Reblogging this as a reminder that all of my m/c's are gender neutral, i dont use they/she/he or any other pronouns besides you/etc. when referring to the reader, and very minimal character description is given about any of them. I want this to be open to as many people as possible.

I'm going to be blunt, this fandom has an issue with assuming that everyone who reads fanfiction is automatically female.

I don't care if it throws off your format or "looks bad". label your fics. specify the reader's gender at the top.

there is nothing inherently wrong with writing fem reader. it's when you are deceiving people (even accidentally) into thinking your work is safe for them to read and then having to leave with a sense of not being welcome in the fandom. everyone deserves fics that make them feel good about themselves, and knowing which ones aren't for them is the first step.

if you can put warnings at the top of your fic you can certainly label reader's gender.

Hinata Shoyo: Second Encounter

First Meeting

You’re house was out of snack again

Which happens a lot more than I’m letting on

(bc you’re parents are health nuts)

But you had only seen the team once more before now

They were leaving and you were coming in

You exchanged polite greetings

And the small volleyball boy couldn’t even look at you

But that was it

Now, though you’ve encountered them the same time they’ve arrived

You were in the snack aisle when they came in

You normally buy your snacks when you want them

Bc you want an excuse to leave home

and see Hinata but that’s not important right now

but this time you have to stock up

Your parents are getting concerned w/ how much you’re leaving the house

So now you won’t be able to come as often

The team saw you as soon as they entered, tho

Or rather

Hinata saw you and short-circuited

Causing the rest of the team to look over

For now they minded their own business

Buying their pork buns and hanging around the table

That is until you paid for your things and made to leave

Sensing a potentially missed opportunity, Suga shot up to watch you leave

And then to Hinata who announced that there was an extra pork bun

When they all started arguing over who’d get it, a Suga idea was born

“Na, Hinata, why don’t you give it to them?” He pointed in your direction

“What? No! I can’t do that!”

“Well why not?” Suga pressed

“Bc- bc... I-i can’t-���

“Ah, he’s too much of a coward to talk to someone he likes~” Tsukki mocked

“Hey! I am not a coward! Watch me!”

Hinata snatched the pork bun and stomped his way over to you

“hey, you!”

Wow Hinata, have you no manners

You whirl around to him shocked

As soon as he registered it was you he stopped

Remembering who he was

And who you were

And who was watching

“Uh... uh-um”

He shoved the bun in your face bowing

“Sorry! Please except this!”

‘Ah he’s so loud’

You looked at his flustered face

‘But he’s so cute~’

You grew warm at the thought and gingerly took the offering

Giving him a soft smile and thanking him

“Thank you... um, I don’t know your name”

“Hinata Shoyo!”

“Thank you, Hinata-kun”

You turned to leave before your own nerves got the best of you

Once you left, Hinata erupted w/ smoke and crumbled to the floor embarrassed

The hearty laughter coming from his team was not helping

You, on the other hand, walked home flushed, the bun still in your hands

Whether you eat pork or not you still felt unbelievably nice bc of it

You were gonna miss seeing him while you’re forced to stay home

Especially now that you finally knew his name

And of course the rest of the team, ha ha

You are not thinking about any of them who’re you kidding

Announcment!!

Wow hi long time no see! So it’s been about a year since I’ve updated everything, to everyone still liking, following, and reading I thank you! Your notifications have stopped me from abandoning this completely. I was also going to come back but with the recent confirmation of season 5 I fell back into my haikyuu obsession. Not to mention I’ve had drafts sittin gin my notebook this entire time, so that stuff will start coming out.

I will be rewriting Kuroo’s scenarios, however. The original will stay up for now, but it will be overwritten. The post will stay the same, not being deleted, so if you’re interested in Kuroo’s storyline make sure to check the masterlist for when that’s updated. I’ll make it clear that the story is different. I just hate the plot I chose and it’s really difficult to keep writing for a story I hate. I almost did the same with Kenma but I firgured that one out. Don’t expect any new characters yet, I have some ideas but nothing concrete or written. Not to mention a very long list of new characters I want to write for.

I’m also probably gonna abandon the order of scenarios I’m posting I was doing it in the original order i posted them, but that’s probably gonna change to whichever one I get done. Obviously each storyline will come out chronologically, im not a heathen.

Iwaizumi Hajime: Second Encounter

First Meeting

Ever since Kiyoko joined the team back in first yr, you’ve been karasuno’s hype man 

(she was nervous about committing to something again and asked you to do it with her)

You weren’t a manager in the beginning, you just went to every practice and game for moral support

But then you started learning about the game and became a sort of coach for the team

Studying other teams and helping them train as best you could

Once you became invested (which honestly didn’t take very long) you signed on as manager

Of course you weren’t an actual coach, so there was only so much you could do

And you were relieved when Coach Ukai came back to the team.

You got to see how an actual coach worked and were less involved in training and more involved in side work

Now that he’s gone again, you’ve taken over again

It’s also why you’re standing w/ your teacher, Takeda, to shake Seijoh’s hands

The coaches were confused, to say the least

But you don’t think the team saw you

Which was a shame

You really needed to return this jacket

You had noticed him while surveying the team

Jersey #1, the guy who hit you w/ a water balloon

You recall his friend calling him Iwa-chan, but you know from the team roster that is real name is Iwaizumi

You weren’t going to interrupt a game to return a jacket, tho

So you’d have to wait ‘til the end

Through out the match you judged your team’s skills

You almost busted a lung when Hinata hit Kageyama at the end of the first set

You had lost that set, but you took it back in the second set

In addition to judging your team, you also payed attention to the other team

Who to look out for, who was a threat

Who was a minor inconvenience, at best

Not to mention flinching every time Iwaizumi spiked the ball

bara arms 🤤

You rubbed the spot the balloon hit, wondering why there wasn’t a hole

And then things got interesting

As Karasuno was about to take the second set, Seijoh’s captain finally showed

Apparently he had a knee injury and had to get it checked

You had an intense moral battle over whether or not you should exploit that

But you sympathized, you had a knee injury too

Yours took you out off the track, however

They brought him in as a pinch server at the end of the third set to score the last few points

