discourse theory

i am convinced that the discourse in fandom stems from the fact people post their headcanons as FACT and not perspective…….as in straight up saying “arthur morgan is x” instead of “i think/believe/feel arthur is x”.   so people come along and see something said like that and automatically get either confused or defensive and that triggers a reaction that usually isn’t favorable.  perhaps if we were all more considerate of others and took just two seconds to consider the wording of headcanon posts to clarify that they our own personal interpretations of arthur and not actual game canon then things wouldn’t get so heated around here?
