Had a stand at a Christmas market today with my best friend. It’s the second time we’ve done this together and just like last time, she sold half her inventory while I sold nothing. She deserves it, her work is amazing and I’m very proud of her. I just have to ask why I keep doing this to myself. Why do I keep setting myself up for failure? Tomorrow I have to be there for the whole day even though I know in my heart I will achieve nothing and I’m so so tired.

@handalapls is Mohammed Ayesh's blog. He's currently inside Gaza working tirelessly to verify fundraisers. Do I have to explain how exhausting that is? He's in constant danger every single day, and still goes out of his way to help others as best he can. He also has to care for his family, including his little brother Yasser, who is hard of hearing and has a cochlear implant
The implant requires charging, which is difficult due to the destruction and inavailability of power sources in many parts of Gaza, and it's also starting to malfunction, as they're unable to care for it properly, again, due to the living conditions they are in. Trying to repair the device or get a new one would be extremely expensive, and they cannot afford it. This means that Yasser is having a lot of trouble expressing himself, since he's also been unable to have the speech therapy sessions he used to have, which made communication easier for him
Mohammad's fundraiser is destined to collect money to repair Yasser's hearing device, fund his speech therapy in the future, and help his entire family rebuild their lives. In a post on his blog, he's expressed wanting to close the fundraiser before the end of the year, and he has yet to reach his goal. As of today, his campaign sits at £35,320/£60,000. Please share his campaign, and donate to it if you can. The smallest act can make a big difference for him and his family. Mohammed spends so much effort trying to help those around him, it's only fair we should do our best to help him too
As stated previously, Mohammed is a vetter, and a friend of el-shab-hussein

Bought a book about the place I’m from today, detailing the history and stories passed down through generations. I’ve been thinking about how disconnected I am from my culture and why that is. I think it’s partly the current political climate of this country making me cynical and partly my unstable relationship with my family that has sort of pulled me away from my roots. So maybe with this book I can try opening my mind a bit, learn about my ancestors, see my history for what it could be rather than what it currently is.

Most anti phone advice is so inane and regurgitated to me but one thing I’ve been thinking about for days is “social media is okay, but the real danger comes in when you think your phone should be your go to during your limited pockets of leisure” like that’s literally the truest thing ever

hey!! i love your poetry so much!!! it's painfully beautiful and i adore it! also thank you so much!!! you've inspired me to start writing poetry myself. here's my first contrapuntal poem :)
Oh my god?? This is BEAUTIFUL. Honestly, everyone has to read this. I love the House of Atreus so much- they're so messed up. Also, may I say, you took to contrapuntal poetry like a duck to water!

For a while I was scared that telling people I’m into books/reading makes me pretentious but now im realizing that I SHOULD embrace that aspect of me and literally carry a book everywhere I go so I just go on that instead of my screen and also compel people to go w me on reading dates (which are similar to study dates, but instead ur recreationally reading together). I had all the keys at 12 when I understood that being as overt about my penchant for books as possible was just who I am. I want to go back to that. Also I am joining a book club officially so now I will be pretentious alongside people who understand. Amen