You actually had faith in your boys up until Oikawa served

Then like the air that left you, you lost all hope

On the inside

On the outside you were still cheering

He may have had a killer serve

But you had a freak quick

And the feeling of satisfaction you got from the looks on their faces-

Finally, the match was over

And your team lined up in front of you

After Sensei’s ‘speech’, you merely mentioned the amount of training you were going to put them through

They were not looking forward to it

Once Seijoh was done thanking you both, Sensei fumbled his way through another speech

Meanwhile, you assessed everyone on the team

Matching faces to the roster

Once you got to Oikawa you were startled to see him already looking at you

Smirking - he didn’t take his eyes off you the whole time

When Sensei finished he turned to you and asked if you wanted to say anything

“Why are you smirking at me?” You glared at the captain

If possible his smirk get wider

“Sorry, you just look so different when your not drenched”

He turned to his friend

Who just now seemed to realize who you are

“Right, Iwa-chan~”

Taking sympathy on the poor guy-

Who honestly looked like he was struggling between killing Oikawa and being embarrassed - 

You cut in

“I bet I do, Shitty-kawa. But that reminds me.”

You mak ethe executive decision to ignore is whining

and the confused people around you

Grabbing the jacket from your bag, you toss it to it’s real owner

“Thanks for letting me borrow it, Iwaizumi.”

“Right, yeah, of course”

An attractive person being mean to Oikawa

And nice to him

The world has flipped on it’s axis

“Yah, don’t ignore me!”

“I’ll ignore you all I want!”

Fight! Fight! Fight!

Your glaring contest is setting your teacher on edge, stop it

“Maybe we should get going”

Reminded of where you are & who you’re w/ you regain your composure

Clearing your throat, you say “Yes. I need to start making a plan for Hinata. Bc as funny as hitting Kageyama was, it can’t happen again!”

You say the last part loud enough for him to hear you from where he is.

When the rest of the team starts sniggering you added

“The rest of you need work too, don’t go thinking your off the hook.”

You glowered at them and jerked your thumb over your shoulder

“Now get on the bus, we’ve taken up enough of their time”

“Yes, Coach”

At their sarcastic response you deepened your expression and they hurried away

You bowed w/ Kiyoko at Seijoh’s coaches then started off after the team

As you turned away gave Iwaizumi a smile and peace sign

and sneered at oikawa

Poor guy, so slick w/ friends and on the court

Immediately flustered by you

You gorgeous thing you 😘

Fortunately for him their coaches prolonged the inevitable teasing

“They seem really young for a coach”

“Oh they’re not actually” Takeda supplies

One look at their lost face had him explaining more

“They signed on as a manager w/ Shimizu their first year. But I’ve heard from the third years that they took on the role bc they didn’t have a coach.

“They learned everything they could about volleyball to make sure the team had a fighting chance”

He looked over to where you were messing around w/ Yamaguichi

“They’re the teams main support stream, They’re really reliable and admirable” He finished w/ a fond smile

Before turning to Seijoh and apologizing for rambling

But good on you for being such a good person

👏👏👏

As soon as Karasuno was fully out the door the team rounded on Iwaizumi

“You saw them drenched in water?”

“How do you know them?”

“Can you introduce me, they’re hot!”

“Now, now everybody one at a time. You’re going to overwhelm him. It’s not everyday someone attractive notices our Iwa-chan~”

“Shut up, Crappy-kawa! You were there too!”

Rubbing his now bruised shoulder, Oikawa made it known that “I’m not the one who hit them with a water balloon”

“You hit them with a water balloon?!” The team exclaimed

“It was an accident!”

He’s too flustered to even try and look intimidating

And of course was adding fuel to the fire

“But you did stare at their chest”

“I did not!”

He was about to hit Oikawa again

Except the coaches managed to get everyone’s attention

Effectively silencing all the howling from the rest of the team

“As entertaining as this is; Karasuno still managed to beat us, despite their inexperience”

“So let’s get to work”

Iwaizumi let out a breath of relief to get the attention off of him.

Of course the other third years will never let him live this down

“So did they look good wet?”

“I didn’t look! Shut up!”

And for all you being like ‘he so looked’ if you go back you’ll see that he actually didn’t

Oikawa Tooru: Second Encounter

You got the job

You’ve been working there a few months now

Thankfully, you’re enrolled in an online school

So no school work you need to worry about

This also gives you the advantage of monopolizing hrs

You are a tour guide by the time Oikawa comes back 

This time w/ Takeru

His sister told him to keep Takeru busy after volley ball while she sets up his birthday party

So he took him to the aquarium

“And will you be joining a tour or are you just looking around?”

The lady selling looks between them

Oikawa looks to his nephew, “Do you want to look around, or do you want to learn more about them”

“Let’s do a tour, I doubt you could tell me anything here”

“Hn-” Don’t hit him Oikawa, don’t you dare

He addresses the lady w/ a strained smile “I guess we’ll do a tour”

He’s quietly seething while they wait for the tour guide

He’s about t curse out his nephew one more time

When who would show up to start the tour

But you

You don’t notice him as you introduce yourself to the group, but boy does he notice you

Looks like his day just got a whole lot better

Through out the tour, he’s eager to know if you remember him

At the end, you ask the group to form a line to touch the jellyfish at the end

Oikawa doesn’t, but Takeru does

Once it’s his turn you give him the same instructions you’ve given to everyone else

But you’re still not looking at him

He finally gets the opportunity when your phone lights up

And he sees your lockscreen

“Cute lockscreen” ego

You glance at your phone and then at him “Oh, thanks-”

If your sharp intake of breath is anything to go by, I’d say you recognize him

“What are you doing here?”

You were never supposed to see him again

He was never supposed to see your lockscreen

“What~ I can’t come and see you? I mean, I’m on your lockscreen, after all”

You slick fuck

In embarrassment, you puff out your cheeks

“Ha, I guess I made the right decision, calling you Puff Puff~”

He finds great amusement in your suffering

Meanwhile, Takeru’s looking at you confused

“Are you dating my uncle? Why?”

