softly screams through the fabric of reality--
I APOLOGIZE SINCERELY FOR ALL OF THE RP DELAYS LATELY a lot’s been going on, with me resuming classes a few days ago and me generally being unable to sit down and focus on my writing
anyways, i’ll be keeping all current threads going, but anything i haven’t written yet will be moved to the second part of the event!! With that taken into consideration, here’s a fresh RP ad for the second part of the event! I’ll be capping it at 2 likes for the time being!

@unchainedphantom
       > Huh.
       > You’d been expecting a number of things when the ‘distortions’ had been brought up. Anything similar to the Shadows you’d faced in life came to mind, and you had anticipated to face some sort of easily identifiable monsters.
       > But, European medieval knights? You almost thought the GRAIL was pranking you, until you saw the entire context. The never-ending war, the immortal soldiers trapped in it--you caught on within seconds. Resolving it was still a big question, but it was one that you could find the answer to later.
       > Especially when you’ve got several guys running at you, screaming over your music.
Tumblr media
       > This wouldn’t normally be an issue, given your status as a Persona-user, but something was off with these knights. They moved faster, hit harder, reacted quicker than what a normal human should be capable of. It was vaguely Servant-like, and you soon realized that, in a straight fight, you weren’t going to be able to just charge through them. Especially when you realized only a Servant could finish these enemies off.
       > Fortunately for you, while Saber wasn’t on standby, another Servant was.
Tumblr media
              “Let us end it... Thanatos!!”
       > The otherworldly harbinger of death, sword drawn, let out a bestial roar. He tore into the surrounding knights, striking with a ferocity the already weakened knights simply couldn’t stand up to. Despite your Persona’s fury, that wouldn’t be enough to finish the enemy off.
       > That job... was up to your current partner.
“They’re down, Avenger. Go for it!”

[ EVENT #2] : b e l l u m (Phase 1)
Read event preludes [PART 1] [PART 2] [PART 3]
The decision had been made. Those who chose to battle would advance towards near certain death. Those who chose not to would stay behind, leaving their fate in the hands of the brave few. The barrier surrounding Utopia continued to waver, seemingly crumbling from the very top. Slowly, but surely, the distortions were beginning to overpower the GRAIL itself. If left alone, the barrier would fade and the horrors that lurked outside would come to ravage everything.
Masters and Servants stood by, their Triplicata flashing as a new function had been implemented into it. A means of long distance travel between locations. In short, teleportation. Using this, they could leave the confines of the barrier and head towards their destination. However, before they could do so, the voice rang through their ears once again. This time, offering a warning.

kyokasuru:
It only takes a moment of consideration before she drops from the tree like a stone, descent slowing as she goes, as if the air around her is thickening like molasses to impede the fall. A few feet from the ground she skips forward on the air like she’s hopping down steps, and then stops in front of him with her arms tucked behind her back. A heel taps against the ground as she leans forward, tilting left and right as if examining a curiosity, mouth curling into the very faintest of smirks.            “Inventory, huh?”           Her tone is conversational, almost curious, and she almost seems friendly but for the sharp, calculating look in her eye.
Tumblr media
“Now what kind of inventory could you have,” she begins, stepping around him like a circling vulture, “that involves pretending to shoot yourself?”
       > You feel like this girl is intruding on your personal space. You’re tempted to say something about it, but you decide to leave her be. She seems mostly harmless, but the slight glint in her eye leaves you somewhat wary...
       > You’re not quite sure how to explain the concept of Personas to someone who has no way to actually experience ownership of one firsthand. Not to mention, the girl definitely doesn’t strike you as entirely trustworthy to begin with. Readily talking about that sort of information might not be the best idea.
       > But, your Evoker, with your hand now resting on it as it sits in your holster, kind of makes it hard to dodge the question.
Tumblr media
       > Where to go from here...?
            “It’s mostly just mental visualization.”
            “None of your business.”
=> “It’s kinda like an RPG menu...”

