Sooooo somehow I managed to sprain my chest cavity(just like Marisha did in early c2 only no one for locked in a bathroom!)and so I'm out of work for the next day or so. I also had to drop the entire $165 I was saving for my phone bill and food on the visit and some antibiotics. If anyone can toss anything my way I'd be so so so grateful. So I decided I wanted some pain in my life and I listened to this on my way to work this morning and I have some thoughts.

A Beginning Song:

Liam really said "contractual obligation" and then chose this song. Sir please. "Starting a journey, like any good Halfling, with an eye toward hope and honoring where you come from. Holding onto what’s good and carrying it with you, wherever you go." Is this about your tattoo and you sword and shield sir? Is it?!

Cover Me In Sunshine:

"Exandria is such a rich and beautiful world that it’s hard for me to pick a favorite spot on the map. But the cherry blossoms on the Summit Peaks are a strong contender. High above the world, kissed by the wind and sun, home is a place full of golden memories." I can just picture Orym and Will sitting on the cliffs, feet hanging over the edge and just enjoying the view. And then I picture Orym going back to that same spot after the attack and just breaking down. No it's fine, I'm fine.

Color Him Father:

IF THIS ISN'T ABOUT DERRIG I WILL DO SOMETHING DRASTIC

My Lover:

"Not a day goes by…" is what Liam put as the liner note for this and I know we all had our suspicions for who/what it meant. Then he dropped that lore nuke on all of us this past Thursday and now the final stanza of this song just makes me want to curl up and sob.

"I already know my last words They'll not be regrets or advice You're my lover You're my lover You're my love (ooh, oh-oh) You're my love"

The next three songs haven't really revealed anything new for me since the last episode so I won't be going back over them right now. But this last song....well...

Between Memories

There are very few lyrics, just a single stanza but: "A warning, no waiting We're off to leave now Don't worry 'bout the weather, we're setting off together A warning, no waiting We're off to leave now Don't worry 'bout the weather, we're setting off together"

And then there's Liam's notes about the song: "That said, none of the Tempest Blades rely primarily on raw strength, drawing instead on years of form, dedication, and practice of their art on the cliff faces of Zephra. Some days, when the breeze is right and Orym is slowly tracing the bend of the wind with the end of a blade, he’s home on those cliffs all over again…"

And all I can think of is Derrig teaching a young Will and Orym how to do the Zeph'aeratam on the cliffs of the Summit Peaks, sun shining and highlighting the flowers wound around Orym's wrist and the ones that ring Will's hair.

These are all just things I've personally noticed and pulled from Liam's song choices, if you have anything to add please feel free!!! I love seeing other people's ideas!

Welcome to 2:30 AM thoughts with Xombi, today's topic is Orym and Will and how they might have met.

I'm picturing Orym's mom being friends with Nell -- Derrig's wife -- and maybe she's needed for something and so Nell offers to watch a toddler Orym for a little while. Will is fascinated by Orym because Mama says they're the same age but he's just so tiny!

Fast forward a few years and they're both 8 or 9 and learning how to spar with wooden swords that Derrig made for them. Orym manages to land a decent hit on Will who's a little stunned and rubs his shoulder with wide eyes. How does someone so small pack such a punch?

Fast forward to 15 and Orym is terrified of asking Will to go to the Harvest Dance with him. What if Will says no? What if Will thinks he so weird now? Or hates him? Cue Keyleth finding a pacing, nervous Orym out by the cliffs and helping him decide that asking Will out is a good idea. He's got a new raven feather tucked into his belt too.

Another 5 years, they're both 20 and newly minted members of the Tempest Blades. Keyleth presides over their handfasting ceremony herself, hands sure and eyes damp as she wraps a strip of green cloth around their joined wrists, small flowers blooming as she goes.

Six years ago, the attack on Zephrah, Orym standing in shock as he watches his husband fall. Watches that familiar shield crash to the ground as the life leaves Will's body. He shouts for Derrig, shouts for Nell, for Bryony and Lita and Maeve. For Keyleth. For anyone who can help him as he holds Will's body, sobbing into his hair.

Anyway I'm in a glass case of emotions about Orym and Will and Derrig and Nell and Orym's mom and the triplets. Just. LIAM!! LIAM YOU FED ME SO DAMN WELL SIR.