Poor naïve Takeru, gonna give poor Y/n a heart attack

While your trying to formulate an answer through your embarrassment

Oikawa is defending himself

:What do you mean ‘why’? I’m a great guy!”

“Iwa-san says you’re crappy”

“Well you shouldn’t listen to everything Iwa-chan says”

He huffs haughtily

“You’re just lucky it’s your birthday”

‘An out!’

This is your chance to get the conversation away from you two

“Oh, it’s your birthday?”

“Yeah, you’re dating Tooru, shouldn’t you know this? Aren’t you coming to my party later?”

“Oh, no-” you try and deny it, but he’s a kid and he misunderstands

“So, you’re not gonna come to my party??”

Oh no! You’ve made Takeru sad

You look to Oikawa or help

And by some miracle he takes pity on you

“Come now, Takeru they have to work. They won’t be able to make it. No reason to make them feel worse about it.”

Of course not enough pity to clear up the dating thing

But you jump at the excuse anyway

“Yes! I have to work the rest of the day, and get off very late”

“Oh.” He still looks so sad tho

Why? He barely know you

bc i said so

But whether you like kids or not, you’re not gonna ruin his day

“How about, to make it up to you, I buy you whatever you want from the gift shop”

That cheers him up

He looks at you eagerly

“Anything?”

‘I’m so gonna regret this’ You smile weakly and nod

He takes your hand excited

On the way there and while picking out his gift

He talks about everything

His party, volleyball, his uncle

“He’s a crappy guy, but he is really great at volleyball”

You hand Oikawa his new jellyfish plushie

It’s huge, tbh

You look at him; he’s been quietly observing you two this whole time

But he takes the plushie w/ a proud smirk

“Is he?”

“Yeah, the best setter in the whole prefecture!”

Despite all the shit he talks about him, he really does admire him.

“Hm, maybe I should see that for myself”

“You’ve never seen him play? But you’re dating?”

“Heh, about that... We’re not dating”

“Oh” He seems confused and looks at his uncle for answers “But...

“They’re awesome,, what’s wrong with you?!”

You can’t help but let out a bark of laughter

You cover your mouth quickly when he shoots you an offended look and flounders HA for,,, anything

Still giggling you say “Well as much as I’d love to poke fun at your uncle more,”

“hey!”

“I need to get to my next tour”

You say goodbye to Takeru First

“You have a good rest of your birthday”

And then addressed his uncle

“And maybe I’ll watch you play, one day”

It came out as more a question than statement

But he doesn’t answer bc you’re already rushing away

Not bc you’re embarrassed

you are

But bc you really do need to get to your next tour

‘Oh god what was that?! Was that flirting?! I don’t flirt! Why would I say I would watch him play?! I don’t even know when he plays!’

That slightly dampens your mood

You actually kinda wanna see him play, sorta

Would he be upset you’re not there?

‘No of course not. Who am I kidding? He probably has tons of fans’

Like midnight soon

You’ve already used your extension, and you can’t get another one

You’re about to crank up the EDM

When you remember your neighbour

Your hot, cool, put-together neighbour that you didn’t know about until a few weeks ago

You grab your laptop and rush next door

“Akaaashi!” You-re gonna give poor akaashi a heart attack if you say it like that

‘Way to be inconsiderate Y/n he probably doesn’t want to deal with-’

He opens the door and all reservations fly out the window

“Akaashi” the relief of seeing him makes you sound breathless

That’s not the only thing making you breathless ya know what im saying ayye

Does something to him, too, tho

But shh you didn’t hear that from me

He clears his throat, bc he’s definitely not as unaffected as we all think “May I help you”

“Yes, please! I have an essay due soon and I can’t find it!” You hold out your laptop for him

He let’s out a miniscule sigh and grabs it, leading you inside

once seated he opens your laptop

But alas: a password

Not to mention your Angel Beats Icon

Hinata own s my heart

“Oh, uh,,, let me just-” You reach over him to type it in

Despite the touchy nature of Bokuto, Akaashi isn’t used to this closeness w/ someone else

Does he relish it? No

This is the second time you’ve met, you hopeless romantics, go touch grass

You, on the other hand, are very much used to being physically close to people

Bars are a regular for you fyi

But that’s not the point

Once he’s in your writing application he starts searching for your lost essay

While he does that you take a gander at his neat as fuck dorm

Nah jk it’s a wreck

Like a straight up hurricane

Papers in scattered stacks

Books flat upside and eft around randomly

You frown - this doesn’t feel right

Of course if he’s just a messy guy, nothing wrong w/ that

Everyone has a clothes chair, right? right?

But this,,, this feels/looks like a mental breakdown waiting to happen

“Found it” he’s quiet, but clipped

And you, you’re frowning at him now

Essay completely forgotten

“What?” He sounds agitated

Not at all like the guy who helped you a few weeks ago

“You’re stressed”

He lifts his brows “Why do you-” 

He coughs when his voice croaks

“What makes you say that?”

You sweep your arm across the room

“I’m really messy”

You fix him w/ what I call ‘the mom look’

You know, the one she makes when she doesn’t believe a word you say no matter ow true it is???

“Akaashi, that could be true, but this-” you flap your hand around “Is not a mess, it’s a lose of control”

“Now, “ You stand and bring him up with you “You know what I do when I have a mental breakdown”

You grab your computer and go to Spotify, playing your hyper-pop playlist

“I doubt you like EDM, so we’ll try something else”

You look at the face of trepidation he makes

“It’ll grow on you”

“Now every time I think you look too stressed while we’re cleaning this up, I will take your hands and we’ll dance”

“I don’t dance”

“Most people don’t, but that’s not the point. The point is to do something that no one can judge you for”

You spread your arms wide “It’s just us here”

He looks at you resigned and then at the stuff absolutely everywhere

Before he can finish grimacing, you take his arm and twirling him ll over the room

Expertly avoiding the things on the ground

Once he’s satisfyingly dizzy, you let him g and start picking up

He joins you after regaining his balance and reigning in his shock

This repeats itself a few times

Whenever he looks to a new section and feels overwhelmed you start dancing w/ him again

And then it’s over and he looks confused

“There we go, all better”

You look at him satisfied

You’ve done what you could for now

“Must feel weird, being the person who needs help for once”

He whips he head to you  “How do you know that”

You shrug w/l and easy smile

“I don’t now. You just seem like the calm and collected type.