“Wha -”
Tumblr media
That…that wasn’t exactly the kind of response he was expecting. A Persona is a well-kept secret, at least from his experience. To drop the term would have been akin to some sort of secret code - anybody would have agreed or denied his claims outright. Did this guy opted to joke about it instead? It was certainly an interesting way to go about it.
He’s just like –
A switch flipped up in the back of his head. If he wasn’t playing up this facade he would have already squinted at the blue-haired boy in suspicion.
He’s just like Kurusu.
Goro met Kurusu by coincidence, and he turned out to be quite unique in that he couldn’t seem to figure him out off the bat. That connection turned out to be much more. This, however, was no coincidence at all - he approached this stranger with the full knowledge he could summon a Persona. What are the chances that we would meet a similar kind of individual with the similar kind of powers?
Best to play along, for now.
Tumblr media
“I know what a Persona is, and I’m quite sure that was no specter. Don’t worry, you’re secret is safe with me. I have one, too.”
       > Hm, so that one didn’t work. You’re tempted to keep testing him, but the instant the young man mentions that final detail, your eyes widen just a bit. Knowing about Personas was one thing, but being another Persona-user was a different state of being altogether. The chances of you running into an unknown Persona-user in this place were slim enough to become one-dimensional, but here you are.
Tumblr media
       > ...You figure Orpheus has been hanging around for long enough, and with a mere thought, the ghostly reflection of your innermost self returns to you. You’re going to need to carefully decide what to say next. Your next response could be crucial to figuring out more about this young man, as well as understanding exactly what he knows.
=> Quiz him on the Dark Hour.
              Ask about his Persona.
                                                                                                                」
       > Before the conversation develops any further, you bring up a number of topics you presume a Persona-user would know about while trying to be as vague about S.E.E.S. and its operations as possible. A series of basic mentions of the terms ‘Tartarus’, the hidden ‘Dark Hour’, and ‘Shadows’ should be enough to give you an idea on the young man’s position.

A new summoning, sudden for him it was but not strange.
Siegfried realized his contract with the girl from Chaldea has been broken and he had a new one ith another person. A saddening thought for him, but alas he was now in a what it seemed to be new Grail War. And his original purpose was that, to fight in the War and win it for his Master.
He was only given a name, by the looks of it it was japanese. But, there was just a young man in front of him, perhaps it couldn’t hurt to simply ask him where to find the person with such name.
Tumblr media
“I’m sorry to bother you, but are you perhaps Minato Arisato? I was told to look for him.”
       > Well, you definitely recognize that name, but the person is definitely a slightly new sight.
       > You could recall Assassin vanishing from your Servant data page on your Triplicata a short while ago. At first you thought it was some sort of malfunction in the system, but after it occurred to you that he was actually gone, you realized you were suddenly a Master alone in the city without a Servant.
       > You were unsure if the GRAIL would give you a replacement Servant or not, but seeing this powerful-looking man standing right in front of you, asking for clarity on your identity, you’ve got a bit of an idea as to what’s going on. You’re quick to glance at your Triplicata and check your Servant page before answering.
Tumblr media
            “Yes, that’s me.”
        =>“So, I’m guessing you’re Saber?”
            “Sorry.”

[◑] “Yeah, you’re going about it a bit wrong… I’ll admit, they’re a bit confusing to get used to.”
Sigma pulled out his own triplicata, tapping on the cube in a particular spot to get it to turn on. It could be a bit hard to tell, considering all the sides looked basically the same- but he did eventually figure out what seemed to be the problem.
“I think you’ve got it upside down. When it’s right side up, you should be able to get the screen on, and then it works just like any other smartphone.”
       > Ah, so that’s how it works. With the man’s help, you begin to understand how the cube-like device works just a little bit more. While it takes you a moment to grasp the basic concepts of the device, you’re soon scrolling through some basic menus without much issue.
Tumblr media
       > You make sure to thank the stranger for his help. To be honest, you would’ve been pretty screwed if you couldn’t figure out how to get this little cube to work. He really saved you, and you make sure he’d properly thanked.
       > It’s a bit of an absentminded addition, but you also end up mentioning...
“I’ve actually never used a smartphone. I was still on a flip phone.”

trueironfist:
The finely clothed man’s strides through the street were unopposed, the residents giving him a wide berth as he walked. A ravenous aura seemed to surround him wherever he went, and most would simply quail in fear of him for it. It was only those few who could stand their ground in his presence that gained even a fragment of his attention. So when a boy of peculiar look and standardized attire managed to simply walk past him, he was alerted immediately.
And slightly put off.
Really? This boy was worth his weight? He certainly didn’t look like much. Then again, he had long learned to avoid taking fighters at appearance alone. The more he focused on this boy, the evident it was that he was someone worth acknowledging, a latent power that gave him more than what the eye could see. Something that Kazuya could understand all too well.
With a look over his shoulder, he called out to the other, a bark of command underline with a cautious curiosity.
Tumblr media
“You there. Boy. A word.”
@foolofdeath
       > There wasn’t much reason behind you ignoring the imposing man. He was just another person on the street, despite his somewhat imposing figure. To you, there was nothing about him that immediately stood out, so, you naturally walked right past him. You actually weren’t expecting him to call out to you all of a sudden, his harsh tone just barely getting through your headphones.
Tumblr media
       > Your expression as you turn to meet his gaze is nothing short of apathetic. The idea that this man could be a threat to you doesn’t seem to come to mind, and you don’t particularly hide your lack of concern over his motives in calling your attention. Your usual blank face is about all the man is getting right now.
       > Your tone of voice flat as it always is, you decide to respond to him--
            “Hm?”
            “Is there a problem?”
=>“Is that a duck on your head?”

