‘Good Morzan AU’ and ‘Reformed Morzan AU’ run by Cs-cabin-and-crew. A fun little project I started about of Morzan was a redeemed character and changed for the better for his son. Art, animatics, fan fiction, canon takes and goofiness can all be found here! Alongside updates and short fanfics that take place outside the main story.

One added thing I can think of is when video technology also joins in and Roran and Murtaugh would LOVE those plane fight videos.
Hiii! I was thinking about a funny implication from the books. If dragon riders and their dragons are pretty much immortal as long as nothing happens to either one of them, that would mean that they’d see all kinds of technological advancements. Even though the world in the IC is a fantasy one, who’s to say that people wouldn’t eventually invent airplanes and rockets as we know them?
Which brings me to my funny mental image of Saphira snarking over how delicate airplanes are (they only have seven “feathers”, can’t twist around to avoid things, and don’t bond with their riders, pitiful!) XD She might appreciate supersonic flight and rocket launches however. Thorn might find the size of cockpits concerning, even the big ones. Fírnen might think planes and rockets are cool simply because I can see him always being the enthusiastic baby of the group.
As an aside, Orrin’s descendants might invent the first airplane/rocket if the dwarves don’t get to it first haha.
What do you think our favorite rider/dragon duos would say about flying machines?
*rubs hands together* This is what my blog is made for.
ERAGON: Would despise planes! They allow significantly less control and involvement. He would just be anxiously sitting there. I think he would be extremely fascinated in new technology, but not trust it very easily. Loves it on the ground though!
ARYA: Wants to and will fly the aerial machinery. Has created complex forms of aerodynamics and will proceed to challenge Firnen’s top speed, then move on and challenge the top speed of other airplanes. Crash imminent, care zero.
ORIK: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH TURN THIS BLASTED GOAT-LOVING, ARSE-KISSING, HORSE PIE LICKIN THING OFF!!! ERAGON!! HVEDRA: *sips tea*
RORAN: *maniacal goblin sounds* Would definitely want to use any life-saving gear in the plane just for the sake of it. Wants to understand the mechanics of the plane but doesn’t, so he just enjoys learning about it and makes off with a hopefully not important piece of metal.
GARZHVOG: Not okay with the pressure-in-your ears part of flights, but accepts it because of the little packets of peanuts you get during the ride.
NASUADA: Clutching the seat in front of her with great dignity. Did NOT fund this technology project.
ELVA: Sticking her feet into the seat of the person in front of her.
ORRIN: Helped design, create, and fund the making of this plane. Had an amazing time. Still extremely interested in reminding himself how everything works. Probably would get airsick (he strikes me as the type) but he doesn’t care.
MURTAGH: Would prefer to be with Thorn in literally any scenario but will accept it if he has to as long as it’s clean. Could not care less about the mechanics as long as they work, BUT he does love watching planes.
The dragons watch the planes go by, their heads in perfect sync. Saphira sniffs disdainfully, Thorn glares at it, not fully convinced it isn’t designed to either capture and contain him or maybe captured humans, Glaedr’s eyes are closed but if he doesn’t move his head Saphira will nip his tail, and Fírnen is genuinely curious about these things but a little miffed that they (at least, modern airplanes) can beat him in a race.

Hello, everyone! I know this is outside of my usual posts, but I wanted to tell everyone about my side blog—dedicated to my original world/series, Hirahan!
@hirahan is centered around four main characters.
Erimyn Tarras, a commander in the rebellion army who has against his will been the cause for much of the chaos in the land, which haunts him. He now wants to fix it. He is an elf-like magician with social anxiety and we love him.
Elora Mirasdaughter, one of the minor captains of the rebellion army (but growing in rank) alongside being sister to Lani and Corim, and having an aunt name Mariane who refuses to follow personal requests. Especially when it comes to Erimyn, who may be afraid of her. Elora is an archer, and a good one, but she’s also clever and helps with many of the battle plans.
Elwin (no-name), an exiled magic-free elf taxidermist who has helped the army undercover for years. Animals, plants, healing—he’s the person. He’s mostly proficient in the Common tongue and loves to fuel Erimyn’s love for moths, fish, and all things bioluminescent. He views Erimyn as his grumpy socially inept peer.
Livik, leader of a small subgroup of dwarves who split off from a larger division. Maintains a love-hate relationship with his friend group, would die for them but also insult them frequently, and has the best battle axe north of the Delsni Tribes.
It follows a fight against not only King Moraias, but the out-of-control undercover magic operation his men are running even without his knowledge, leaving them to fight more battles than one without the resources—or the information they need.
There are many types of dragons and other fantasy animals, different cultures, governments, wildlife (including plants), medicine, a full unique magic system, and a lot more!
I really appreciate any and all support, and thank you all so much for being there for me and my little Eragon blog! I really appreciate it. Take care, guys! Love you!