“But anyway, it’s the least I could do for you, after you helped w/ my essay- Oh my god my essay!!”

You sprint to your computer

“See ya- Kaashi”

Just like that your gone

and Akaashi is even more confused

He sighs again and looks at the mountain of work on his desk

The stress already making it’s way back 

Until he hears it

After your first meeting you’ve made a conscious effort to keep the music down

But he can hear it coming faintly from the wall you share

It sounds like the music from games Kenma plays

He grabs a small stack of work and slides down the wall

Resting his head against it and just listening to whatever it is your playing

Enjoying it, even if it’s not for him

It so is tho ;)

hello op! this is random but would u mind sharing whatever website/app u used in that screenshot of ur upcoming drafts (which im very much looking forward to reading!!!!!)—ive been looking for something to organize my writing and that seemed really neat! thank u :D

It's actually not a website at all! It's a tablet type thing called remarkable. Its specifically for writing and feels exactly like a piece of paper and pen. I use it so much that its now writing on actaully paper tho! 😅

My mother bought it for me for my birthday so I cant tell you much on that front, but I can tell you it's the best thing ive ever owned. It does have an app for the computer and I think mobile but it saves all your stuff to the cloud and you can convert it into a typed document on the computer. I write mostly in cursive but the pages ive converted had almost zero errors.

But yes! It has folder and notebooks are for longer thjngs you want to keep separate. the Quick sheets is one "notebook" like thing for just real quick notes if you need to write something down fast. And it has different pens and templates!

Here are some more pictures to show you what I mean (and yes these are all upcoming drafts for future scenarios and characters, not everything is planned but Ive done more since the last sneak peak):

I'm sure you'll find more information on their website but I do love this thing and think it's completely worth it to own. Especially if you prefer writing to typing.

The coffee shop has run out of almond milk

Before your shift you stop in the store to get some

While there you spot a cute little Haworthia plant

Totally not bc the little spots remind you of a certain someone’s freckles

Nope

After buying your plant and milk you head to the shop to see your sister working the register

Putting your stuff on the counter and milk in the fridge you take

over the register

Doing your hw while helping people

when your sister finally notices she forces you to take a break to do your hw

“But you shouldn’t have to work alone”

“But you need to do your work and I’m your boss”

Not able to argue w/ her you grab your stuff and move to a table

After sometime your sister brings you a cortadito

“Hey, here’s your drink. I saw you bought some almond milk so I used that”

“Oh, uh,,, thanks”

Is that milk for you, no

Are you gonna tell your nosey sister that, hell no

But it seems the customers around you had a different idea

“Um, actually...” stop “She bought that for a customer who’s lactose intolerant and doesn’t like skim”

“You bought expensive milk for someone you barely know?”

“No! It’s for me I actually really like almond milk”

You take a sip and hum in not-so-fake pleasure bc it actually is pretty good

“Lies,” shut up “it’s for that cute first year that goes to your school, Yamaguchi”

You pushed yourself over top the booth to look at them in shock

“You know his name?”

“It’s on his bag”

“Oh”

“Back-up a bit. You have a crush?”

Nosey sisters are the worst

“No, I just felt bad that we didn’t have what he wanted!”

“Uh-huh” She stared at you, not believing your bullshit for even a second

“Mhmm” You stared back in challenge

After few beats of silence your sibling staring contest was interrupted by a customer over her shoulder

You look down at you phone to check the time

“You’re here early!”

It was only 19.55, he shouldn’t be here for another hr and 15 mins

“I didn’t know there was a set time I needed to be here at” He smiled cheekily

‘Don’t be cute right, now pls’

“There isn’t- I mean you can show up whenever you want, you’re just her at 9,,, normally”

“Practice ended earlier than normal”

“Oh.”

A weird silence followed this

The girl next to you exchanged looks w/ your sister

That was before you made the most horrifying realization

“You came for a drink”

You jumped out of your seat and rushed to the counter

And when I say jumped I mean jumped

You almost knocked your poor sister over 

‘stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid-’

Yamaguchi shuffled over to the counter to wait for his drink

So did your sister, entertained beyond belief at your frantic demeanor

Once you made him his drink, you said “Sorry about that, you can study now-”

“My stuffs all over your usual table!”

‘stupid stupid stupid stupid-’

Mortified you hop over the counter to get their quicker

“Ah, no, it’s fine. I can sit somewhere else.”

Sweetie, no, you cannot, they won’t let you. This is your table and your alone

You pause to look at him “But this is your table”

Before he can respond you’ve cleared your stuff off the table

Not knowing what else to say Yamaguchi focuses on the plant you just set down “Your plants cute. Does it have a name?”

‘Does it have a name?! It’s not a pet. Dumbass’ - Yama right now

Before you all come for me this boy is friends w/ Tsukishima, he cusses

“Uh, no, not yet. I just got him today.”

You don’t even think it’s weird for him to ask, you precious bean you

Tbh, this is the least awkward interaction the whole night

He nods w/ pursed lips before flinching a smile and scurrying to his seat

As soon as his back is turned you slump against the counter in embarrassment

Your sister comes over and gives you a sympathetic pat on the back

“That was a train wreck”

“Shut up”

BONUS:

“That was rough kid, you alright”

Oh look it’s everyone’s favourite meddling college student, back for one last time

“mmmmmmmm” He’s also slumped on the table FYI

you buy a straberry milk from the machine

as mentioned before, you can drink a cup (or carton) of milk before feeling sick

we love being spiteful of medical issues

you rejoin Kiyoko at the entrance, sipping your milk slowly

obviously she’s concerned; she heard you yesterday too

bc a normally smug individual was in front of your desk asking to borrow your homework

you clapped loudly, garnering some attention

but when do you and Tsukishima not turn heads

“just??? come on spit it out”

“i fell asleep before i could finish” well that was certainly quiet. i couldnt quite hear him, could you?

