About Veldian

Original Coining: click!

Veldian, or turian, describes gay men and those adjacent to them, such as gay NBLM. This is not to be confused with terms like achillean and (sometimes) vincian, which refers to any man who likes men, gay or not.

You do not need to use a veldian-specific flag to call yourself a veldian; some the rainbow flag or various other alternatives.

Veldian has a subterm called lavenian, which is meant to encompass those who are gay lavender boys, or gender non-conforming men. (Flag at the bottom of the post!)

The Flag: The flag on the left is a complete redesign of the original veldian flag, whereas the one on the right has the original colors, but with updated brightness and saturation. Both mean the same thing, they're just two versions of the same flag!

Since I've grown a bit in my description-making abilities after creating the term, I've also decided to remake the stripe meanings:

Red-pink: Veldian love, care, and/or relationships.

Yellow: Solidarity and support for other LGBTQ+ people.

Green: Self determination and pride in being veldian.

Blue: Expression in all its forms; masculinity, femininity, androgyny, and how it can tie into one's identity and relationship with veldiasm.

Purple: The foundation of the community; those who came before us, fought for us, and created the community we have today.

History: The veldian term and flag were made back in 2020 at @kenochoric-moved. The term is meant to resemble the word "veldt," as it's a place with a lot of sunlight, grass, and trees, similar in appearance to the flag.
