Clouded Silver
Wings covered in silky, velvet dust
The sweetest of nectar came from
the ones she could not trust
From a safe cocoon
Her antennae did unfurl
A warm summer night in June
When he compared her to the butterflies
She told him that they could keep their
Vibrant hues and royal blue skies
For she preffered to glisten in the shadows
Of the light source that positions her
Those twenty nights her immortality
Clouded silver was her name
She came alive at night.
Living only for a flame.

It’s funny how
you always knew
In my darkest
Moments you’d always
came through
It’s like a bird came
and trilled at your window
And told you in song
That I was feeling low
How many times you saved me
You’ll never know
To you the world
I do owe

Galaxy Eyes
I have sat amongst the stars
Slid freely on Saturn’s rings
Danced with life on Mars
Dipped my fingers in the milky cosmos
Drunk from Titan’s mystic rivers
Oceans of lava I’ve jumped across
If only you knew
That when tears
Fall from your baby blue’s
I would waste a lifetime
Only to fix you
Because In your eyes I see
The most wonderful
Galaxies glittering back at me

CANCER
We lived in the sunshine
Before you were diagnosed
Just a stomachache
Or so the doctor’s supposed
Then grew a black tar pit in your lung;
and lopsided skin soaked in chemo
Just 11 years old without a mum.
After school one day
I’ll never forget,
Dad told me you had passed away
( and all I could utter was an ‘ok’)
And With a firm grip on depression’s bars
Came soaked pillows
And decorated wrists with unlovely scars
But now I see you every night;
Sparkling amongst delivered stars.

Bitter pill on my tongue
Do they realise how much
To you I am clung
All my demons you chase away
Just so that I-
Can live another day
