Elemental Attunement

Here are a few ways of connecting with the elements that I have always found useful!

Fire:

Fire Sigil

Take a walk on a sunny day. Notice the warmth of the sun on your back and the light that filters through closed eyelids. Drink in the light.

Turn off the lights. Spend the evening in candlelight, or sat by the fireplace.

Honour your inner dragon and eat spicy food, visualising the heat of your breath is fire as you exhale.

Take the initiative. Finish neglected projects with fiery ambition, feel the spark in your veins as you burn through what weighs you down.

Observe how fire takes on more forms than you think. Do you feel the raw electricity in your TV? Is it too much to bare sometimes? Can the light of life in a newborn’s eyes be considered fire?

Air

Air Sigil

Imagine that the next breath you take will be the first of your life. As you exhale, think it is your last. How does it make you feel?

Indulge your creativity. Read, write, create. Be a force of inspiration and let your thoughts wander.

Move your arms back and forth as if you could move the air with the power of your will. Feel the cool sensation of the movement on the palm of your hands and visualise sculpting a ball of air. 

Take a walk on a windy day. Note the movements of the wind, how it changes everything around you and carries energy and fragrance through empty space. Listen between the whistling and the soft turn of the leaves to see if you can hear something more.

Water

Water Sigil

Go to a beach. Feel the pull and push of the tide. Mimic it with your movement; pull your arms inwards and push them out again along to the rhythm. Sync yourself with the rise and fall of the energy.

Take a moment to still yourself. Close your eyes. Place a finger on a spot where you can feel your pulse. Feel the throb of your heartbeat and the blood pumping through your veins. How does it feel to know that you carry rivers inside you?

Let your emotions spiral. No holding back. Learn how our feelings can have both positive and detrimental effects and realise that water can not only wash away problems but can also be a destructive force itself.

Take a shower and feel the water wash away everything you have ever thought or become.Be cleansed and remake yourself every single day.  Take a step backwards in your mind to a time where everything was dark and all you knew was the feeling of being surrounded by warm water. You have been a part of it since you were in the womb.

Earth

Earth Sigil

Lie down. Let the energy you hold within yourself and the energy of the earth touch, overlap, consume each other. Lose yourself for a couple of moments and forget where you begin and the ground ends.

Be a stable, reliable force. A shoulder to cry on. The friend of the group that feels like a parent in the best possible way. Find a sense of calmness within yourself and hold it firmly, not letting the positive or negative influence your tranquility. Be neutral in the face of bias but swift and forceful when the time for justice comes.

Think of a tree. Think of the roots that go far beneath the ground, holding it in place. Think of the years and years the tree has remained and endured despite everything. Realise that you can do the same.

Wake up before everyone else and observe how the world is different when everything is still.

Full Moon Plans?

I’m asking everyone about their plans because I want to make use of these special times we’re in and I’m so curious what intentions you have.

Just a reminder that this full moon next week (Jan 20th) isn’t just any regular full moon and if you’re planning any ritual it’s absolutely the best time to do that. Cleanse stuff, write your sigils, charge your moon water, your crystals, write your petition, ANYTHING you plan on doing, I feel like you’ll be doing it with manifestation power that will be amplified at least 5x, so whatever your intent is, make it authentic, true to yourself and be absolutely certain it’s what you want.

Why is that? well..

1. Not only will we be having a super blood wolf moon (sounds like a Twilight Saga fic, but really it just means that we’re having our first full moon of the year which also happens to be a total lunar eclipse and at its closest in its orbit to Earth. so, super amplified moon magic here, ladies)

2. it’s happening when many planets are making rare transits/aspects we don’t usually get to witness. Right now we have not one, not two, not three but FOUR planets in their home signs! planets in their home signs are like…themselves but on steroids. They’re in their strongest essential dignities. Their respective strengths/weaknesses are super-effective! More on these, if you’re into adding some astrology to your witchcraft:

We’ve got Jupiter in Sagittarius (conj. Venus!), Saturn in Capricorn, Neptune in Pisces and Mars in Aries. And not only that, but we have Jupiter (& Venus) squaring Neptune, Mars squaring Saturn, and Saturn sextiling Neptune! This is like a manifestation orgy just waiting to happen. Literally, waiting for your intention to be put into action. (I choose to view squares positively as an opportunity for you to boost your growth, not as blockages, but to each their own)

♆ ♓ Neptune in Pisces is amplified vision: Take this opportunity to envision exactly what it is you want or need. Design a sigil for it and get creative (the full moon will be entering Leo and Leo’s all about creativity). Take time to really examine it and maybe do some shadow work and journaling to be more mindful of the subconscious reasons behind this need/desire and that may lead you to a “root desire” that is more powerful and much more gratifying for you to meet. Then, because it’s Pisces we’re talking about, place your faith in the divine in you (or your personal deities, guides or wherever else you see divinity) that whatever happens will happen in the interest of your growth.

♃ ♐ Jupiter in Sagittarius is amplified expansion: Jupiter expands whatever house it’s in so check your transit chart and ask to receive more of what you want there. Even though it’s about receiving MORE, it could be more of things you don’t actually want or are ready for, but we’ve got synergy from the Venus conjunction here and that may mean more what of you truly value and find beauty in, whether material (finances) or interpersonal (relationships). So make sure you really are prepared for quick expansion, whether that’s moving, getting a new job, changing relationships through evolving them or ending them altogether. whatever is it, it’s going to come to you in HEAPS so be ready to receive.

