It will never not be funny to me that Khun is an ice wielder, yet he's always the first to complain about it being too cold.

Happy Halloween! This chapter isn't Halloween themed, but i figured I'd give out a treat today. I hope you all enjoy!
Exerpt:
The clone cocked his head. “Do you really not remember anything? Dazai said that you didn’t, but if that’s a lie then I won’t tell.”
Chuuya threw his phone on the coffee table. “I … I know but I don’t remember if that makes sense. I remembered Verlaine and Rimbaud breaking me out of containment. I remember rage and hate and … and pain, but … nothing specific.”
The clone nodded and muttered, “Rage.” He looked up at Chuuya. “Does anyone else know?”
“Eh … Kinda? Technically, I told Dazai and the Boss, but I don’t think they put together that I was talking about myself. As far as they know, I don’t remember a damn thing.”

Chapter 16 is live! Here’s a little excerpt from the current chapter:
“Minyard did sign a five year contracted with the team,” Tetsuji said.
“Spare is dead to the world, so no one knows he’s here,” Riko replied.
“They know,” Ichirou growled. “That is why we are here.”
Riko blatantly glared at Neil and sneered. “Yeah, and I wonder how they found out.”
Neil met his gaze. “You accusing me of something?”
“Didn’t you talk to them after the game?”
“Yeah, because I have these things called friends. Ever heard of it?”
“Control your dog, Ichirou,” Tetsuji said.

So, I've been reading the webtoon for Tower of God after watching the anime and came across something that I'm sure is unintentional, but hilarious none the less. In ep. 101 of the Webtoon, Rak says "Son of a turtle," which implies that "turtle" equates at least loosely to "bitch." So Rak has been calling everyone "bitch" the entire time and I think that just makes it so much funnier.

Chapter 6 of Singularities is live!
Exerpt:
He turned to the man next to Chuuya. Their faces would have been just as close had the man not been leaning away from him, his terrified expression amusing the bandaged brunet. “Such little faith my partner has in me.” He shot the man a wolfish grin. “I don’t believe we’ve been properly introduced. Dazai, Osamu Dazai. And you are?”
Chuuya grabbed a fistful of his hair and forced him to turn back to him. “Don’t harass my subordinates.”
“I barely said anything!”
Chuuya released his hair, pushing Dazai away in the process. “I’m too tired for your bullshit, Dazai. Get lost.”
Dazai exaggerated a hurt expression. “But I have a present for you.”
Chuuya scoffed and picked up his drink. “I don’t want nothin’ from you.”
Dazai stole the drink from his hand and downed it. “Bleh, you need better taste in liquor. Let’s go.” He pulled on Chuuya’s arm, but the man didn’t move an inch. “Chuuya!”
“I said I’m not in the fucking mood, Dazai. So, you either tell me what you want or get lost.”
Dazai leaned over Chuuya again and in a dead serious voice said, “You’re really going to want to see this.”

Chapter 5 of Singularities has been posted! Hope you enjoy!
Exerpt:
Chuuya passed the guards stationed in front of the Boss’s office and closed the doors behind him. “You wanted to see me, Boss?”
Mori looked up from some paperwork. “Chuuya, I hear your recovery’s gone well?”
He rubbed the bandages still around his wrists. Even with Chuuya being a ridiculously fast healer, the wounds from the stakes and barbwire were going to take a while to fully go away. “Yeah, minus the migraine from Dazai constantly bothering me.”
Mori smirked. “I must admit, that was partly my doing. I asked him to check in on you for me.”
Chuuya sighed. “I appreciate the concern, Boss. But you really could’ve sent literally anyone else.”
He shrugged and put out a hand. “May I have a look?”
Chuuya stepped around Elise and the creepy doodle she was working on and gave him his wrist. The ex‑doctor unwrapped the bandage and examined the healing wound. It was clinical in a way that made Chuuya’s skin crawl for a reason he didn’t fully understand.
“Hmm, you are an extraordinarily fast healer, even for an ability user. And judging by your progress, you may not even have scars from this.” Mori fastened the bandage back in place. “Fascinating.”

I like that there is a legitimate reason to explain how a technique works in JJK. We all know it's just a trope in anime to call out/explain abilities and a quick way for the author to inform the reader/viewer what's going on. But making it so that explaining a technique makes it stronger is a creative way to incorporate that trope and provides a believable reason as to why a character would be willing to explain their attacks to an opponent without it enturely being an actual detriment.

I wrote a 1,800-word one-off based on a post I made a while back questioning what would happen if Fyodor took over Chuuya. So, if you’re interested, check it out.