“sorry what was that? couldnt really make it out, say again?”

he gave a resigned sigh, “i got half way through and fell asleep”

“oh come on really?!” ‘wow what a disappointment’ “you had to at least get some of it done, didnt you? you couldnt have just forgotten the whole thing; save me some of my respect?”

“absolutely not, bc im not as forgetful as you” he held out is hand for the paper “dont forget you owe me for letting you borrow my homework”

you riffled around your bag for the class folder, once you pulled out the paper Tsukishima went to grab but you snatched it away before he could

you made to put your homework back but he grabbed your wrist to stop you

“i was exhausted from volleyball practice. the rest of the members are over-enthusiastic dumbasses that drain me just by being near me”

“here” this time he snatched it from you so you couldnt take it back

he slumped down in his seat to start copying your work

you swung yourself out of your seat and leaned against his desk on his left side

you stared at each other, willing the other to break

sadly your little staring contest was cut short by the class representative announcing the start of class

Tsukishima scribbled the last answer onto his worksheet before throwing it back to you

you two may poke each others buttons every chance you get but you have an underlying respect for the fact that you both are have the motivation of a brick wall

once the lunch bell rang you followed Tsukishima and his friend(?) Yamaguchi

“hey Yamaguchi” you slung your arm around him, keeping him from walking with Tsukishima “gotta question for you”

“whats your question?”

“youre not Yamaguchi, unless I was introduced incorrectly in the beginning of the year”

“Ah, Tsukki its okay, i’ll catch up with you”

“Tsukki? oh thats an adorable nickname. I’ll ask about that another time, but there are more pressing matters”

“i’ll be at the end of the hall, i dont trust you alone with him, (l/n)”

“aw, you wound me, Tsukki” he glared at your use of his nickname “i’ll return your best friend with all his innocence. although considering he knows you he looses some irreproachability by association”

you released Yamaguchi to shoo ‘Tsukki’ away

once he was out of earshot, you whirled around to face Yamaguchi again

“so this volleyball thing, how serious is he about it?”

he seemed confused

“i want to give him grief about it, but i have to make sure its worth my while”

“i-i mean i guess, he used to be”

“used to be?”

“ah, nothing, thats not for me to tell” he smilled shyly “i guess what i mean is that hes lost his interest. he doesnt take it seriously anymore, especially not like some of the members of our team”

you looked back a Tsukishima, he was staring at you both “i want to see that. Tsukishima with someone much more energetic then him - that’s gotta piss him off”

“oh they do”

“hm! i guess i’ll just have to see for myself” you turned back to Yamaguchi with a slick smile

“say~ what time does volleyball practice start? i need to check out the competition”

volleyball practice began at the end of the school day, the boys didnt enter the gym until about 30 minutes later

you sat atop the banister, your legs between the railings dangling over the edge

it was unlikely anyone would see you up here, so you could observe without being caught and questioned

you did your homework while the boys practiced

so far only slight jabs have been thrown out but it was mostly between the orange first year, Hinata, and the other tall first year, Kageyama.

Sure Tsukishima would make small comments under his breathe - not that you could hear them from your perch - but he didnt get directly involved

once they took a break and Tsukishima and Yamaguchi went to go get more water you rushed down to the gym floor

“do any of you know where Tsukishima’s bag is?”

the remaining members of the club looked at you in shock and confusion

“uh,, who are you?” the captain, Daichi stepped up to ask

“(y/n) (l/n), im looking for leverage against Tsukishima and this club has been my first clue”

“OH I know you!” Hinata yelled “Yamaguchi mentioned you said you wanted to ‘check out the competition’“

You laughed nervously “I needed to make sure im the number one nuisance in Tsukishima’s life. I have discerned you both are not a threat to my title” you squinted at Hinata and Kageyama “so far”

you shook your head and looked at the others

“now can someone please tell me where his bag is before he comes back?”

they pointed you in the direction of the club room, the captains being more than willing to give you a key to get what you need

apparently they believe Tsukishima could use someone to compete with

since he doesnt see anyone on the team as worthy yet

when you finally made it back with his work sheet in hand, you noticed him walk into the gym just before you

you guess his team was still a little, uh, bewildered by your antics bc they were just staring at him

and you behind him

“why the hell are you looking at me so stupidly?”

you took this as your cue

coming up behind them you threw both your arms across their shoulders

“Now, now Tsukki~ dont be so mean. theyre just shocked by my presences. and you Yamaguchi - thank you for the intel”

Tsukishima groaned in annoyance “what are you doing here, (l/n)? and dont call me that”

you patted their backs before making your way further into the gym and back to your spot

you waved your hand mockingly in the air, the same hand that held the piece of paper from Tsukishima’s bag “it was good. these guys are way too over excited about volleyball. but something was off about your info”

“what info?”

You started walking backwards to address him “Yah, Tsukki, so demanding”

“what do you have in your hand?”

you waved the paper around some “the paper is unimportant to this conversation. but what is important is that Yamaguchi described you as uninterested in volleyball” you began going up the steps back the the banister “i would say you were just plan lazy”

“excuse me?”

“oh yeah, im surprised you took so long to refill your water, considering you didnt do much”

“wow someone who can lay into Tsukishima about as much as he lays into everyone else!” Nishinoya seemed very pleased with this

you had finally made it back to your seat and pulled your binder back onto your lap “now that i think about it, you dont put much effort into anything really. not even your school work. which explains why you left it half finished last night”

“compared to you who didnt do it at all”

he was standing under you now, looking up at you for once

“ya know it feels really good to finally be able to look down at you. I bet this is your first time ever looking up to someone”

“dont assume. ive heard it makes you an ass”

“ha ha” you glance at Hinata “well is it safe to assume that Hinata’s a better player than you?”

