NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING, could have prepared me for Act II. I’m glad we got that break between episodes. Those three episodes were insane.

I absolutely loved Season 3 of the Bad Batch, but I am baffled as to why we didn’t get to see more of the Sith Chamber in The Vault.

This is genuinely such an interesting and unsettling location, and we all know *exactly* what is happening in here. I just wish we actually got to see more of it.

Miraculous London Review (Part 5, Final)
Marinette had a lot going on this episode, so I’m going to talk about her in three parts.
Civilian Marinette’s screen time was mostly limited to her bedroom. When she was sleeping after Re-Creation, repairing the Miraculous, welcoming Adrien home with Nathalie, etc. I’m interested in what Marinette meant when she said when she was “giving the Miraculous a few new features” when she was transforming them back. It was very heartwarming to see Marinette with all of the Kwamis again.
Bug Noire’s time in the past with Nathalie and Kagami was definitely more important. Her and Nathalie discussing the best way to break the news, consoling each other after Gabriel’s wish, etc. I especially enjoyed the scene of her freeing Kagami and Adrien and breaking the news as best she could given the circumstances. (Also why did they animate Adrien doing the Shinji Chair Pose? 😭) I would say I understand Marinette’s reasoning for the lie. If she is honest, then she’s doing a good thing by telling the truth about who Monarch really was. But if she does, Nathalie goes to jail and Adrien doesn’t have any real family besides his cousin and Aunt. (Wait…)
Chronobug / Ladybug is my last piece. Contrary to discussion, Chronobug isn’t just the luck charm suit! The black goes up the sides of her torso and up the bottoms of her arms more than the Lucky Charm suit does. I quite like the yellow, and how it flowed in dark areas like that Facility in London and Marinette’s bedroom. I think the yellow spots instead of a mix of black and yellow was a better choice. I’m always a sucker for a new transformation, and I’m satisfied with this as our last one for the original animation.
Going forth, I’d like to mention a few things. One, yes I did see the tease of season 6 at the end, and I’m very excited for it. I personally do not mind the new animation style (I don’t think I’ll miss the old one as I definitely feel it had limitations and had varying quality at times.) The new animation is something I feel everyone should be open-minded about until we see the new season. (Trailers can be deceiving in terms of quality!) Miraculous London is definitely the end of an Era, seeing the old animation off and truly concluding the original arc of the show by giving us a few extra pieces. Can’t wait to discuss Season 6 when it comes out, as I think I’ll be reviewing the episodes as they come out.
Also, where the heck was Felix??? This special was barely even in London!

Miraculous London Review (Part 4)
Ah, the villains. Why didn’t I just go over them in Lila’s Part? I think it’s because these two of her akumatized forms feel very distinct from her as a civilian. I’ll go over Spectral Looter first because I have much less to say about her. Her power set is cool, and I love how she hovered through the wall into Marinette’s room like a ghost. And that little taunting wave she did before leaving the room and making her wish? I loved that. This form I think Lila was less careful with, because she already knew who Ladybug was at this point, and all she had to do was steal jewelry from a sleeping teenager. That’s at least my justification for why she was laughing when Chronobug couldn’t even hit her. Now onto Timestalker.
Oh my gosh, this is the absolute coolest Akumatized villain in Miraculous, and I’ll die on that hill. Her power set is cool enough, using her phone to select how far back in time she’s going to go, and using it as a recall device for once she’s completed the mission. The multiple wristwatch backups in case one is compromised is really clever, and I found Timestalker overall much more creepy and interesting to watch in comparison to Spectral Looter. The scenes of her in the rooms just out of sight while she writes down the details is pretty cool. And the way the phone m’s recall sets off an alarm whenever she’s returning or has been compromised felt really sinister to me, like it’s alerting your that she’s on her way, and things are about to get serious. I loved how Lila utilized one of her Akumas for multiple Akumatization, and how she used practical planning in conjunction with the magic powers of the Butterfly Miraculous. I can’t wait to see what her other villains will be like going forward.
Next and last will be Chronobug.

Miraculous London Review (Part 3)
Bunnyx (15 Present Day) got the best development in this episode since she became the Rabbit Holder. She’s taken after her older self a lot, and I loved his supportive she was of Marinette during this episode, and how much she was aware of all that was happening in the Burrow. The scenes of her and Marinette going through the different spots in time, working together on a solution, they were a great duo that I hope indicates big things for Alix going forward. (Please don’t just stay in the Burrow for all of Season 6)
Also, 70-Year Old Granny Bunnyx was my favorite one-off character. This is the last new character we received in this animation style besides Lila’s new identity and her akumatized forms, and Chronobug. Her calling her younger selves “Girls” like she’s watching her granddaughters was really sweet to me. Next up will either be Chronobug or Lila’s Akumatized Forms.

