ABOUT ME

I’m a thirty-one-year-old (ENFJ) British/Colombian Philosopher (BA/MA) with a passion for spinning tales! When I’m not working on my novel (details below) you can find me at the movies (A24 films are killing it lately), wandering around a museum, or hanging out at the MET Cloisters (my favourite place on earth).

ABOUT THE BLOG

I’m taking a long overdue gap year to recover from burnout and figure out whether I want to pursue a PhD, so a lot of what you’ll find on this blog are pleasure projects I finally have the time to work on (ahh, I’m so excited!!!). I won’t be posting direct quotations or chapters because my goal is to try for traditional publishing, but I will share just about everything else, from character profiles, location descriptions, step-by-step scene breakdowns, plot skeletons, mood boards, and more! Because I’m a scholar, you can also expect to see the occasional literary analysis or technical tidbit.

CURRENT PROJECT: 🌿  G O R G O N A 🌿  

The reign of the tyrannical Sorcerer King is nearing its end. Age has finally caught up with King Valeriano, and his mind is deteriorating. Desperate to preserve his legacy, he summons his estranged granddaughter, Guacamaya (”Maya”), from exile and appoints her as his successor. The decision surprises everyone, especially Maya, who was banished from the palace with her family as a child and hasn’t seen or heard from her grandfather since. Despite their troubled past, Maya agrees to be his heir, if only to prevent a usurper from assassinating her family. However, succession proves far more challenging than she had anticipated. To maintain her grip on power, she must navigate a treacherous court and survive the mad king’s increasingly erratic and dangerous outbursts.