“what?” Tsukishima glowered at you, or tried to with his height disadvantage

“what?” Hinata cowered away, however, probably not wanting to be caught in this pissing match i cant blame him

“he has zero technique” this caused Hinata to make a noise of disagreement

“well i havent been able to see, youve barely played”

he didnt have retort to that, bc he knew you were right

he hadnt really played, hed done the bare minimum

but he had to say something “i, am a much better player than shrimpy”

you leaned through the rails as best you could, “prove it”

at that moment you could’ve sworn you saw a spark light in his eye

but you were too far away and it was probably just a trick of the light

you did however notice that he did seem more into playing the game

it was the homework for that night

you figured youd cause him a little panic

of course your not evil, and you did fill out his work sheet for him

making the work slightly different and copying his penmanship

you pride yourself for being an excellent forger

although he was not happy with you the next morning

moreover the teacher didnt suspect a thing when the homework was handed in

i think its worth mentioning thought that a few of the upperclassmen on the team did seek you out during the day to invite you back

one such topic youre studying is biology and my FUCKING GOD is it the worst

least favourite subject ever

which has brought you back to the campus library, this time during operating hours and properly dressed

a fact that was smugly pointed out by the man pushing a cart

“its good to know that you can actually dress appropriately in a public space. not to mention showing up before closing”

you stop your searching to address him “could say the same to you, surprised to see you werent actually lying to me”

“do i seem like the deceiving type”

you looked him up and down “you dont want me answering that”

he rolled his eyes at you before moving further down the aisle

“hey, wait. think you could help me find a book on biology. i need it for a very important test, and i just so happen to suck at the subject”

“great”

“hey, this is your job”

“i know, follow me”

once you made it to the customer service desk you started asking him questions

“so whats your major...” you leaned over the counter to look at his badge, previously blocked by the computer, “Semi?”

he flicked his eyes toward you before focusing on the computer screen again “why do you want to know?”

“just making small talk. youre an enigma, its not everyday you run into a stranger in his pajamas at the library after closing. very less frequent that you dont have any questions”

“you say that like i relate to your sentiments” he looked at you full on now “are you looking for something specific?”

“morphology, plant and animal dna, moreso plant, etc.” you poked his hand, “you didnt answer my question”

he sighed reluctantly, “political science and music. just one or do you want more?”

“i’ll take as many as you can find and then weed out the ones i wont use”

“excessive, isnt this your major?”

“ha, no im studying forensics, biology is just another subject im adding to my arsenal”

he started writing down the call numbers, “and how many subjects do you have in your ‘arsenal’?” you giggled at that, “whats so funny?”

“nothing, just hearing you say anything that has a double meaning doesnt seem... normal”

“and to answer your question, i have taken courses in computer science, chemistry, criminal justice, toxicology, and linguistics, i also minor in psychology”

by the time you finished listing off the various classes youre taking, Semi had stopped writing and was staring at you

“what?”

“it gives me an advantage over others, besides the only subject i dont like out of all of them is biology”

he shook his head at you “i think i should give you a shorter list of books now”

“no” you snatched the paper, “ill take them all”

you spun around to start your search for the books

once you found them all you had a stack of about ten on one of the tables

you spent hours reading the books and taking notes in your notebook

you only stopped twice to go the bathroom and once when Semi passed by

and by ‘passed by’ you mean he dropped a book on your table

“whats this?” you looked at the title, it was another book on morphology

“it was on my cart, figured you could use it”

“sick thanks, ill add it the pile”

semi placed a hand on one of your stacks “how far have you gotten?”

“ive thumbed through a few, nothing extensive yet. i plan to go through a few more thoroughly”

you looked out the window to see a setting sun

you stopped Semi from walking away, “say, how much longer is the library open for? dont want to be accused of breaking in again”

he huffed at you, you chose to take it as a sort of laugh “dont worry, it closes later than you think”

you got up to stretch and headed to the vending machine in the lobby

you bought yourself a pack of chips and also a KitKat

walking back to your table you dropped the candy bar onto Semi’s cart, “can you please eat this one correctly this time”

unbeknownst to you, semi looked after you with a faint smile as you sat down again

you continued working for what you thought was only like an hour, hour and a half

but when you finally decided to stop and check the time it was midnight

and no normal library, college or not, is open at midnight

you should know since the last time you were here at midnight, you were called out for coming after closing

“Semi?” you looked around for the silver haired page, but couldnt find him anywhere

“yeah?” you jerked back around at his voice, startled

he was in front of you eating a KitKat, the wrong way heathen, dressed casually and was leaning against a different table covered in papers

“okay first of all, i thought i said eat that correctly. second, dont scare me-”

“sorry”

“and thirdly, the librarys closed, why didnt you kick me out?”

“i was staying late anyway. figured id let you study some more”

“well thats hella cool of you, but now i cant check any of these out”

“i already did”

“huh?”

“librarians can access the barcodes of books as long as they have a call number. i checked them all out to you before the library closed.”

“how do you know my account number?”

he pointed to one of your notebooks “your name is on your notebook cover, and there arent many people with western names going to this school, (y/n) (l/n)”

“i dont know whether to be impressed or creeped out...” you were packing up your things now but you made sure to keep him in your sight

“you sure youre studying music?”

“positive. do you have everything i have to lock the door behind us, and i will not be opening it back up again for the rest of the night”

you both left in silence, you walked together until you got to the dorms at which point you split off from each other

“oh also,” he called after to you “the KitKat you gave me, i ate ‘correctly’. that was a second one”

i finally left my job at a restaurant which was very stressful so now i have much more time and i finally made my way back to my haikyuu fixation. im gonna try my hardest to knock a few of these out in quick succession

the rest of the class continued on in a similar manner

once the class had ended you tried to speed out of there and away from him

but the cheeky fuck followed you

when he caught up - 

which didnt take long bc of his stupid long legs -

he threw an arm over your shoulder and stirred you in the opposite direction as you were going

“what the hell are you doing? i want to go back to my dorm, thank you very much”

“well you seemed so interested in volleyball the other day i thought id bring you to practice with me today”

you start pushing against him trying to turn away but he just pulled you closer making escape impossible

“oh whats the big deal! i was under the impression that you loved volleyball”

“Bokuto, lets go!” one of his teammates called for him to join their practice

“ah, i have to go now but hey, if you happen to space out just focus on me instead!”

the team had finally stopped a while later for a small break

by that point you had given up on trying to write that essay

the noise from the boys (the balls and the arguing and the yelling) had kept you from focusing very well

not to mention watching Bokuto play was,,,, engaging to say the least

as the boys dispersed, him and Kuroo made their way to you, having set their stuff next to you at a previous water break

“so you finally gave up, huh, (l/n)?”

