I finally got around to reading this fic and I'm genuinely blown away by how much love and care you've put into it, you really do know your stuff! As someone who's also been a long and strong fan of Super 17 and Myuu from all the way back in 2004 when GT was new here, it makes me so happy to see them finally getting the full attention and insight they deserve. Finally finished the second draft of chapter three! I don’t think I’ll do many rounds of editing for this one, maybe one more. Glad to have made some progress with it today. Totals at 3,581 words currently.

Well, NaNoWriMo was a wonderful experience. During the month of November, I wrote more than I’ve ever written in my life, and I was able to finish my novel. I attended meet-ups and wrote with people, which was fantastic, and I’ve even written (and finished editing!) a short story for a magazine. Honestly, I have Imperfect Automata to thank for where I am with regards to writing, because it was through this work that I realised how passionate I was about it.

As well as editing my novel, I’ve been looking at Imperfect Automata. Here’s a little excerpt from chapter three:

In the hours of that first night, whatever peace Seventeen had ever known dispelled from him entirely. I had no idea as to how I should handle the muffled rage that soaked through his sleep. For a while I stood and observed as he turned in his torments, his breathing unsteady and forced, one hand clawed against the floor. It was as though he had been taken back to Hell, once more rendered powerless, capable only of struggling against the torrents of that eternal darkness.

This evening I took a little break from doing research for my novel and completed the first draft of chapter three! It’s now just over 3K words, but I imagine it’ll be more once I’ve finished up with editing. It’s a little more sombre than I’d first intended and I’m trying to play with the narrative, but hopefully I can pull it off and make it enjoyable.

* . ✧ October 18th 2018 ✧ . *

It’s been about five months since my last official update on Imperfect Automata, so I figured I would make a post. I’m participating in NaNoWriMo for the first time this year, so currently I’m trying to focus more on my novel. In terms of writing, most of my energy is going to the prep and planning for that, since I’m still worldbuilding and the likes. That said, I’ve still been thinking about this fanfic! 

Yesterday I actually got a surge of inspiration for it (during my terrible morning commute, of all times) and I managed to get nearly 2k words drafted. I’m capping this chapter at 4-5k, so that’s pretty much halfway there. Also, I’m doing a thing that needs to be done well in order to be pulled off successfully, which is switching narrative between third and first. Can I actually pull it off? We’ll see :’) 

Hopefully I’ll get this draft wrapped up soon so I can progress to editing. I’m hoping that my writing quality has improved since the last chapter (I’m making time to write each day, so I’ve been practising!) and that my handling of pacing is a little better.