Me, circa 7-to-10-ish years ago, having finished Inheritance, book 4 of the Inheritance Cycle, for the first time: *sobbing* What do you MEAN Eragon never goes back, he’s never gonna see ANYONE, EVER again, except maybe ARYA over the PHONE!?!?
The Fork, the Witch, and the Worm: So anyway, Eragon FaceTimes Arya over his weekends, and he does business calls with everyone else anyway, and he got a video from Murtagh saying he might visit soon —and, really, he can just bring Roran with him, there’s no reason not to, it’s been awhile— and then Angela and Solembum and Elva stopped by for a while to say hi and they worked together for a few weeks, and THEN—
Me, now, having FINALLY read The Fork, the Witch, and the Worm, the side book of the Inheritance Cycle: Oh, fr, fr? Say less, king, go off. :D

Not inheritance related
But went and saw Superman today and there was a cute chunky baby (no more than 11 months) sitting in front of us and he waved and smiled at me. And I was lowkey watching him the whole 2 hours instead of the movie half the time cause he was so cute.
I love babies in public trying to people
Just thought everyone should know

I now present @umunschaas’s blog personified to my brain
Tumblr media
Introducing Mouse the patchwork dragon! Very much inspired by the plushie designs by Umunchaas!
Mouse is just a goofy little thing, and it’s friend Cheese the mouse is actually the one that carries the post in my brain. But mouse delivers it XD.
Outside of that there’s really no rhyme or reason to why mouse is the way it is outside of that one fact. But mouse is adorable so I don’t question it.

Me: it’s late. I should go to bed
Brain: draw Gorb
Me: no it’s late.
Brain: Gorb is love, Gorb is life.
Me: please… no Gorb
Brain: GORRRBBB!
Me: NO!
Brain: draw other mutuals/inheritance blogs as the mascots you imagine them as.
Me: *grabbing my phone to do a quick pose sketch* oh dear lord…
Anyway. It’s like 1:30am and I need to go to bed like I said I would instead of reading.
But @thearunadragon @umunschaas @everythingloveandanimated @5nakeb4it prepare yourselves (unless asked not to be given a goofy art mascot lol)
Aruna you are aware of Gorb. But the others… please be aware that my brain is mush and I am mentally unstable, so your mascots will reflect that.
(I have mascots for others so like… more of yall will be attacked. Just so you know.)

What’s funny about Eragon is that I project my VERY adhd habits onto him only for others to be like “That isn’t canon?” or to have the same idea as me.
I love him so much.

The question is, why wouldn’t he be? 👀
(It just means it’s more annoying for everyone around the table lol)
Nasuada face in her hand, mentally to Murtagh: I know you can hold a grudge like it’s a life line, but now you’re just being petty.
Murtagh: (some kind of smile in acknowledgment)
I have very little in the way of a concrete scene for this exchange. But it was too good to not share.

(First; this isn't aimed at anyone specific, I've just been pondering about it over the past weeks... mostly after seeing reddit posts.)
Some IC characters feel way too underrated and shittily talked about. Despite their developments being pretty understandable (if maybe not an excuse, but that should be obvious) and understandably written.
And I've been thinking, on how they would be pretty normal people in any AU where shit didn't happen to them.
Orrin starting to drink, because he struggles to deal with the war (and perhaps his role as a king).
Sloan being very controlling and overprotective over Kathrina, because he's afraid of loosing her, like he has lost his wife.
Elva turning snappy and perhaps even cruel at times, because of the situation she's been forced into, never really having been just a child, added to the pain she constantly has to feel.
Galbatorix going insane, because of loosing Jarnunvösk and his friends (and and all that he went through after).
Durza becoming a Shade, because his teacher was killed.
Also - and this is really difficult to say because I really don't like these guys :'D - who's to say that perhaps even the Twins went through shit that simply made them crave the power to stomp everyone else into the dirt?
Personal whining you can feel free to ignore (and I don't claim to never have made mistakes like that myself):
Also I'm tired of starting to read interesting sounding AUs (canon-divergence, but especially in another universe alltogether) and the characters are still pressed into their canon behaviours.
Why not take the opportunity to explore the possibilities and reactions of characters under wholly different circumstances? (Which obviously doesn't mean that you have to write characters as 'angels' lol - Sloan definitely has a bit of a short fuse, but if his wife Ismira were around, he def would listen to her every word ... headcanon, I guess.)

When I am hyper fixated on an author and their books and making a crap ton of fanart and writing fanfic. But it’s not for the Fandom i actually have a blog and a minor following on, and where I promised I’d be hyper-fixated:
Tumblr media
…. So uhhh… if any of yall want a new good fantasy/sci-fi author go ahead and check out my other blog… sorry ya’ll… Emily Mccosh calls to me. (Honestly if anyone who likes the found family part of inheritance and the flowery world of the Faerie, go try out her ‘Under the earth over the sky’ book. There’s a baby. And a grouchy grandpa that would love the Chancla)
(Fan blog: @allshewrites-mccosh-fan-blog)