“shut up, Kuroo, yall are loud. itd be hard for anyone to concentrate”

“excuses, excuses” he teased, sitting down on the floor to your left

“besides watching you guys play is actually pretty cool”

to your right, however, Bokuto pulled off his gym shirt before starting to chug his water

“not to mention very,,,, distracting” that came much breathier than you would have liked

“wow, Bo, very brave stripping in front of our company”

“huh?” he looked down at you two like he hadnt just done exactly that

when he laid eyes on you he started to apologize, realizing what was going on

you chuckled along with the rest of the team, feeling glad that you werent the one being teased for once, but also slightly bad

he stopped himself from throwing the shirt back on, “really? thanks!”

this queued a bombardment of questions from the rest of the team

which Kuroo gladly explained, with an occasional kick in the knee from you when he started to tell it wrong

“ah Kuroo, you’re an awful person” Bokuto whined

“thank you!” your exclamation caused another ripple of snickers

the team engaged themselves into a different conversation while you gazed at Bokuto

“here,” you snatched Kuroo’s towel from him, completely ignoring his protests, “why dont you use this instead, no point in making your shirt even more sweaty”

you tossed it to Bokuto so he wouldnt have to use his recently discarded shirt

“thank you!”

Kuroo flicked your shin bringing your attention toward him

“hey that was mine”

“yeah, and?”

“and, what am i supposed to use now??”

“use your shirt, or maybe your jacket”

“you absolutely suck you know that”

he couldnt reply bc their coach called them back to practice

he gave you one last glare before running to his coach with Bokuto not far behind him

when practice finally came to a close the boys collected their stuff and walked out the door with you

once the cold air hit you hugged yourself, trying to bring some warmth back

Bokuto always made the cutest face in your everyones opinion

“yeah a little bit, i wasnt expecting to be out this late so i dont have a jacket or anything”

“here,” he reached into his bag an pulled out his volleyball hoodie, “you can wear this”

“nah, im still pumped from those matches!”

ah, im too tired for his endless energy right now

he shoved it into your hands, you set your stuff down before pulling it on

yup, just as nice and warm as you remember it being 

you shoved your hands in the front pouch as you continued walking

once you got to the point where you either go to the south dorms or the north dorms Kuroo said his goodbyes

“see ya, im ready to pass out”

“see ya, man”

“deuces, cat bastard” you snuck in

he gave you slick smirk, oh he wasnt done fucking with you just yet

“yeah, yeah, just make sure you make it inside before you two decide to start making-”

he jogged away laughing before you could hit him

while waiting for the movie to start the boys introduced themselves to you finally

no more descriptions thank god

the boys rotate who picks the movie very week, this week it was Tsukishima’s turn and he picked Jurassic World:Fallen Kingdom 

its a good thing youve seen it before bc you could barely pay attention

not with sitting so close to tall, strong, and handsome, now known as Asahi

everyone say thank you Sugawara

of course when it got to the one sad scene in the movie you couldnt help but stare at your hand 

it was resting on the arm bar directly next to Asahi’s 

you remembered the last time you sat next to him during a sad scene and forced you eyes to remain dry and on the big screen

there was snickering coming from next to you from Sugawara

“shut up, Sugawara” you whispered

he hummed in response as you glared and shifted away, however that made you accidently press up against Asahi’s arm

you whipped your head toward him as soon as you made contact

yall locked eyes for a solid second before starting to stutter and stammer 

the only thing that made you stop was Sugawara’s snickering again

you swatted at him in revenge and shifted to the middle of your seat

you glanced back at Asahi to see him already looking at you

both of you were nervous so you offered a small smile to ease the tension

he gave one back and you both tried to pay attention to the rest of the movie

So I would like to say that I’m excited for his series but I was wondering if you could write for Daichi, Tendou, and Ushijima

i was planning on writing for for daichi and tendou before i just lost the inspiration to write for them. what i had planned just wasnt fitting very well. as for ushijima, if i can figure how to write his personality accurately, absolutely, but that may take a while.

once i get more of the second encounters published i'll start adding some more characters in.

Sugawara Koushi: Second Encounter

First Meeting

Alright the first of the second encounters, lets do this shit!!

mid-writing note: this has gone on for a lot longer than i thought it would, so hopefully it makes up for all the short scenarios for first meetings

Today’s the day, the first day of the Inter-High Prelims

Seijoh’s first match of the day won’t be until later, after the first round

but that doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to watch any of the other teams and their players

specifically Karasuno

namely Sugawara

because you’re whipped from one meeting

as you’re pushing Oikawa through the crowd to make sure he doesn’t get snatched by anymore of his fans, he decides to antagonize Karasuno

“Yoohoo, Tobio-chan, Chibi-chan. How’s the freak duo doing?”

with his cocky attitude and his his stupid peace sign in your face you smack his hand down

“that hurt, Iwa-chan.”

“that wasn’t Iwaizumi, you nitwit”

you’re standing behind him instead, with iwaizumi next to you very pleased with what you’ve done

at the sound of your voice one the players on the court notices you

“What?? Seijoh has an attractive manager, too?! That’s not fair, they have all those fans!”

he’s wearing a different jersey from the rest of the team, so you know he’s the libero, but he wasn’t at the practice match

one of the other members, the captain, walks up to him with his hand on Sugawara’s back

“Ah, but they already has their eyes on Suga. ‘The pretty setter’, as they call him”

“Seriously?!”

