Stay Pt. 2 - Paul Lahote X Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
This is the final part to Stay 💕 I liked writing this version of Paul, just a big ole softie. I'm currently working on another one shot & a Sam fic as well. As always, let me know what you think! 2.4K words ❤️
You giggled as you took a sip of coffee, the tea you had made went cold long ago.
"I definitely don't think a slap across the face was necessary..."
He chuckled, "That's what I said! Jacob is still hopelessly in love with her. They aren't even imprints. I don't get it." He shook his head.
"What's imprints?"
Paul nearly choked on his drink.
"Um, well it's-"
"Good morning you two!" Paul sighed of relief as Emily walked into the kitchen.
"Oh my gosh, what time is it?" You went wide eyed.
She laughed, "7:00am. I was going to make breakfast if you're hungry."
You nodded getting up, "Sure, I'll help you."
Paul watched you both cook as the rest of the pack slowly filtered in. He. Was. Fucked.
He was trying to come up with something, anything he didn't like about you. Not only was he incredibly stubborn on the fact he didn't need anybody, but what he wouldn't admit was he was downright terrified. Afraid he'd say the wrong thing, or do something stupid and screw up any chance of a relationship. He didn't want a relationship. But that was before you....
-
New vampires were popping up everywhere, and the boys had been on patrol non stop.
This meant little to no conversations with you, other than the occasional small talk at dinner. Paul craved to be closer to you, but every time he had an opportunity, he let his nerves get the best of him.
He watched you leave to run errands one day, Emily then turning to him.
"Are you ever going to ask her out or are you always going to stare at her like a lost puppy?" She boldly asked.
Paul couldn't help but smirk.
"What's it to you?"
"Ummm EVERYTHING. You imprinted on my best friend. And besides, I've watched you get with many women. I can tell she's different to you." She smiled.
Paul sucked in a breath. He took a quick look around to make sure there were no other open ears before mumbling, "She just makes me nervous, I don't know. I guess I never cared if someone would reject me before. Not sure how I would handle it if she did."
"You're kidding right? Ugh, you're both so lost in the clouds. She's head over heels for you, Paul."
"Yeah right." He scoffed.
"I'm serious!! Do whatever you want to do but I think if you took a shot, you'd like her answer."
-
You had been sort of bummed out at the fact you really hadn't gotten anywhere with Paul since that one late night weeks ago. You had chalked it up to him simply not being interested. Normally you'd just brush it off, knowing not every guy you encountered would want you in that way. But, it was ten times harder when you lived with said person. Even though the boys had been extra busy with patrols, you still saw him at least once a day. You got butterflies each time, fantasizing he would just walk up and ask you out. When he never did, you knew you had to just get over it.
Your phone buzzed in your pocket, and you sighed, looking at the unanswered question. Fuck it.
-
It was a Friday night, and the first one in months that Paul didn't have patrol. He was finally going to do it. He was going to ask you on a date. He'd thought this through, countless times. He was simply going to offer if you'd like to grab some pizza and go see a movie. Nothing crazy, just casual and comfortable.
His leg was bouncing under the kitchen table, waiting anxiously for most of the boys to leave. He had been mindlessly talking to Quil who had suddenly averted his gaze to the stairs, eyes growing wide. "Holy shit." He whispered. Paul turned to where he was looking, and his breath caught in his throat.
There you stood, radiating in a tight dress that hugged your body in all the right ways. Your hair had been curled just slightly and your makeup made your face glow. You looked like you had taken a step right out of heaven.
"And just where do you think you're going gorgeous?!?" Emily gushed, hand on her hip when she, too had noticed.
"I got invited on a date." You beamed.
Paul felt like he had just taken a knife to his chest. His heart felt like it was nearly ripped out, his inner wolf scratching at the surface in pain. This was nobody's fault but his own. He didn't do anything for weeks and it wasn't even surprising someone else had beaten him to it.
The air was tense, all the boys and Emily trying and failing not to gauge Paul's reaction to your words. He slowly got up from the table, restraining himself not to shake, not to even show a slight temper until he was outside and far away from the house. He couldn't ruin this for you.
You frowned at Paul's exit, wondering in the back of your mind if he at all cared. Nonsense. Focus on this date, and do not think about him.
-
"I thought I'd find you here." Sam chuckled as he approached Paul, both in wolf form on the edge of the forest. Paul hadn't wanted anyone to see, but when your date picked you up he had followed you both to the restaurant, happy it was in ample sight through the crowded trees.
Paul huffed. "I'm just making sure she's safe. That is my job as an imprint, is it not?" He sneered.