☫ Do you like to play with your opponents or finish them off neatly and quickly?
Tumblr media
“Well, I usually try to target their weaknesses, knock them down, then we go for an All-Out Attack--”
       > ...Their expression seems to indicate that wasn’t the answer they were looking for. You’re not sure why, All-Out Attacks usually end most random encounters pretty quickly.
☠ What kind of death do you expect on the battlefield?
Tumblr media
“...I’m not sure I understand the question.”
       > There’s no real such thing as a ‘glorious death’ or a ‘pitiful death’. Everyone dies all the same, don’t they? It’s everything you do before that--the life you lived before you died--that matters most. You think that’s the case, anyways.

YOU PUT SO MUCH EFFORT INTO MINATO'S UNSELECTED DIALOGUE OPTIONS AND THE SECOND PERSON POV IS CHARMING VS TACKY you just convey so much in your prose and i'm so enamored with the fact that you're keeping true to the game's narration techniques. i love it, please keep up the incredible work

It was only mere coincidence that Goro was passing by. He was being meticulous in taking note of every inch of the city, and that included walking the less travelled roads. He only spotted the blue haired boy by the corner of his eye, and would have heeded no mind if weren’t for the light reflected by a metallic shine in his hands. That certainly looked like a gun, and from this distance he couldn’t tell if it was real or not but the casual way that stranger pressed its barrel against his head was certainly alarming.
“Hey, wait - !”
What came out wasn’t the telltale sound of gunshot, but the sound of shattering glass. Turns out there was no reason for him to worry, although Goro wasn’t expecting the sight he saw afterwards. A strange, almost robotic figure with a giant harp on its back manifested behind the boy. He may not have encountered such a form before, but there was no mistaking on what it was.
Gears turned in his head. It wouldn’t be out of place to apologise for his outburst and to just be on his way – special powers are but a dime a dozen in this city, after all. But he was curious to see another Persona user, and one possibly outside of Kurusu’s merry band of thieves, at that. He could use more information about this one.
Tumblr media
“Excuse me, but…that was a Persona, wasn’t it?”
       > --Ah, shoot.
Tumblr media
       > You turn your attention to the plain-looking boy watching from the sidelines. You really weren’t counting on someone actually watching you. You were preparing to deal with all sorts of responses, figuring out how you were going to respond in kind.
       > Right up until you heard him say ‘Persona’.
       > Your expression is normally a pretty neutral stare, but it’s hard to hide the surprise on your face right now. Very few people knew about Personas. To your knowledge, the only ones who knew of them were either members of S.E.E.S. or part of the Kirijo Group. The former was unlikely, the latter also unlikely. You kind of wish you had Mitsuru around to ask for clarity’s sake.
Tumblr media
       > How should you respond?
            “Yes.”
            “How do you know that?”
        =>“It’s actually a ghost. Boo.”

gratusmortuis:
She’s never been to a carnival but she thinks this is what it must be like– looking into a funhouse mirror. Nothing about what seem to be staring back looks like you, but the culmination of your logic and common sense is enough for you to recognize your own reflection (as distorted as it may be).
She reaches up to pull one of her earphones off, it lays limp on her shoulder and her ears are still ringing from the shrill pop music once playing through her head.
“There’s this urban legend you know–” They’re the only two people in the music store. She doesn’t even use CDs herself anymore, but she likes flipping through the album covers and becoming familiar with the tangible embodiments of works she’s usually only ever owned digitally.
“They say if you ever come face to face with your doppleganger you’ll die.”
Tumblr media
“The funny thing about the story is that they never say if it’s the original or copy that dies, just that one of you will. So, does that mean there’s no original?”
She’s standing in front of alternative rock, she has to lean on her toes to be able to see over the shelf to where he stands opposite her. It’s all familiar and unsettling all at once.
@foolofdeath
       > ‘Maybe you’re both your own original?’ You say it pretty bluntly. Everything’s about perspective, you figure. There’s no written rule that says there can’t be two original versions of the same person. And you kinda think the story itself is silly. Why would just meeting your doppelganger cause one of you to die? Dumb.
       > You actually weren’t fully paying attention to the appearance of the person before you, though you think it may have partially been selective obliviousness. Once you look more closely, the sight seems... almost disturbingly familiar.
       > You’re a little taller than the girl is, so you can get a pretty good look at her if you try. While her appearance alone would be something to note, her clothing is what’s really throwing you off.
       > ...Let’s see, here.
Tumblr media
         =>“So, that uniform...”
             “Gekkoukan...?”
             “This town ain’t big enough.”
