i was saying i’m not surprised by him being a rapist. i was saying he probably was also even more turned on by it bc his writing proved himself to be fucked up and into a lot of taboo shit. that being said, ppl who as i said “share kinks similar to him” -rough, degradation and just doing sick stuff- have a significantly higher chance of being rapists bc there is nothing more degrading than raping someone. obviously those girls will describe their experience as rough and degrading as rape is that exactly (at least in their context) but i could almost bet on it, that in consensual situations with long trusting sexual relationships he may have had with other women, he was as sadistic as they get.

that post was NEVER me arguing that “he may just be kinky” i was merely saying that to me as someone who cared about work, he liked fucked up stuff i’m not surprised he raped two girls. i am extremely disappointed but it was not a shock to me.

as someone who used to be a very proud and avid reader of Neil Gaimen i must say one thing on this topic:

although i wouldn’t expect him to be of this level (as in being a rapist), but it’s pretty clear in his writing he’s not particularly ‘vanilla’. I’m not phased by his tendency for rough and degrading sex, i don’t have an issue with that -as long as everyone wants that duh -

this is in no way to say that those two things can match directly , but often people with kinks similar to his would enjoy non-consensual behaviour yk.
