Adam Warlock & Ayesha × The Pieta

FINALLY FINISHED THIS PIECE!! I've been working on it (on and off) since September 2023, and it took me about 67 hours in total. I didn't intend for this project to be so big LOL, I just wanted to illustrate Ayesha and Adam Warlock in the pose of the Pieta statue by Michelangelo since it was referenced in Guardians 3. I'm so relieved to have it done now, there were so many times I had zero motivation to work on it since it was such a big piece😭 Probably the worst part about this project was that there were hardly any good references of either Adam's or Ayesha's outfits!! Buuut I worked with what I had and made something that I'm super proud of. The devil works hard but my Adam Warlock obsession works harder💪😤

Nearly 22 hours have been spent on this piece so far😳 and finally Mike's lineart is done!!

Closeup of the chainmail; I started doing it by hand on the sleeve to our left (I'm insane I know) but decided to create a brush to make the process just a little bit easier.. it still took me forever to finish it up though because the brush I made is transparent LOL so I had to go in and manually clean up all the chainmail so it would overlap properly. This has definitely taken the most time to do so far, and I'm hoping Will's outfit won't be quite as bad.
