Oh! Thank you so much 😊 And yes there were a few things I was going to do or played around with. Here are some fun facts just to give you a bit more 😉

- Originally, I had Satsuki be dead. She was just going to be this character that existed only in Sasaki’s memories, since Mero would’ve been a baby when she died and she wouldn’t remember her at all. I’m afraid their relationship would’ve been the same, with Sasaki not being a very good husband to her when all was said and done, but her death was something that haunted him because of that. He couldn’t really make it right with her in the end. There were a few reasons why I scrapped this. One, I needed Mero to be separated from Sasaki at times, so he could reconnect with Miyano more romantically and sexually, and that would be much MUCH harder for him to do with a five year old with him at all times. I did you around with the idea that she would go with Satoko every now and then, and would get “mother” time with her auntie so she could also be around another girl and Satoko could help her with girl stuff. And two, what with both Miyano’s mom AND Kuresawa’s spouses having passed away, I didn’t really want to add in a third dead spouse. It was just too sad at that point. I’m glad I didn’t kill Satsuki off though, because I ended up really loving her

- Yuki Miyano originally had no love interest. That was literally something that popped into my head as I was writing the chapter Kentaro Hori first appeared in. He was literally a spur of the moment character, but he ended up being one of my favorites and also a fan favorite too for as little as he appeared and even speaking only at one point

- As I’ve said before, I toyed around with the idea of pairing up Kuresawa and Satsuki. Satsuki is a voluptuous glamorous beauty, and i figured Kuresawa deserved a hot new girlfriend after all the pain I put him through. But as I’ve stated, I think Kuresawa dating his best friend’s boyfriend/husband’s ex-wife and mother of their child was too… close. Miyano and Kuresawa will always be very close, so I think it would be too weird. Plus, in a weird way, I think it would be a lot for both Sasaki and Satsuki to watch each other be romantic with someone else, they wouldnt like it

- In the short stories, I debated on who to pair Mero up with. It was a battle between Noriaki and Yuuya Ogasawara. And while it might be weird for Mero and Yuuya to eventually date since they were raised together, they’re technically not related at all. But in the end, not only did Noriaki worm his way into my heart and prove himself to be the better man for future Mero, but I came to realize that Mero and Yuuya ARE the closest thing each other has to a brother or sister whether they’re blood related or not. Sasaki and Ogasawara are far too close with each other and their families to have anyone from said family date each other

- Sasaki and Satsuki were originally a LOT closer. They were what Miyano would eventually come to call Platonic Soulmates. Miyano is his romantic soulmate but Sasaki would come to love Satsuki just as much, just differently. Trying to be romantic with each other is what ruined their marriage, but they also couldn’t live without each other. But as I was writing them, I realized that Satsuki was very hurt by Sasaki. She actually tried very hard to make their marriage work and him leaving her as a very new single mother traumatized her. I realized quickly that Satsuki needed to be separated from him. She needed to move on from him, though it was very hard for her. There’s still remnants of them being Platonic Soulmates in the story, but in the end, Satsuki needed to grow. I wanted her to be a strong woman, but she ended up being stronger than originally planned BECAUSE she was heartbroken and learned to help herself through it
