I don't remember actually talking on this blog yet. So sorry for that. Being alone with high ambitions is hard when you have a full time job and struggle to find motivation and keep a consistent schedule and also keep good mental health.

Ive seen the advice of "Join game jams to get more experience." But oddly enough that makes me more stressed out, so I haven't joined another after the first one.

However I have found a game project I've been working on consistently and i hope to show it off soon. I just don't want to jump the gun before I have most of it planned out.

When i saw the polyartober prompt list i wanted to try and do fandom ships i have but i really only felt like drawing my ocs.

I mentioned before I'm trying to make a VN game so when I saw the extra prompts and the words Murder Mystery i was like 👀 "Omg My games a murder mystery." so I think i'll do mainly those. I really cant do all 31 days

Right now I'm in a writing phase of Chimera but I've always had certain things I want in the game. One was having potential LI that were optional.

And one end game was a poly ship between the Player character:

Choice of Grant or Presley

and 2 support characters, Nawra and Nyx

though i can see all 4 of them in a ship within story context. obviously that's a lot to manage so for now, that part of the game is still WIP. I'll post prompts here but actual game dev posts will be on @goodpapergames

basically I think that if your protagonist doesn’t want to fuck someone so bad it makes them look stupid, then there probably isn’t enough energy in your story. “Fuck someone” isn’t literal btw—they can want to uncover the secrets of their parent’s death, they can want to prove their worth, they can want a donut from one particular bakery—it can be anything so long as they want it so bad that they’ll make decisions that make any sane person go “are you a moron??”, with little to no forethought, or even tons of forethought and this is still the option they chose. Because they want to fuck that thing so bad.

Lost in Limbo Demo Sneak Peek Review - Seducing Seven Sexy Gods

Thanks to the awesome folks at @ravenstargames I had the chance to check out their upcoming dark fantasy romance visual novel, Lost in Limbo—and it is amazing! I streamed the entire demo over on my Twitch channel last week and I was impressed with the quality visuals, in depth storytelling, immersive fantasy world, and the endearing and fun characters.

DEV LOG: 2023 Recap!

We wanted to post this update at the end of Dec, but time got away from us! We have a lot to look back at in 2023...

❁ We released Trouble Comes Twice!

We're very proud to have released our first game as a studio!

There were some rough patches, so we are forever thankful for the support from our players, backers, patrons, family, friends, and the talented freelancers who helped this project become more than just a dream.

Although we couldn't be more grateful for the positive reception, we're also noting down feedback and criticism for future projects. We're confident that our experiences working on TCT will help us make even better games in the future!

❁ Trouble Comes Twice: Bonus Stories!

Trouble Comes Twice: Bonus Stories is a DLC we've been working on for the past months and it's also going to be our last major public update to the game before we bid goodbye to these characters.

This DLC isn't a sequel or anything major, it's more like a collection of short bonus stories (hence the name) so it'll be relatively inexpensive. We mostly recommend it to players interested in more than one of the couples, that way you'll get the most out of the content! We don't dare to promise an exact release day yet, but we're currently wrapping up coding and should begin testing before the month's up. So probaaaably February for the release?

❁ Burn the Midnight Oil

Towards the end of 2023, early production began on our next visual novel Burn the Midnight Oil. You can catch a small sneak peek at two of the six romance options above.

Starring vampires, demons and other horrors of the night - it's a supernatural neo-noir romance drama set in a fictionalized version of 80s England. The player steps into the shoes of the vengeful private detective Circe, a vampire infamous for hunting her own kind and the reluctant cop Dante, a short-tempered half-demon torn between his human side and the world of the supernatural.

We're excited for everyone to meet Circe, Dante and the rest of the cast when we officially announce this project later this year!

Winter Visual Novel Jam is an annual game jam that runs during the month of December to make a winter-themed visual novel!

It’s not a competition- there’s no judging, no rankings, and you can finish a previously start on visual novel. Just make a winter-themed visual novel and have fun ♥ Dating sims, otomes, gay games, linear stories, etc. are welcome as long as they’re a visual novel!

Hey,

I'm Silk and this will be the official dev log for all projects currently under development by me. I am a single dev team with hopes to grow but for now I am the sole artist, writer and coder. I have a full time job and am new to writing so I'm slow going but I like doing it.

I'm developing a few visual novel games that are in various stages of pre-dev that I will be sharing on here and post updates on as they go.

I'm also here because my previous devlog was on Twitter and we all know where that's going.

Here's a few of my games currently in development!

Chimera is planned to be a bigger project broken up into different games. For now it is a point and click visual novel adventure.

Once, in a Dream is planned to be a free to play game I devised while I practiced coding an in depth routes system in Ren'Py.

You play as the Ole Lukøje, aka the Sandman, whose purpose in life is to grant the children dreams while they sleep. Though you travel to many worlds, you can only exist in one of the mind. On your journey you meet 3 peculiar little girls; two who are trapped in an endless slumber and can forever dream, and another who dreams of never growing up, and somehow gets her wish...without you.

This last one is only one concept art deep but I like it enough to make real. Furry dating sim where you're the child of a newly elected politician and are thusly now involved in the intergalactic politics of everyone else. Will you keep the peace or pursue your own interests?

Working title is Star Furs, aka all the star fox fan fiction i never wrote down.

I'll be posting more about each project as it goes but if you like any of these, I hope you'll enjoy following my development of them. Feel free to ask me questions.
