Happy 5 De Mayo Everyone!!! Who is going out to celebrate tonight? Not this girl...lol Unfortunately for me my hubby has an extra long day at work which means we won't be out celebrating tonight (blessing in disguise really) My BEST TIP: If at ALL possible, MAKE YOUR OWN MEALS! It's the only way you can control the ingredients and portions. Here are a few of my favorite healthy options: *Ceviche! *Fajitas with no sour cream. Load up on chicken (or steak if you must) with peppers, onions, guacamole, black beans & salsa. All of these are so good for you! (you can add brown rice tortillas too) *Salmon or Shrimp Salad with Salsa *Chicken with rice & black beans Try to avoid or have in MODERATION: *Chips- lots of saturated fat that goes straight to your tummy! *Sour cream… same as chips! *Heavy cheese dishes! Greasy and guaranteed to weigh you down… so eat your cheese in moderation. *Really sugary Margaritas. Ask them to stay light on the sour mix and ask for extra limes and on the the rocks. If you MUST eat out out then keep it simple and just plan ahead!!! Most restaurants have their menu, calorie information and macro nutrients on their website, look them up, search myfitnesspal or just call the restaurant if you must but no matter what get that workout in, go hard and earn that dang Margarita🍹 You can find more tips, meal plans and recipes over at www.fitforlifemom.com

#LatePost #Selifie #BecauseWhyNot😎 It's not every day I get to toss the yoga pants aside and put on something that makes me feel pretty 😙 I love my new leopeard pencil skirt!!! I wasn't sure if I could pull it off (Thank you Pinterest) Shopping has never really been my "thing" not because I didn't like it but because it always ended horribly wrong for me 🙈 Nothing was more frustrating than walking into a store, eyeing 👀 an outfit 👗 desperately searching for your size only to try it on and be totally disappointed with what you saw in the mirror. Last night was another story! I know there is still work to be done, but being able to put an outfit together in minutes and be HAPPY with it is the best feeling ever!

Confession time ✋ I've been skipping my Max:30 workouts this week to do #PiYo instead🙊 I just can't help it 😮 I love this format so much and after taking so long to get my groove back it just felt right 💞 Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm doggin my workouts. I am actually almost doubling my workout time from the 30minutes in Max30. It's just that #PiYo is so much easier on my knees and joints. I'll resume my regular Max:30 Schedule on Monday.. until then...piyo it is ☮

I'll be the first to admit that nutrition is and has been my biggest challenge during my journey 😕 . Just when I seem to have a grasp 😀 on things I get comfy and start to bend a little 😮 This weekend we took the kids out for a day of fun 🎡 and I took it as a free day to eat a bunch of naughty food 🍟🍔 ...well it didn't end pretty. I got sick 😵 and spent most of my Saturday night and early Sunday with my head over the toilet. Old habits die hard I guess, I paid the price for my poor judgement and it made me really start to think about how far I have come 👣 , the goals I still have yet to hit and the fact that Summer is literally just around the corner. I have never felt comfortable in a bathing suit 👙 in my life...EVER...Even now I buy suits that have that ruffle to hide my belly...I wore my maternity one years after I had both kids because it fit and hid my "problem" areas so well..lol So it got me thinking about that moment of INSTANT GRATIFICATION over the sweet taste of VICTORY that comes with a little sacrifice... I am so determined to feel COMFORTABLE this summer 🌞 ️ without the need to cover up that I made the decision to focus and get more serious about my nutrition🍆🌽 🍠 🍅 starting today. We are all going to face challenges along the way. Whether the challenge is physical or mental it's what you choose to do about it that matters. Use it to broaden and deepen yourself. It is hard at times and I do sometimes struggle with it but changing my perspective on the obstacles ahead gives me a chance to better myself and bounce back even quicker the next time I may stumble and fall.

What are you doing this week to achieve your health & fitness goals? I'll tell you what I'm doing, taking the time to plan and prepare! Sunday afternoon I did an inventory of our fridge and planned out our family meals for the week...As you can see #CheatMeals and #MealPrep are kind of a big thing around here. And because I am back to the grind and following the nutrition guide to Max:30 I laid it all out on google sheets (there's an app for that) so I can color code my foods better and get a better look at my week. On Monday I made Meal Prep a priority!! I Cooked Salmon, Ground Turkey and Chicken Fajitas and made a list of any things I needed for the remainder of the week. Today I finished up the last of the shopping so the rest of our meals are covered for the week. Fresh Veggies + Fresh Fruit+ Meals Prepped = Happy Tummies! and Happy Mommies ;)
