I'm starting to think I emit shrink vibes or something. I always end up with someone with dependency issues, a whole lot of insecurities, and the expectation that being in a relationship will fix everything.

I HATE SHOPPING

In the mall from 11am to 2pm and you know what I bought? Grip tape for my tennis racket. That’s it. Nothing else.

I did TRY. I did 11470 steps visiting every relevant store and trying on several tops and pants and tshirts and sweatpants and, and, and… But all they did was make me feel fat and force me to look at myself in a negative light.

Let me get one thing out of the way: I actually like myself. I’m not 100% satisfied with my health and I’d like to shed a couple of overweight pounds but these are collaterals. I’m exercising, I’m eating well (mostly, at least) and I’m content with my progress.

So why does going to the mall set me back? Why?

Skinny people clothes everywhere is why. Even sports-wear are designed for skinny people. And don’t get me started on yoga pants: PEOPLE SHOULDN’T BE ABLE TO SEE MY BUTT WHEN I BEND OVER!!! (Waiting for Kate Hudson’s fabletics to be available worldwide to test them)

I think we all need some healthy-sized shops with healthy and proportioned models on display.

Sick and tired of this shit.

People Across The Country Share How MLK Has Inspired Them

Alan was my friend and so this is hard to write because I have just kissed him goodbye.

What I remember most in this moment of painful leave-taking is his humour, intelligence, wisdom and kindness. His capacity to fell you with a look or lift you with a word. The intransigence which made him the great artist he was – his ineffable and cynical wit, the clarity with which he saw most things, including me, and the fact that he never spared me the view. I learned a lot from him.

He was the finest of actors and directors. I couldn’t wait to see what he was going to do with his face next. I consider myself hugely privileged to have worked with him so many times and to have been directed by him.

He was the ultimate ally. In life, art and politics. I trusted him absolutely.

He was, above all things, a rare and unique human being and we shall not see his like again.