One of my favorite things in AFTG is how the author deals with consent, particularly between Neil and Andrew. "Please" is such an easy go-to to make something not sound like an order or demand (especially for more aggressive characters, i.e., "Let me x/Do x, please"), but she completely took that off the table in this case. It becomes even more of a challenge when you take into account how Andrew’s bluntness can be taken as rude, but it's offset so well with Neil needing it spelled out to him because romantic interest go right over his head. Also, once a boundary is set, it's set. No questions asked. No testing it. And despite Neil being dumb as bricks to most things (bless his heart), most of those boundaries aren't even verbally discussed. It's either trial and error, observation of the other, or just left for the other to initiate. And there's no question to the reader that "no" or any sign of hesitation will be taken as "no." It's kinda refreshing to see it portrayed that way in media.

I'm sure someone's already done it, but I'd love to see a comic or something of Dazai quoting Genie's "Phenomenal cosmic powers, itty bitty living space" while referring to Chuuya.
Unfortunately, I possess no drawing ability. So, free idea for anyone.

Chapters: 15/? Fandom: All For The Game - Nora Sakavic Summary:
“Potential.” Riko slammed Neil against the wall again and whirled on Kevin. Kevin stared back at him, white-faced and tense. “You said that goalkeeper had potential and then wrote him off as useless when I offered him to you...” - The Foxhole Court, Ch. 13.
Nathaniel was given to Ichirou as his private hitman after his skills as a marksman were revealed when the Moriyama tracked him and his mother down after they ran away.
Riko decided to surprise Kevin with matching “pets” after he found out the goalkeeper that Kevin was interested in had a twin.
When Nathaniel is ordered to join the Ravens for a year to cover for a series of hits, his smart mouth meets Andrew’s prickly attitude and things get interesting.

My favorite thing about humans is that they'll pack bond with literally anything. Even when we make something that's just a tool to use, something that doesn't think, sometimes doesn't even move, some human will get attached, and it becomes something precious. We make monsters meant to frighten and scare only for someone to find it friend shaped and loveable. We see it everywhere in fantasy and Sci-Fi. Dragons, demons, robots, aliens from distant worlds. Hell, we pack bond with words on a page or images on a screen because we innately want to connect even if it's with characters that don't even exist.
Despite so many of us hating the forced proximity of the modern world, myself included, I can't help but find it adorable how we're so desperate for a pack, so desperate not to be alone, that we can connect with anything.

So, something I just noticed since they both came up on my feed.
Tumblr media
In both Chuuya’s reaction to Dazai getting hit by Lovecraft and Dazai's gay power of friendship/getting shot speech, they both say something similar to the other.
Tumblr media
Even if Dazai is talking out his ass (which is a very real possibility since he knows he's not about to die), it's an interesting parallel and it makes me wonder if it was intentional on the writer's part.

Okay, this has been nagging at me since Season 3. I know having the first person the audience sees Fyodor kill be a slave kid named Karma is significant, but I'm not sure in what way. BSD has had a lot of throwaway characters, but they never put that much emphasis on one. Hell, Coffee Shop Dude has been seen multiple times and has ties to the main cast, and I don't think we even have a name for him. (Side note: according to the wiki, the waitress Dazai flirts with is named Belladonna. Puts a whole new meaning to "flirting with death.") But Karma gets a distinct look, full backstory, and a name even though you could've replaced him with a faceless grunt, and nothing about Fyodor and Ace's interaction would have changed.
It could've just been foreshadowing for Fyodor's actual ability. However, it seems a bit over the top to be that. Especially when the hint in Dead Apple is executed so well in such a short scene. Pluse, the writer and artist of BSD knows how to plant things in advance. The artist noted that Tachihara being a hunting dog is revealed in his clothing because he's the only one wearing the green that's on the hunting dogs uniform (in the manga) instead of the Mafia's red/black motif. And how long did that reveal take?
The random POV change to a throwaway character is just weird, too. As a writer and editor, it doesn't make any sense. There's no payoff. He's not tied to the main cast. It would've been more impactful to the audience if it were a character we already knew. And I doubt Fyodor cares or even remembers the kid.
I know that whole interaction was cooking something, but I don't know what, and it's bothering me.
Thank you for your time.

I don't think it's reasonable to say that Chuuya felt betrayed by Dazai leaving the Mafia.
Like, the guy literally got stabbed in the back and almost killed via firing squad and still proceeded to ask for the Sheep to be spared and a year later went out of his way to save the guy that literally stabbed him in the back.
I mean, he was only slightly miffed that Dazai blew up his car. So, I severely doubt Dazai just quitting his job did any real damage.

Chapter 4 is up and chapter 5 will be out later this month. Enjoy!
Summary: During the cleanup of Chuuya and Verlaine’s fight, Dazai finds out there was another clone in Facility B and decides to retrieve it while Chuuya is recovering from his first time using Corruption.
Chuuya navigates being in the Port Mafia and taking care of his new little brother, and Dazai navigates the new dynamic in his an Chuuya’s partnership.
Not that Dazai cares ... right?
