ARFID Journey intro and update 1

Hello! You know me as a selfshipper/yumeshipper, but I also struggle with different mental and physical issues. One of the most recent diagnosis's I got was for ARFID. I've always struggled with certain foods and textures and was always called a picky eater, when in reality it was an ED. I first got diagnosed with being Autistic in 2022, then got the ARFID diagnosis in 2024. If you don't know what ARFID is, it stands for Avoidance/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. I have low iron, low vitamin D, and don't get a lot of nutrients. I am overweight because I usually only eat unhealthy food because it's hard for me to eat fruits and veggies because of textures. Even eating things like burgers with cheese or more is hard for me. There's food I really love that sometimes will make me gag because the texture suddenly makes me sick. I am working with my therapist though to do exposure therapy. I have tried carrots, strawberries, canned yams, brussel sprouts, and different smoothies. I've only liked the brussel sprouts, and struggle with the strawberries immensely because of the little seeds. Anything with seeds, rubbery texture, anything like that makes me gag and reject it. Update 1: I have a chocolate covered strawberry with me right now and I'm going to try it. Wish me luck!