"Of course. But then again, if you admitted to yourself that you liked her, she might not be on this date in the first place."
"For fucks sake. I do like her, okay? I've been busy on patrol and I was planning on asking her out tonight. I didn't know it would be too late.."
"It's never too late."
"Have you and Emily been watching too many rom-com's lately? Seems you both have all the answers to my love life."
Sam snorted. "We don't have all the answers, no, asshole, but we do know first hand what it's like to navigate imprinting."
Paul sighed. Maybe the universe would give him a second chance.
-
You had regretted everything the second you got in the car. This guy was the most boring, dullest man you could have ever met. You caught yourself looking at the clock more than you did him.
Once you had suffered through about two hours of misery, you politely (and awkwardly) told him you didn't think this would work out, and that you would find a ride home. He seemed absolutely fine with this, and you knew it was because you had put in so little effort from the start. Perhaps dating was not for you right now anyways. At least, dating anyone that wasn't him. Once you'd stop letting him get in the way of your thoughts, you'd try again.
After the man left you called Emily from the lobby, to which she apologized it didn't work out and said she'd of course be on her way.
What you hadn't expected however, was to see a certain wolf you had been obsessing over, pull up to park instead.
What a sneaky little bitch.
You walked up to the passenger door, eyebrows up in confusion.
"You ordered a get away car?"
You blushed, rolling your eyes playfully as you hopped in.
"Listen, not every guy is going to be my knight in shining armor and I've accepted that." You chuckled.
"That bad huh?"
"Miserable. Had the personality of watching paint dry. And that place was awful. They didn't even have good food. Just salad and wine. I'm starving." You threw your hands up in defeat.
Paul cleared his throat, the nerves starting to creep back up to him.
"Would you want to stop somewhere for some pizza?"
"Please, that would be great."
Paul smiled as he started up the truck.
-
You two walked through the door, throwing each other a confused look. It was silent. If there was one thing you learned about living here for the past month, it was that it was never, ever quiet.
Paul set the boxes on the counter, noticing a small note.
"I'll be back, I'm just going to change." You announced before heading to your room, in which he took the opportunity to quickly read it.
Probably the only time I can promise a house to yourselves until at least midnight. Make a move already! -Emily & Sam
Paul blushed before discretely throwing it in the trash.
You came back in an oversized hoodie and sweats, just about knocking the wind out of Paul. How did you look so flawless, so effortlessly? He'd never know.
"We could watch a movie while we eat on the couch. If you want..." He tried to sound as nonchalant as possible.
You smiled and nodded, grabbing a slice and following him.
When both of you had finished eating, still watching the movie, Paul's mind was anywhere else. He had to stop letting his nerves get the best of him. Before he'd know it, you'd just be out again with some other guy. He couldn't let that happen without at least knowing if he had a chance. You were his imprint for crying out loud, so you had to feel some sort of bond, right?
He eyed you from the side as he caught you hugging your knees to your chest, shivering ever so slightly.
"Are you cold?" He asked as if it wasn't obvious. When you nodded meekly he held out his arm. "Come here."
Your heart was racing as you more than gladly accepted the invitation in his arms. Jeez, was he hot.
"You have this tempature all the time?"
You could feel his chest vibrate as he chuckled. "I guess there are some perks to being a wolf."
Paul was being as normal as possible, but his mind was screaming. You molded perfectly into his chest, your hair smelling of fresh shampoo. Your small hands hesitantly wrapped around his torso as you snuggled deeper into him. He placed his arm on yours, the other wrapped around your side. He could spend forever just like this.
It wasn't but an hour that he could feel you softly start to snore. He smiled to himself as he gently kissed the top of your head. He leaned his cheek down, and soon enough, he followed.
-
Paul squinted his eyes open, nearly jumping when he saw your head still lay on his chest. He had almost thought the entire thing was a dream. As the sun shone through the curtains he realized you both had slept through the entire night, shocked none of the pack members tried to mess with him. He absentmindedly ran his fingers through your hair and out of your face. You looked so peaceful. He pulled his hand away when you started to blink, yawning and stretching before also realizing where you were.
You looked up at him before fully sitting up.
"Oh my gosh, I didn't realize I fell asleep."
"It's okay, I just woke up myself."
You both now sat upright on the couch, but still so close. You looked up at him with tired eyes. He couldn't help staring back,
"You're really beautiful you know." He said so softly that it was almost a whisper.
