I have so many events coming up in February and I hope it ends up being a fairly good month for my small business. I'll be travelling a bit this month too so hopefully I'll have some decent driving weather.

Things might be looking a bit tough financially for us here. I especially want to make sure my sweet fur-babies get what they need/deserve and keep a roof over our heads.

I know the last post I made was really defeatist and what not and the tone of this one isn't expected to be much better. TikTok and Meta have me scared to hell about what is happening to this country and I want to separate so badly. I just depend on meta for my business. My biggest following are on Instagram and Facebook so not posting there sucks.

I'm hoping I can rebuild on platforms like Tumblr, Cara, Bluesky, and YouTube. I just don't know how I'm going to rebuild and it's terrifying because this is my whole job now. I don't have a back up other than finding another job (which is a hellscape in itself).

I promise my future follow ups won't be so miserable and sad. I'm going to post art again.

I'm not sure how well this will do or even what I'm exactly putting here. I feel just so under pressure to make this work. I see others work as hard as I am and make it but I'm struggling to make more than a few hundred dollars by the end of the month. I want to be able to do what I love and survive financially. I know my partner supports me and wants this to grow as much as I do but I feel so guilty that he goes to work to pay for our house and I'm just struggling to make enough to feel like I'm truly contributing.

To be clear art is my life and I'm not trying to make it sound like I'm only in it for the money but I do need to make some.

I just updated my webstore and I hope it does well but I'm worried it might not be enough.

If it would be possible, could I ask for advice, suggestions, feedback on the website, my work, etc. Thank you for anything Tumblr folks might have to offer, especially reading my little rant 💜

Prepping originals to have up for sale and to make prints with. This year I'm dedicating a lot more time to growing myself in terms of selling work and building a team under the @theartdepartmentny .
