So as some of you know I've been sick for the past two months with abominal pain. I've been doing a lot of doctor visits and will be doing one tomorrow, so far the cause of the pain hasn't been figured out and I'm still stuck resting a lot, I've recently been able to get a game I've wanted for a while so i will also be playing that a lot and thus might not be as active and more lurking on here. I just wanted to let everyone know what's going on so there are no assumptions or some of you breaking into my private messages, even if I do appreciate it.

The stars have halo's? @xhatake

The cold brisk air that seems intent to find a way past all his clothing to try and chill him to the bone. Unsuccessful given he's learned how to deal with the extreme cold, he still struggles with heat, how ironic. However, despite the way his knees ache from the trip so far, he knows it's been a long journey. He's almost envious of the stamina the man currently to his left has ( and they said you were past your prime what a load of shit ) if he'd had a fraction of that he'd spend it into learning how to swiftly manuever through the trees better, even now his cheeks burn with heat at remembering how he'd crashed clean through a tree by launching himself at the wrong angle, sure it took the enemy down but it took him down too. It could have been a costly mistake and he'd immediately gone to the training area himself, practicing, pushing, unrelenting. He poured blood, sweat and sometimes tears into his efforts and yet he still seemed to be behind. He only ever seemed to truly improve in real battles? Was that because the instinct to survive forced his body to become better or some ridiculous theory? Couldn't be. Still, the silence is filled by the ever calm and unwavering Jonin's voice, banishing away the intrusive thoughts that nipped at him.

Tilting his head back like he could see, observant eyes might see the way his hand raises to the band that always covers his eyes, hiding the gruesome sight beneath away from everyone. He was disfigured the doctor told him, so he must save everyone else from seeing such a hideous wound right? Still, he slightly pulls it up ever slightly, to let the cold air kiss the upper segment of his face a bit, but not enough to see what laid beneath as he adjusts it before letting it rest over his eyes again. A clear night sky, his earliest memories are all blurry but he tries to recall them as best he can, all he can remember is the sky of that night. So he will use that for a reference, though the stars having halo's? Now that was a funny thought given the silly drawings of angels he had once been able to see. Stars couldn't have halo's. Could they?

Still, it wasn't unheard, a warmth in the depths of that voice. It....it was nice. It was reassuring and it brought a comfort he could never truly admit to Kakashi. Not ever. He couldn't ever tell the man that he had become an idol, almost a parental figure to him. He atleast paid attention to him more than his dad, Itachi had always been the one doing that for the most part. A faint mirthful noise escaping him, the slightest curve of the edge of his lips. "Thanks....Kakashi.....Would you mind rebreifing me on the mission at hand. What were we sent out here for again? I want to make sure I haven't missed any of the details. I wasn't able to hear it all and I'm certainly no good with letters shoved into my hands."

So...it was his mind playing tricks on him. Of course, if his eyes couldn't do it then his mind would to make up for it he supposed. He'd thought he'd escape that but he supposed not, that's a bit discouraging as he gives a faint grimace at some of the words. Phantom pain, he's heard about it so much, from the Shinobi who had lost legs, arms and so forth in battles or the old wars. He doesn't like recalling so much pain, it's disgusting. Really it, does no one thing that when they hurt that those who care about them don't also hurt? To hear their pain would always tug at emotions that lay beneath the surface, it was just another universal fact. Listening intently despite it as he slowly brings the band up a bit, as if debating on putting it back on, more so because he just doesn't want anyone else to see. Finally deciding on doing so after a bit, he places the band back, tying the end behind his head as he exhales slowly. It feels like a relief with it on. "Guess this will be on a list. Naruto lost the last one.-"

"-Oh, there's some type of writing out there. I met someone from the land of earth during...well... but they actually had given me writing that I could read. It's some type of engraved writing where I can feel the letters? I forget what it's called. Thought it was interesting and maybe that could become something here? I know other shinobi and civilians who struggle like I do." He's using little hand gestures, trying to as if use those gestures to better tell her the story but fumbling a bit with telling it. Clearly annoyed he can't remember what it was called.

Unable to tell if she was gazing or not, while the bundle of nerves in his body going into a fritzed mess for finally showing someone he trusted what had exactly happened. It still felt better to hide it away most of the time, yet at times he missed feeling the wind on his face. A single brow raising and giving a bit more range if expression than what had to be guessed when he had the band on. The squinted look at being told he wouldn’t understand, he did want to try at the very least, he supposed it wasn’t going to matter in this current moment, opting to just listen and remain still. A short noise of exasperation escaping him at the fact the work hadn’t been done properly, more than likely why it was itchy at times, but to hear someone explain Phantom Pain truthfully to him instead of darting around and not is a relief more than she’ll know. A soft note escaping himnas he slightly seemed to perk at the offer to dull the pain, it might not work entirely but he’d take it given at the moment all he wanted to do was scratch at it. Still if that meant it was more psychological, that meant it was just his nerves and mind suggesting- no, it was his mind playing tricks on him per usual.

“It’s…alright if you can’t.” He finally utters his words, a bit hesitant because he’s not sure how to say them. He didn’t want to hurt her feelings, if anything he was just grateful for answers. They meant more to him than she might realize given the amount of lies he’s often encountered in life. “So it’s my mind tricking me? That wouldn’t be a surprise. How would I begin to stop that…” or was it something that he couldn’t? Something else he’d have to learn to live with, like…no. no he’s not gonna think of that as he gives a curt nod.

“I wouldn’t know the best course of action here. I trust your judgment.”

     Sakura reprimands herself to focus. She’s had plenty of patients whose conditions were directly tied to psychological issues before, and this should be no different. Still, she bites her lip in hesitation, then tentatively says, ❛  I’d say your body remembers the trauma of the pain dealt to your face. This causes your brain to send pain signals to your body. Even if your wound is healed up by now, your brain hasn’t forgotten the painful sensation. So, in a way… You are right…  ❜ That’s why the human body is complex: doctors can only do so much, and Sakura knows this is how life works. Pain doesn’t go away so easily, and healing is slow — and trauma is deep. ❛  If all you get are headaches, then that’s good. I’ve had some patients who’ve experienced constipation or burning aches with their phantom pain.  ❜ She cups her chin thoughtfully. ❛  For now, I think it’s safe to prescribe you with some special cream. It’s something I received from Shizune-san, and it should help with the itchiness. Phantom pain can also worsen at night, given that your mind relaxes, and it might disturb the signals your brain is sending to your body. I’ll have to prescribe you with medication for the headaches — but make sure to take it moderately. One pill every six hours.  ❜
