, harass, and target women. It is already a common issue that people are "slut shamming" other people online by leaking their pictures.