Miraculous London Review (Part 2)
Nathalie definitely surprised me the most out of everyone in this episode. Her shock that Gabriel wished to save her was unexpected, and I was happy to see ho she comforted Marinette after she explained how she couldn’t stop Monarch. Her caring and compassions was actually the complete opposite of what I was expecting. Given how Nathalie told her just a few hours before to stop Monarch at all costs, I would have expected her to be more upset. And after she frees the Kwamis, it was very interesting to see how Nathalie was ready to admit everything and go tho jail for what she had done as Gabriel’s accomplice. (I also don’t think she has directly admitted that she as Mayura to Marinette, at least not by name.) Her reaction of “I’m not his mother” felt very shameful, like Nathalie is afraid to take Emilie’s place and doesn’t think herself fit to be a proper mother to Adrien after what she’s done. In conclusion, I like the direction Nathalie is headed. A foster parent trying to do her best to make amends for her mistakes. I do think she’ll be the one to break the truth to Adrien.
Also, I love how the first thing she did after the wish was to grab her crossbow and repel down the elevator shaft in case Gabriel wasn’t dead. Bunnyx is up next.

Miraculous World London Review (Part 1)
Despite her limited screen time, Lila had to be my favorite part of the London special. This new disguise is in my opinion the best looking out of all the versions we’ve seen (Cerise, Lila, Iris). And this pose at the endcard?! She looks so sinister in this outfit, and I think it would be a great civilian form for her going forward. Given how many disguises she’s sported, I’m assuming that we will see this one again. Either she wears this permanently as her civilian identity at school, or she wears this disguise specifically when she’s transforming into Hawkmoth, in case her cover is blown and she transforms back, just to throw the heroes off.
I’ll probably go over Nathalie in my next post.

So it looks like we will have two villains in Miraculous World: London. I originally assumed that they were the same, but they’ve both got distinct designs differences. There’s the first one, who I’m simply calling Time Guy ™. And then there’s the second, who I’m called Ghost Guy ™.
Ghost Guy’s power seems to allow the to make themselves intangible so that they can pass through objects, and sink into the floor. They appear a few times in the two trailers we got: Once delivering a mysterious notebook with Ladybug’s identity in it to Cerise/Lila’s lair, and a second time in Marinette’s bedroom, stealing all of the miraculous she had from the looks of it, and putting them on.
Now for Time Guy. He seems to be able to time travel at will, and he is seen twice as well. Once in the Agreste Repository, where he vanished before discovery and later fights Chronobug, and a second time where he dodged Chronobug trying to grab him through the Burrow. It feels safe to assume that they’re both akumatized, and are either working for Cerise/Lila, or wish to aid her. Giving her Ladybug’s identity seems like a pretty obvious way to assist her, but I’m unsure why Ghost Guy is attempting to steal all of the reforged Miraculous, as they’re pretty much useless without Gabe’s tech.
Also, Nooroo is talking to someone in the trailer, and looks pretty shocked when one of them appears, so I don’t think Lila Akumatized them. They definitely seem to be from the future. Regardless of who they are, I’m very excited to see them and what their end goal is in the special. We are so back.

I needed to post this because it’s making me laugh so bad. So this week I discovered that there are two characters in Miraculous, who both made their debuts in Season 1. Both are named Vincent, both are photographers, and they aren’t related in any way. One is Adrien’s photographer who takes photos for his modeling work, and the other is a stalker who takes photos of Jagged Stone. And the fucking best part is that Matthew Mercer voices BOTH OF THEM. Two guys with the same name and job who aren’t related in any way, with the same voice actor. Is this like a Shrek Rumpelstiltskin situation where there are two separate models for the same character? Are these two supposed to be the same character? I’m genuinely so confused and I also think it’s the funniest thing ever.

So I was rewatching Lloyd’s visions to prepare for Part 2 (whenever that may release) and I noticed something about this sword that Beatrix destroys.
(Possible Spoilers Ahead!)
Given that one of the leaked episode titles for Season 2 Part 2 is titled “The Shattering Sword”, I have a feeling that this vision is not only important for what’s to come, but that it ties into events after this season (Post Source Tournament). If you look at this sword, it bears a striking resemblance to that crystalized golden weapon piece we got from Lego in 2022. So this sword that Beatrix destroys likely teases something for Ninjago in 2025/Dragons Rising Season 3. This sword doesn’t really match any current artifact we’ve seen, and definitely not the mallet and gong of shattering. I’m curious as to when Beatrix will make her return, as we definitely haven’t seen the last of her yet. We’re likely going to get this mysterious sword in a set at some point, and I’m sure it’s got some important story significance.

Had the most bizarre dream last night that Strange Aeons had broken into a school during summer break and had invited her viewers there to watch her review Onision’ 5th book. It was such a fun experience and things kept going wrong like Strange not knowing how to use the auditorium’s microphones, confusing details from the 5th book with the past 4, accidentally breaking a window, things like that.
The only detail about the book I really remember is that most of it took place on a plane for some reason.
Why she chose to break into a public school is beyond me but I enjoyed the venue all the same.

I’m not ready, and that’s the worst part. I can’t wait to see how this all ends, yet I’m terrified because we might lose so many of these characters we’ve come to know. I’ve been showing my roommate all of Clone Wars and The Bad Batch, and we are fully caught up so that he and I will be going into this episode blind together. Three days left.