“Yah, why is everybody so surprised by that? He’s very attractive so it shouldn’t be that shocking.” you complain

“I think were more shocked at the fact that you’re taking interest in anything at all” Iwaizumi supplies

“Tch”

you look away from them defiantly and catch a very... pretty (winkwonk) picture

Suga’s face is red, just like it was the first time you said something to him

you lean on the railing as you get his attention “Hey, Sugawara”

he looks at you surprised

hes even more surprised when you smile and give him a thumbs up “Good luck in your matches.”

Secret Achievement Unlocked: Encourage the pretty setter

“Yah, why dont you ever wish us luck?!”

‘when will oikawa get rid of his ego,’ you wonder

“Bc i don’t like you”

“That’s mean y/n-chan!”

you walk in front of him to take your seat by the coaches

the rest of the team starts talking about the differences in Karasuno from the practice match

but you can’t help but observe their pret-

you cant help but observe Sugawara

you have got to get used to using his name

after the match is over Seijoh begins to move on so they can practice before their match

they’re upset bc they couldn’t see Karasuno’s freak quick again

you’re upset bc you still haven’t had a chance to see Sugawara play

‘I wanna see what he looks like on the court, too.’ you pout

“Y/n-senpai” Kunimi calls out to you

he’s the only one allowed to call you senpai simply bc hes the only one who gets the bliss of not doing work

“We’re leaving. Oikawa said you wouldn’t be allowed on the court if you didn’t come now”

you looked over to where Karasuno was exiting the court

“That’s fine. Have a fun match kunimi”

“Yah! L/n y/n you’re not allowed to flake on us!” Iwaizumi yells at you

“ah ha...” you resign yourself to follow behind the team “Iwaizumi you suck”

“Yoohoo, y/n-chan! Let’s hope you don’t miss Karasuno’s next match. You won’t see your pretty setter until tomorrow in that case~”

you look at Oikawa as seriously as you can

he looks a little freaked out by it, tbh

“Oikawa, finish this fast. I don’t wanna miss anything.”

“a-ah, yes...”

what you weren’t aware of however, was a certain person eyes on you as you left

once Seijoh finished practicing you made your way back to the court right as Kageyama and Hinata pulled off their freak quick

luckily your team would be playing on the court next to them so it was easy for you to see

the coach puts a hand on your shoulder, “Ah make sure you pay attention to our game, too, y/n-san”

you look at him shocked, hes looking at you with a cheeky smile

“Coach, since when do you joke like that?” one of the team asks, you think it was Kindaichi

“Since our uninterested manager finally became interested in volleyball!” he laughed

“They’re not interest in volleyball, theyre interested in #2″ Iwaizumi teased

“I guess you could say I have become interested in volleyball” you added, much to Iwaizumi’s confusion “but only because I want to see him play.”

‘who knew y/n could be so crazy for a boy’ you’re fellow third years thought

Karasuno’s match ended before Seijoh’s but you managed to hear what they were saying as they left over the sound of Trashy-kawa’s squealing fans

“I do wish my tosses could’ve played a part in the victory” Sugawara commented

‘I’m glad he wants to play, even though the pressure from Kageyama must not be the best’

Seijoh is nearing the end of their first set and Oikawa’s up to serve

once this volley is over you call out to him

“Yah, Oikawa!” he looks at you scared

what did he do wrong

you normally don’t yell at him unless hes done something

what was it, what did he do, what-

“I told you to finish this fast so I didn’t miss anything. Karasuno’s leaving now so I won’t get a chance to congratulate them in person”

“Why don’t you ever congratulate us!”

“bc your ego is big enough, Shitty-kawa.”

“Y/n-chan! You’re just like Iwa-chan!”

“Just serve the ball, Crappy-kawa”

“Iwa-chan~”

you look over at Karasuno and wave when you notice them looking at you

‘good they heard me’

“Y/n-chan~ are you sure you don’t just want an excuse to talk to their ‘pretty setter’“

“Of course I do”

“You’re too blunt about this”

you looked to the coaches confused “Am I supposed to act different?”

they sigh at you exasperated before you take one last look at Karasuno;

Sugawara is flustered and his teammates are laughing

when the match ended with a spike from Kindaichi and the team lined up to thank the crowd you once again saw Karasuno leaving

‘So they stuck around? Of course, they probably wanted to watch the team play seriously’

you pulled on coach’s sleeve and pointed to the exit

you want to catch up to them before they actually leave

he seemed to understand and waved you off

you caught up to them right before they left the building

“Karasuno!” they whipped around to face you

“You did hear me say I wanted to congratulate you, right?”

they seemed touched by that and went into a team bow “Thank you!”

“Ah you’re all so loud...”

“Sorry!”

their coached approached you apprehensively, “You’re Seijoh’s manager, right?”

“Yes”

“What are you doing encouraging us, huh? What kinda-”

“Ah, I’m sorry. It must seem like I’m trying to pull something, but I swear I just want to congratulate your team on their two wins”

unbeknownst to you, your team was now bunched behind a corner trying to listen in

‘We’ve never heard them sound so polite’

however, the coach still looked skeptical of you

“I was kinda forced to take this position, I’m not as into volleyball and the whole competition thing really. But,” you turned to address Sugawara. “I really hope I get to see you play soon, Sugawara” you finished with a smile

‘They never smiles at us either!’

that seemed to, ehm, set (HA) Oikawa off. seeing as he came rushing over before anyone could say anything else

“Okay, that’s enough of that, let’s go!” he ordered pushing you away from Sugawara “We play them tomorrow, you’re not supposed to encourage the enemy!”

‘the enemy?’ “You really are a crappy guy.”

“Y/n-chan, why are you so mean to me~”

they watched you two walk away amused, youre team following

“I think I recognize them” Kageyama suddenly said as they started moving again

Suga looked at him surprised, “You do?”

“Yeah, I think I remember seeing them in the gym during volleyball practice in my first year of junior high. They would only ever talk to Oikawa and Iwaizumi, and they never seemed all that interested in what was happening”

“So they’ve known them for that long?” Hinata asked

“I think maybe longer”
