Weird dance’ before sex attack on boy: court
A 46-year-old social media influencer accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old was caught on camera rubbing her bum and twerking while dancing in front of him.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual intercourse with a child under 16 years old.
On Monday, the NSW District Court was shown a video of her dancing in front of the teen just hours before she climbed into bed with him on an evening in mid-2021.
The woman is wearing patterned blue tights and a black top and looking directly at the camera as she sways to the music and flips her hair.
The court heard the 14-year-old was holding the camera for what he later described as the “weird sexual” dance.
The influencer can be seen turning away from the camera and rubbing circles on her bum with her hand before twerking while looking back at the teen.
When asked by crown prosecutor Emma Blizard whether she was dancing in a sexual manner, the influencer replied it was “just like any Beyonce video clip” and “most dancing is sexual”.
She told the jury the video was “extremely embarrassing” and she felt “very betrayed” months later when she found it.
The court heard she’d consumed up to one and a half bottles of wine and was “very down” when she climbed into bed with the teen two hours later.
The influencer said the teen initiated a “broken” kiss which she said “wasn’t non-stop French kissing” and then “rolled on top” of her.
The 46-year-old is accused of undressing the teen and engaging in oral and penetrative sex with him, but she maintains she ended the “awkward” kiss and left.
In a phone call recorded by police in July 2022, the woman told the teen she felt “really close” to him Read more

Who has the edge between Springboks and All Blacks? Ox Nche is a huge hit It’s only fair that all South Africans know how to spell Retshegofaditswe and how to pronounce it. Here’s the man himself to lend a hand. It’s not really rocket science either, so there’s no excuse since there are only 16 letters in the name anyway. RWC 1995: Madiba Magic! POLLARD STEERS SPRINGBOKS TO A DATE WITH NEW ZEALAND There’s also a massive case for Pollard starting that final. Of course, there is. Just look what he produced last night, and what he managed four years ago in Japan. He showed his priceless value off the bench against England, scoring exactly half of South Africa’s 16 points, including a gobsmackingly cool penalty from around 50 metres to ultimately win the game. In 2019, the ice-cold Pollard kicked 22 of South Africa’s 32 points against England in Yokohama, including six out of eight penalties and two conversions from two attempts. This man really does have what it takes on the grandest occasions. What we’ve also seen is that Springbok management isn’t shy to make tough calls for the good of the team. If Libbok starts the final, Pollard is an absolutely sensational get-out-of-jail-free card. [ad_1] Warwick Smith/StuffRangiora Ave is one of the streets that will lose its bus stops when a sleeker, quicker and more direct service starts in February.Concerns are mounting that Palmerston North’s new bus service, designed to be faster, more frequent and easy to understand, will leave some older people behind. City resident Robyn Douglas said older parts of the city, such as Highbury, Awapuni and Roslyn, were losing their bus services from February. Passengers would have to walk an extra distance beyond the range of many older people to find bus stops on the new arterial routes. “More frequent buses, but with many fewer streets and bus stops much further apart, will benefit some but truly handicap others,” she said. Rangiora Ave was at the heart of a community that would lose its route. People would have to walk to stops on Featherston St or Main St. Douglas said she had a friend in that area who was heavily reliant on catching a bus and who was distressed that a lifeline would be taken away. She said decisions about the new service seemed to have been made without regard for people who were older and less able, making the bus stops out of reach for many. Marian Dean, a manager for Age Concern Palmerston North and Districts, said the Horizons Regional Council had done some good work in responding to calls for better bus services, such as to Feilding and the airport. She said the council had a responsibility to consider the needs of people who were elderly, disabled or unable to afford other forms of transport. That was not achieved by taking buses out of Roslyn, Highbury and Awapuni, she said. While some people might qualify for the Total Mobility scheme that subsidised taxi rides, it was still more expensive than riding a bus. “I think the impact has not been truly understood by bus passengers, especially older users.”Warwick Smith/StuffRangiora Ave residents will have to walk further to find a bus when the new service rolls out in Palmerston North in February. Horizons transport manager Mark Read said the new bus service was designed to encourage people out of cars and onto buses, rather than being largely for people without cars. Comprehensive public consultation about the new routes took place in August 2021, with 571 submissions received. The majority favoured a proposed option close to the final plan, with routes on key, well-developed corridors rather than “meandering through the suburbs”. Read said there would be improvements specifically designed to make catching a bus easier for elderly and low-income people. New bus stops and shelters would be better, there would be concession fares when the new service started, and the electric buses would be more comfortable. “These changes also mean low-income people have so many more options for getting around the city and not having a car is no longer a huge disadvantage.” Families could save money by using the buses more and running their cars less. “Overall, the new service will be useful to so many in our community and is a step-change from being a service that is designed to largely be useful to those who have no other options.” Read said there would always be positive and negative effects from any change. “In general, we have followed through with what the majority told us they wanted – a simple, easy to understand network that is fast and efficient.” Dean would be speaking to the regional council’s passenger transport committee on November 13.

