I cant remember even thinking this but

Imagine soda always being the guy to say "this is why we cant have nice things" and one day Darry asks what those nice things are, and soda just says "parents"

What if Johnny got out of the church in time, but Pony didn’t?

Imagine Johnny, just killing a man with a switchblade, knowing that Dallas should have pulled Pony out first. Imagine him sitting at the hospital, wanting to throw up because it was all his fault, and Pony shouldn’t have been caught up in all of this in the first place. Imagine him not being able to look Darry or Soda in the eyes while they’re all crowded around Pony’s hospital bed.

Imagine Pony dies, and Johnny’s the one that makes it out alive.
