The first three "Fear Street" movies had SUBSTANCE and LAYERS. The anti-capitalist themes of how Sunnyvale and the Goode family quite literally leeched off of Shadyside. The plot was original, had twists and turns, and challenged the viewer's assumptions. And there was EXPLICIT gayness. No hurr durr durr implied queer characters, but characters who were UNAMBIGUOUSLY QUEER.

"Fear Street: Prom Queen" was a fucking cookie cutter slasher plot that, like a lot of modern horror movies, leaned WAAAAY too much on CGI gore. It added PRACTICALLY NOTHING to the themes of the first three movies, and was very obviously trying to ride on their coattails.