♄ ♑ Saturn in Capricorn is amplified grounding: it basically takes the expansion that Jupiter brings in and cements it into your everyday life. it’s groundwork. It’s laying the bricks of the life you want one by one, as perfectly as you want them. so take this opportunity to really delve into how you want your ideal day to be. what you do on a daily basis. Stop wasting your time doing things you’re “meh” about and bring in more daily habits that are related to your personal vision and/or put this intention into daily habits you already have: some moon water in your morning coffee/tea, meditation during your daily commute (if you’re not driving), cleansing in the shower with salt scrubs and oils you’ve made with your own magic :D my favorite twofer. With the Neptune sextile, I feel meditation and mindfulness will some easily to you in everything you do here once you’ve set your vision (better yet, a vision board).

♂ ♈ Mars in Aries is amplified action: It’s almost aggressive pursuit. The determined go-getter mentality, only it’s directed by everything you’ve set through the above, toward your deepest desires and highest growth. So light your most powerful candles, activate your most powerful sigils, cast your most powerful spells and, for those more responsible witches who aren’t as squeamish, maybe even incorporate some blood magic to go with that blood red moon and fiery mars/aries energy. (I mean your own menstrual blood, not animal sacrifice. Just a personal view, but the latter isn’t given willingly so I don’t believe it’d have any positive power if at all and I don’t want vibrations of fear or desperation in my ritual. and it’s just plain cruel. religions can have their ritual sacrifices, I’ll stick to my diva cup tyvm) 

So there’s this big giant moon there, which is all about inner work, supported by all these beautifully aligned transits, and Mercury and Pluto will also be in Capricorn and Uranus (the planet of drastic change) is out of its 5-month funk retrograde and is now direct in Aries. I HAVE THE TINGLES.

i respect all spiritual beliefs but in my opinion the omen of death thing is a bit outdated,, like look at these things

crows and ravens are some of the most intelligent birds ever, and if you feed them in your garden sometimes they bring back small gifts like buttons and coins!

Alternative Magical Uses for Chocolate

So you love chocolate. Like, really love it. All its various forms and fashions and flavors. You’d eat it every day if you could (and you do). 

And hey, you’re also a witch! And you think it’d be a really cool idea to utilize one of your greatest loves into your spells and rituals! Awesome, yeah? (Yes. Yes, it is.)

Only then you start researching to get some ideas, and it turns out that all the traditional uses for chocolate in magic have to do with generating love/lust. And not that there’s necessarily anything wrong with that, but you’re not feeling it. Maybe you’re aromantic and/or asexual, like me. Maybe you just went through a bad breakup and all thoughts of romance make you sick right now. Maybe you’re really iffy about the consent minefield involved with love spells and want to steer clear, or maybe that just isn’t your magical niche- there are literally innumerable reasons for not wanting to utilize chocolate for its traditional magical uses. 

So if any of that sounds familiar, or if you’ve got the urge to get a little inventive, I’ve brainstormed up a few nontraditional ways to use chocolate magically:

Dark chocolate is quite high in antioxidants. Use it in spells to rid yourself of toxic people, or help you cleanse yourself of negative emotion.

Dark chocolate is also anti-inflammatory. You might find it useful in spells or rituals meant to calm strong emotions or diffuse tension, or even to rebuild broken bridges.

Both milk and dark chocolate contain caffeine, and could be used in energy boosting spells and rituals. 

Milk chocolate is also the world’s most popular comfort food and mood booster. When directing your magical energy to comfort and uplift, you might find milk chocolate useful. I’ve also used it when warding my house, and it’s really amplified that comforting, safe, yay-I’m-home feeling I get when I walk in the door. 

White chocolate has the highest sugar and cocoa butter content. Use in any situation that could use a little “sweetening”- like, say, when you’re about to start a new job and you want them to offer you a really good benefits package- or when you need to be able to “slip” your way through a tricky situation.

Botanica San Miguel (146 South St) is 5 minutes from Forest Hills Station and is Black owned (the owner Maria is Dominican), sells EVERYTHING you would need in any ATR/ADR tradition or religion, really good prices.

Friendly staff that give good advice and pointers. They sell candles (chime, novena, 7 day, saints, figure, large bucket looking candles lmfao) statues (saints, orishas, etc), quartz, dried herbs of all kinds ($3 a bag), oils and baths, colognes, rosaries, and they make their own spiritual baths with fresh herbs. Always clean and the space is very beautiful!

They also do consultas/spiritual consultations (about $25). Maria is extremely fucking talented, she is the real fucking deal, she’s kind as fuck, no nonsense and will tell you like it is.

Don’t be afraid to go in if you can’t speak Spanish, the workers and Maria also speak English and are very patient!

□ Forgiveness Spell ◇

I had an argument with my mother over the past, things that hurt us. Then I grabbed my crystals ( opal and aventurine ) that had been charging in the full moon last night, I had charmed them with a spell for honestly, love and growth last night as well. I put one in each hand and clasped each of my mothers’ hands.

I said :

“I say it, so it shall be

The past is in the past

and the present

shall set me free

I say it, so it shall be”

I then inhaled the energy I felt off the crystals and exhaled my wish into our hands.

By the end we were both shaking and crying from the emotion and sensation. We hugged and it is all mended. I highly recommend this spell 💜