[ad_1] It was Matt Peck’s first season of field work in the archipelago of Haida Gwaii when he found himself on a rocky island overflowing with oystercatchers, thousands of the orange-billed seabirds trilling and squawking in a riot of life.As the researchers counted eggs on the islet off Canada’s west coast, they discovered an odd nest of twigs and grass nestled in the rocks. The team launched into a debate over which species of bird it could have housed.“You get so excited about what it could be. But after a couple minutes, we realised what the nest was,” said Peck, a researcher with the Laskeek Bay Conservation Society. “It just hit so hard and my heart dropped.”The nest belonged to a rat, signalling the arrival of a species that has overrun nearby islands in recent decades and killed millions of birds. For a moment, the researchers considered hurling the nest into the ocean below.“These islands are such a beautiful, inspiring place. And some of them were so special because they’re supposed to the last places in Haida Gwaii free of invasive species. You just felt for all these birds because you knew what was coming – and it was devastating.”The 150 islands of Haida Gwaii (“Islands of the People” in the Haida language) are under relentless attack by waves of invasive species, which threaten to upend a delicate ecosystem and erode the rich wildlife of the region.The scourge of invasives is a global problem costing $423bn (£350bn) a year, but as local people work to fend off the intruders, the debate over their eradication raises larger questions about how ecosystems adapt over generations.The archipelago, which the Indigenous Haida people say resembles a bear’s canine, was formed by successive volcanic upheavals. Geologists believe some of it was spared the most recent ice age, preserving several species that now exist only here: the largest black bears on the planet, and diverse subspecies of bats, ermine and otters.But the rich genetic diversity is also increasingly being exposed to new predators, against which its millions of endemic birds, eelgrasses, berries and trees have no defence.On nearby Lyell Island, also known as Athlii Gwaii, 30,000 pairs of ancient murrelets, a species of auk, once nested on a single rocky outcrop.But rats got to the population, devouring eggs and chicks. Now, only a handful remain – an “unfathomable” decrease, says Peck.“People used to talk about how the sky would turn black when millions of ancient murrelets returned to their nesting grounds,” he says. “That experience is gone.”With the threat of rain hanging overhead, Bobby Parnell eases a skiff ashore outside the town of Daajing Giids.Their haul is pulsating inside two plastic bins: more than 1,000 European green crabs, also known as shore crabs, drawn from a single bay.Introduced to California more than three decades ago, the invasive and ruthless crustacean has been moving northward in recent years, devastating beds of clams and eelgrass ecosystems – a key source of shelter for young fish.In 2020, the crabs were spotted in Haida Gwaii. Each year, the haul from locals exposes the tremendous speed of their takeover. Last year, about 30,000 were pulled from the ocean. This year, with the season not yet wrapped, more than 200,000 have been trapped. “It’s devastating,” Parnell says.The crabs have also been spotted more than a mile up the Tlell River, an important salmon spawning ground, where the crustacea could put a vital food source – and keystone species – at risk. The Council of the Haida Nation, which governs the region, has issued hundreds of contracts to cull crabs, which are then frozen and crushed into fertiliser.“The reality is, we’re three years into the crabs being here and we haven’t yet figured it out,” says Niisii Guujaaw, a marine-management planner with the Haida Nation.Despite the urgent, war-like mobilisation, local people worry the battle is underfunded and too late. “It feels hopeless. Sometimes when I’m out trapping crab, I look around the bay and see how large it is – and I know those crabs are everywhere,” says Tyler Bellis, a forester and former Haida Nation council member.For many Haida, the way invasive species destroy ecosystems echoes other ways in which their lands have been made deeply vulnerable to outside forces. Smallpox outbreaks at the end of the 18th century took the population from about 30,000 to fewer than 600. And over generations, the land and waterways have been ravaged by the mechanisms of colonisation – through logging, mining, fishing and whaling.No animal captures the devastation – and complexities – of invasive species like the blacktail deer. Introduced to Haida Gwaii as a food source by Europeans from 1878, there are now nearly 200,000 roaming the islands.The islands are unique … so it’s really heartbreaking to see these invasive forces come in and destroy so muchTyler Bellis, foresterThey have no true predators – the bears are largely uninterested in them, having adapted to a marine diet – and so the