Since it seems to be that time of year again, I'd like to wish a Happy anniversary to Shadow and Bone. It is not a perfect adaptation, it's got obvious issues. But it took me through some really tough times. When it was released, I was isolated in my home due to Covid and limited internet access, and there were family problems that involved people I love threatening suicide repeatedly. Had it not been for this show, I might have gone a bit mad. I loved seeing my favorite fictional world come to life with those gorgeous sets. I loved seeing my favorite fictional characters in this new light. The cast of the show were basically therapy for me.

With that being said, let's please take a minute to appreciate these beloved little death monsters

I’m intrigued about which grishaverse antagonists people find the scariest so I made a poll

Rules:

A) no arguments over whether these individuals were villains or not in my notes pretty please if you want to argue you can do it elsewhere (I know we all know I’m talking about one specific character on this list but I’ve chosen characters that are canonically antagonistic ok if you don’t think he’s a villain vote for someone else or don’t vote, there’s no pressure) (I hope that didn’t sound agressive it wasn’t supposed to)

B) if your thought process is “I think that X’s actions put more bad into the world but I was personally more scared of Y”, vote Y

C) I’m mostly thinking about book context but show-only fans are also of course welcome to vote, just bear in mind that you haven’t seen some of these guys and also not all of everyone’s actions have been on screen so everyone’s personal interpretations might not directly match up

The challenge will begin on February 10th and last until the 19th, with the first seven days dedicated to romantic pairings and the next three dedicated to platonic ones as we see Valentine's Day and then move into Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week.

tbh I never understood the whole ‘they only care about you’ trope so many people enjoy, like it’s never appealed to me

it’s part the reason I like Kanej and other soc ships so much, they love each other, yes, but they’ve got connections and people they love outside each other, Inej is not the only person Kaz cares (do not argue with me on this, you’re wrong) about and Kaz is not the only person Inej cares about. Neither are each other’s sole relationship.

We're going to talk about the Grisha triumvirate plus Nikolai, Tolya and Tamar and how they had just as close of a bond as the Crows but the fandom refuses to acknowledge them when it comes to talking about the Found Family trope. These guys are sooo underrated.

I don't love it either which is a huge reason why I love Genyalina so much. But yah, the worst part is the Darkling never changes or even attempts to despite many, many chances. And in many toxic relationships, usually the other person is also a problem but in this one it was mostly Alina just being a victim which is why its not toxic just borderline abuse.

Least favorite Grishaverse Headcannon/ Interpretation?

I'm all for respecting each other's opinions and stuff but some stuff out there really irks me.
