The way Ganondorf was speaking about death makes me think this series is gonna have a bittersweet ending in some way

GUG was always made with the intention of a bittersweet ending since I created the idea with Roy while my dad was fighting against cancer.

It was a safe way to process mortality and the passing of time through the familiar coming of age Zelda narrative.

Life itself is a bittersweet adventure after all!

Here is a picture of my beloved Archie to welcome you to 2025!

2024 was kind of rough, but I had a few successes to celebrate:

-I got back into working on GUG! I know updates are slower, but I'm happy to at least get the comic moving into the final stretch.

-YCH format for $10 backers! These actually have made requests a lot more manageable and fun, so I'm happy to see such a positive reception!

-I made several mini-zines and I started making my own pinback buttons at home! I'll be listing the designs on Etsy here soon!

Here are some of my goals for 2025:

-Apply for more cons! I wasn't able to participate as often last year because of teaching middle school, but now I have a better idea of how to manage my time and work.

-Make more original comics! I did enjoy making some of the mini-comics and I hope to create more.

-Get more work on GUG! I'm looking at doing a 3-page update biweekly. So far it seems much more manageable than updating every week so far.

Thank you all for your support and I hope you all have a fantastic year! What are your goals for 2025?

If Christmas exists in GUG, how would they celebrate?

The Gerudo celebrates the winter solstice, or Longest Night!

On Longest Night, two families share a home with each other for two nights with each family getting a chance to host per night.

Families stay inside, creating shared meals such as hot pot dishes or different types of curry with rice.

They play games together such as Senet, Charades or Pick-Up Sticks.

Here is an example of Senet!

Gerudo youth are especially interested in fortune-telling, often focusing on fortunes involving love or partnership to some degree.

Gifts between families are often acts of service, such as helping the other clean up the house or sharing the load with the cooking, or handmade gifts, such as hand-carved statues of the 7 Heroines/Virtues or toys for children.

I hope this helps give you an idea of Gerudo Christmas or Longest Night! This was a lot of fun to brainstorm!
