Time for some sad news, folks….Ralph Baer, famed creator of the first ever gaming system The Odyssey, has died at the age of 92 as of December 6th.
The ‘Father of Video Games’ has received awards for his breakthrough in interactive gaming and has created some of the coolest toys of all time, and his achievements don’t stop there. Widely considered a technological genius, Ralph’s mark on the industry will be remembered for ages to come. Thank you for all you’ve done!

Never thought to have a human Pokemon representative in Smash, but Zinnia is cool. These are awesome ideas and I love how in depth the creator went into. She could move around like she does in cut scenes in the game, a weird way lol. Idk if I would actually like her though, the Salamance ideas seem complicated.
Zinnia (Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire)
-Middleweight (from combined weight of Zinnia and Aster
-Can crawl
Zinnia’s attacks
Neutral attack: Punches.
Forward tilt: Slaps the opponent; Aster joins in with its ears.
Up tilt: Uppercut. Aster joins in with its ears.
Down tilt: Aster uses Pound. It leaves Zinnia open on the rear, however.
Dash attack: Zinnia somersaults into a landing.
Forward smash: Aster screams and launches the opponent.
Up smash: Zinnia tosses Aster in the air and they attack together.
Down smash: Zinnia jumps on the opponent, smashing him/her with a flurry of kicks, before the final blow.
Neutral aerial: Aerial spinning hook kick
Forward aerial: Side kick
Back aerial: Zinnia turns around with a sideways hammerfist.
up aerial: Flamethrower—Aster belches a small jet of fire upwards.
Down aerial: Downwards kicks.
Grab: Zinnia has a shorter grab range than most fighters.
Pummel: Aster smacks the opponent with its ears.
Forward throw: Aster screams and damages the opponent before launching him/her
Back throw: Zinnia spins the opponent around before kicking him/her backward with a flourish
Up throw: Zinnia crouches and Aster shouts, sending the grabbed opponent skyward
down throw: Zinnia slams the opponent into the ground
Floor attack (front): Zinnia grabs Aster and swings it into the ground before getting up and swinging Aster back on her shoulder.
floor attack (back): Zinnia sweeps backwards before getting up.
Floor attack (trip): Zinnia swings around to trip other players before getting up.
Edge attack
Neutral special: Hyper Voice—Aster screams, affecting a radius around Zinnia.
-Custom 1: Boomburst—Greater range and power, does not cause flinching
-Custom 2: Uproar—Lasts longer and causes more knockback, but with less damage
Side special: Dragon Claw—Salamence grabs Zinnia and they slash the opponent in either direction.
-Custom 1: Dragon Rush—More power, but less range
-Custom 2: Double-edge—More power, but damages Zinnia as well
Down special: Dragon Tail—Counter move. Zinnia calls out Salamence when attacked and it uses Dragon Tail.
-Custom 1: Easy Dragon Tail—Longer counter pose, but less power
-Custom 2: Quick Dragon Tail—Faster attack with less power.
Up Special: Fly—Salamence grabs Zinnia and flies upward. Great vertical, not so much horizontal.
-Custom 1: Tailwind—Salamence, instead of flying straight upward, flies off to the side. Deals more damage but has lesser vertical recovery; instead, it improves Zinnia’s horizontal recovery.
-Custom 2: Steel Wing—Salamence dives up, then straight down, taking Zinnia with it. Deals more damage, but is more risky to use than Zinnia’s standard Fly.
Final Smash: Dragon Ascent—Zinnia shouts to the background and summons Rayquaza from the sky. Zinnia throws the Smash Ball to Rayquaza, who eats it and allows her to Mega Evolve it. It then uses Dragon Ascent to sweep the stage horizontally twice. Zinnia can move while Rayquaza uses Dragon Ascent. Mega Rayquaza’s attack deals a massive amount of damage and takes up most of the screen.
Zinnia’s taunts
-Sticks her tongue out at the player, while Aster waves like Kirby
-Flips her hair, huffing. Aster mimics her.
-Does her monkey thing from Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire. Aster dances.
Onscreen Appearance
Arrives on Salamence, before calling the Pokémon back. Aster jumps on her shoulder.
Alternate costumes
Standard appearance from OR/AS
Shirt colors based on shiny Salamence
White shirt, darker cloak, blue accents on shirt and belt
Blue shirt, red cloak with white dragon scales, red accents on shirt and belt
Uses Aster’s color scheme. Aster becomes Shiny.
Uses Salamence’s color scheme. Salamence becomes shiny.
Colors resemble May’s color scheme.
Colors resemble Brendan’s color scheme.
Palutena’s Guidance
Pit: Huh? I’ve never seen her before, but that squishy marshmallow on her shoulder looks like a Pokémon.
Viridi: That’s ‘cause it IS a Pokémon, genius! That’s Zinnia, the lore keeper of the Draconid people.
Palutena: Zinnia is from a different Hoenn region than we’re used to; in her timeline, humans have figured out the secrets of Pokémon’s Mega Evolution.
Viridi: Oh, but don’t worry about that. UNLESS Zinnia gets the Smash Ball. She’s got the legendary dragon Rayquaza on call!
Pit: So now it’s three against one?! Not fair!
Viridi: Will you calm down? You simply have to keep the Smash Ball away from Zinnia so she can’t send her dragon-B-F-F soaring across the field with its Dragon Ascent move.
Pit: Easy-peasy. It doesn’t look like she can take to the air too well.
Viridi: Oh, did I mention she has a second friend? With wings?
Pit: Oh, come on! FOUR AGAINST ONE?!
Palutena: Even without Rayquaza, Zinnia packs quite a punch with her partners Aster and Salamence. You’ve especially got to watch out for Salamence’s Dragon Tail. Don’t attack if you see Zinnia holding up her Poké Ball.
Graphite, colored pencil, marker.

Here's our theme for December.
The avatar is Toad, since I'm uploading this on Dec 5, 2015 - the release date for Toad Treasure Tracker here in North America.
The header is a scene from the Smash Bros Duck Hunt Trailer, which I Christmas-ified. DK is Santa, Duck Hunt Dog is Rudolph, Bowser is Frosty, Mario and Link are elves, Pit is an angel (hard one huh), and Samus was my best try at making a Russian Snow Princess (Snegurochka).
Hope you enjoy.
The colors are red and green for Christmas.
We hope everyone has a good holiday season.
