I struggle about having a civil conversation with someone who doesn’t believe I should have rights to my body and believes certain people should be second-class citizens.

There’s no lack of understanding there. There are misogyny and bigotry, and those don’t belong in civil conversations.

There is so many things I want to rant about.

The head of one of the largest entertainment talent agencies refused to fund Biden and thus, his celebrity clients came out against Biden - Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Aaron Sorkin, and more. Heck - Jon Stewart’s first show back was to attack Biden’s age. (I still maintain if people didn’t want Biden to run, they needed to say BEFORE the primary.)

Non-college educated white women were not swayed at all by the Democrats�� message. Apparently, “Hey, I’m going to save your lives and make your lives better” doesn’t resonate well with voters, despite the Biden-Harris administration doing the work for four years.

Also, half of the people arrested at campus protests supporting Palestinians were not affiliated with the colleges, showing that moment was co-oped by outside forces (who attacked Harris, not Trump).

Racism, misogyny, and ignorance are our enemies, and education is the solution. But the current president-elect is poised to disband the Department of Education, so our fight continues uphill.

Personal anecdote - I didn’t want Biden in 2020. I soooooo did not want Biden. I was a Warren supporter, but after he became the Democratic candidate, I learned more and eventually loved him as president.

I didn’t want Harris this year. I feared our electorate was too racist and misogynistic, and I believe I was unfortunately proven right. But Harris was the consummate candidate and leader. I absolutely loved her and her campaign.

I don’t think Leftists are as far apart as they think. Like you said, the Left needs to learn how to fall in line. I just hope we don’t learn too late.

I think a lot of "here is what Harris did wrong" fail to consider that Trump could literally rape a Republican's child in front of them and they'd still vote for him.

At what point can we acknowledge that winning against a cult leader is extremely hard no matter how good your strategy is?

It's like how Fox News lies shamelessly all the time, but Lefty shows have to triple check everything because if they get one thing wrong they get dragged as liars for years.

Winning against a cult leader requires two things: unity, and falling in line. And the fact is that Lefties hate slightly different Lefties, and would rather fall dead than fall in line. That's why the orange fuck keeps winning.

the only post-mortem I'm willing to post right now, based on the candidate results vs. ballot referendum results: Democratic policies are clearly popular. Electing Democrats who will actually pass and protect those policies is apparently not.

Hm. That’s a good question.

Probably a very old fic that wrote called “Catcher.” It’s a Bat Family fic where Dick/Robin is kidnapped by Ra’s Al Ghul. He returns a few year later, a trained assassin, and struggles to re-assimilate with his family and friends while also completing one last mission for Ra’s.

There are things I would change now, but the plot points are coherent and logical.

There are others from Voltron I probably like more, but I feel “Catcher” could actually work in canon.
