Giorgio Luceri could fill a boxed set with his Selected Recordings and it would sell out. More than that, it’d appreciate: you’d want a copy even after the (still young) producer had doubled, tripled, come up with a half dozen volumes of a similar size.

May 2018 saw Luceri return to Mathematics for the unexpectedly soulful seance Can’t Move On Without U, lead off by the Gregg Fore-voiced “I Am Love.” Like an R&B ballad fractured and pieced back together in a new, dynamic shape, “I Am Love” is a triumph. THIS is what I want Soulful House to be but which it so often falls short of: passionate vocals, innovative sounds, drenched in soul and wonderful to lose a night or your mind dancing to it.