deer overgraze the land with little resistance. Many prized medicinal plants that grow in the understory have disappeared.The deer have a particular appetite for western red cedar saplings, known as the “tree of life” in Haida culture. As a result, on many islands, no new cedars have grown in the wild for generations.Over recent decades, tourists have been drawn in by the forests upholstered in thick green mosses that give the illusion of rich biodiversity. But experts say these forests are in fact barren wastelands. The understory – once so thick it was difficult to traverse – has disappeared.In 2018, Parks Canada, the government agency managing conservation areas, and the Haida community embarked on Llgaay gwii sdiihlda (“restoring balance”), using sharpshooters and culls to eradicate deer on islands in the Gwaii Haanas nature reserve. A Sitka black-tailed deer on Graham Island. With no natural predators, there are now 200,000 of them in the reserve Efforts to eradicate the deer, however, have brought mixed emotions from local people, underscoring how deer are now enmeshed within Haida Gwaii.“When the Haida were down to only 600 people, when they were on the verge of going extinct, having a good food was invaluable,” said Bellis. “For a people that historically harvested primarily from the sea, deer have been a huge food source for the Haida, to the point that they’ve grown into a part of our culture.”Bellis sees families bringing their children on to the land, learning to hunt for the first time. But he has also seen first-hand the destruction wrought by deer.“And I get that not every invasive species is intentionally put here. But as Haida, who have already seen so much loss, it really stings,” he says.“The islands are unique, and what animals got here – or have stayed here – are just so special. And so it’s really heartbreaking to see these outside invasive forces come in and destroy so much of that.”Find more age of extinction coverage here, and follow biodiversity reporters Phoebe Weston and Patrick Greenfield on X (formerly known as Twitter) for all the latest news and features

She also shared a copy of her resignation letter on her Twitter handle and tagged BJP national president JP Nadda and Tamil Nadu BJP.In a statement, the actress mentioned that, despite the party reneging at the last minute on its assurance to provide her with a ticket for the 2021 assembly polls in the state, she had remained committed to the BJP.She alleged that a particular individual "has swindled me out of my money, property, and documents.""I have worked my entire life to ensure financial security at this age and to provide for my daughter's future. I am at the point where my daughter and I should have been settled, safe, and secure. Yet, to my horror, I recently discovered that Mr C Alagappan had swindled me out of my money, property, and documents. Mr Alagappan approached me around 20 years ago, taking advantage of my vulnerability and isolation as an orphan who had lost both my parents. Additionally, I was a single mother with an infant child. He ingratiated himself and his family into my life under the guise of a caring elder person. It was in this vulnerable situation around 20 years ago that I entrusted him with the sale and documents of several of my lands. Only recently did I discover that he had defrauded me, all while pretending to welcome me and my daughter as a part of his family," she said.Tadimalla further stated that she had filed a series of complaints, placing her complete trust in the chief minister, the police department, and the judicial system. However, she found that the process had been inexplicably dragging on.Even after 25 years of steadfast loyalty to the Party, the actress expressed, "It is shattering to realize that there is a complete lack of support and, moreover, that several senior members of the BJP have been enabling Mr. Alagappan to evade justice and remain in hiding for the past 40 days, even after the FIRs have been filed."Watch Breaking: BJP's star actor-politician Gautami Tadimalla quits BJP, citing lack of support!(function(f, b, e, v, n, t, s) )( window, document, 'script', );

[ad_1] NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles! Move over, Maverick. AI software can land a plane on a carrier deck better than you. Over 5,000 men and women crew each of America’s 11 aircraft carriers, but the U.S. Navy’s counting on AI to help them fight China. AI will bring carrier planes in for landings, fly unmanned tankers with fuel for combat planes, and even analyze the bug juice in the chow line. Night carrier landings are dangerous feats of combat aviation. Americans think of the "Top Gun" movies starring Tom Cruise as Maverick, an intrepid Navy pilot who can land a 32,000-lb. F/A-18EF Superhornet on a 90,000-ton aircraft carrier in night, rain, wind and pitching seas. NSA ANNOUNCES NEW ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE SECURITY CENTER: 'DESPERATELY NEEDED'Now the Navy has found out AI is a big, big help in bringing aircraft aboard. In real life, a form of AI called Precision Landing Mode has changed the art of carrier landings into science. The aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford is on station near Israel in the Mediterranean Sea. FILE: The Ford passes on its way to the Oslo Fjord, at Drobak, Norway, on May 24, 2023. (Terje Pedersen/NTB Scanpix via AP)As you know, CVN-78, the USS Gerald R. Ford, is in the eastern Mediterranean deterring Iran (and others) during Israel’s security crisis over Gaza. Previously, the Ford was the first aircraft carrier to try out AI for Precision Landing Mode on the newest, young Navy pilots. Although the new pilots were fully trained, the final step of completing several landings on the aircraft carrier is exceptionally difficult. "You’ll see the white knuckles, the shaky knees, and you can see the expression on the face of somebody who’s just landed on an aircraft carrier at night for the first time," said Capt. Dan Catlin, the commanding officer of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 106, told U.S. Naval Institute News during the 2021 test. According to Catlin, the final seconds of a carrier landing required pilots to make about 300 separate adjustments to the plane’s flight path. Engine power, angle of attack, position to centerline, you name it. With the AI in the Precision Landing Mode, it was all different. The number of adjustments made by pilots dropped to single digits. The pilots were much more confident and the AI they used was "really making something that was supposed to be incredibly hard, actually a little bit of fun," Catlin concluded. Of course, the Navy’s been investing in AI and automated parts of its landing systems long ago. You can’t risk a $100 million fighter plane and pilot without confidence and a lot of testing. However, the exciting breakthrough is processing speed and algorithms to build the large data models so AI can cope with cross winds, pitching decks and minute engine power settings during carrier landings. Going forward, the Navy is embracing AI as a shipmate throughout the fleet. "If we have trust in autonomy, we can then make the move to truly artificial intelligence and in the future of the air wing," says Rear Admiral Steven Tedford, who runs unmanned programs and systems development for the Navy at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Maryland. Already the Navy’s big MQ-25 Stingray drone has proven it can refuel other carrier aircraft and enhance satellite communications and reconnaissance for the aircraft carrier strike group. After 2026, all air wings will fly the Stingray drones. That’s a lot of AI. Other systems like the Navy’s stealth F-35 fighters are bringing even more AI. The key is "using the equipment we have today but digitally advantaging it way more," explained Lockheed Martin CEO Jim Taiclet at the Hudson Institute on Oct. 4. A carrier group packs a powerful punch. Here, an F/A-18 Hornet lands on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan in 2013. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Charles D. Gaddis IV)Teaming AI with human crews and commanders is still the preferred mode for military operations. But there’s no question that senior officers may come to rely on AI in the heat of battle, too. Generative AI could soon help commanders anticipate everything from enemy missile shot trajectories to weapons effects of air strikes. CLICK HERE FOR MORE FOX NEWS OPINIONImagine an AI tool that can model the football team’s potential defensive plays before the quarterback throws. With AI, the Navy can stay one step ahead of enemy behavior in a major air and sea confrontation. That’s you, China. The Pentagon said Oct. 17 that Chinese aircraft are aggressively intercepting American military planes all over the Pacific. Looks like the debut of AI in tactical management of combat air patrols and daily operations can’t come soon enough. With the AI in the Precision Landing Mode, it was all different. The number of adjustments made by pilots dropped to single digits. The pilots were much more confident and the AI they used was "really making something that was supposed to be incredibly hard, actually a little bit of fun," Catlin concluded. Don’t forget sailors on the chow line and in the wardrooms. Back in April, the Navy partnered with IBM to apply artificial intelligence to the food supply chain. IBM says organizations often use less than 10% of their supply chain data. CLICK HERE TO GET THE FOX NEWS APPAI will help the Navy supply corps manage the flow of food from ice cream to the famous "bug juice," a fruit-flavored alternative to coffee and water often served aboard the carriers. (Lemon lime when I tasted it aboard USS Nimitz in San Diego years ago.) Yes, the U.S. Navy will need every advantage to face down China in the Pacific. If it takes AI to flow the bug juice, get fuel to strike aircraft and bring the aircrews back aboard the carrier safely, I say full steam ahead.