You blushed, hard. You looked in his eyes, the ones you caught yourself in so many weeks ago, and down to his lips. You parted your mouth slightly as if you should say something, but Paul was already ahead of you.
With one hand he cupped your cheek, he leaned down and melted his lips into yours. You snaked your arms around his neck, getting lost in the kiss, in his overall warmth. He could feel you smile through the kiss, and it was as if it washed away any doubts that he had before.
"Ohhhhhh SNAP!!!!" Embrys voice had you two pull away, Paul turning to glare at him as his hand still gripped your waist. He almost had a mind to get off the couch and fight him, if you hadn't placed your head into his neck, giggling.
"Embry I told you to leave them alone damnit." Emily's stern voice came from behind them, smacking him upside the back of his head. She drug him back into the kitchen, ordering he help her with breakfast.
"Hate to say it but nights like last night won't happen often. Theres a lot of interruptions in this house." He said as he softly kissed your forehead. You lifted your head back up, kissing him softly once more.
"As long as we can always pick up where we left off."
Paul smiled wide as he swiftly pulled you under him, your laugh rung in his ears as he returned his mouth to yours.
Perhaps fate wasn't so bad after all.

Understanding - Paul Lahote X Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
A little break up, make up one shot while I work on part two of stay 💕 as always, let me know what you think! 2.4K Words ❤️
You had been understanding. You had been so, incredibly, unbelievably understanding. You had been kind, patient, considerate. You had thrown every insecurity away in your mind. You shoved your feelings right down your throat.
But that was over with now.
Now, you faced him. In the middle of the yard, your throat agonizingly raw from yelling. You were shocked he hadn't phased yet, but he knew the minute he did you would take off. The pack, watching from afar and unbeknownst to you, were also shocked at his restraint.
"I would NEVER do anything to hurt you. Why won't you believe that?"
You laughed wetly through the tears. You were down right manic over what he didn't comprehend.
"Really?? You don't understand why I would be upset by ANY of this? Are you that fucking blind?"
Paul huffed through his nose, attempting to control his temper.
"I have a job, Y/N. There's new bloodsuckers popping up every day now and we have to make sure we're ready for anything. That means stacking up our numbers against them. Guy or girl, they have to be trained."
You scoffed, rolling your eyes,
"And don't you find it at all peculiar that everyone else is out on their own but you're STILL having to train this same girl? DAY IN AND DAY OUT?!"
He sighed.
"She should be ready, I know. But every time we get on patrol, she gets fearful and fails at basic exercises. Sam has me spend extra time with her."
You threw up your hands as if the answer was obvious, "Then TELL Sam to have someone else take a turn?"
"She only likes training with me."
Your eyes went wide, and all you saw was red.
"AND THAT DOESNT GIVE YOU ANY FUCKING CLUE THAT MAYBE SHES FAILING ON PURPOSE FOR YOUR ATTENTION? THAT MAYBE SHE DOESNT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT IMPRINTS? THAT MAYBE PERHAPS SHE HAS DIFFERENT INTENTIONS?"
Paul shook his head, him now scoffing.
"It's actually really hard to learn to navigate being a wolf. That's something YOU don't seem to understand."
You think you had lost your mind. It seemed as though the world crumbled around you, his words ringing in your ears from the impact. That was not something the imprint you knew before this would have ever dared say to you. It wasn't that you believed Paul would ever be disloyal, but your instincts were damn sure this girl wanted him to be.
You nodded, swallowing the lump in your throat.
"You're right. I don't. You need to be with someone that understands. We're done."
Paul stepped back like he had taken a blow to the chest. His eyes softened now.
"You....you don't mean that."
You headed towards your car, not being able to face the broken look in his eyes.
"Y/N, wait," he reached out, and even though you were mad, a part of it killed you to deny him.
You shook your head, new tears rehydrating their original streaks.
You sniffled, and took a deep breath.
"I'm tired, Paul. I'm tired of waiting up for you. I'm tired of being left unanswered for hours. I'm tired of making plans that just get canceled. Im tired of being lonely. And most of all, I'm tired of being disappointed."
He grabbed your arm before you could fully get in, and you saw Sam emerge, still at a respectable distance from the two of you.
"Baby listen, okay, I'm sorry. I can do better I-"
"You've said that before Paul. This is not the first time we've fought about this."
Tears pricked the corners of his eyes now.
"Please. Don't." He whispered.
He almost made you cave. You so badly wanted to stay. But you also knew if you did, it would be the same reoccurring cycle. He had to know you were serious. You wanted the relationship you had before she came along. Until you were sure you would get that again, you had to leave.
"I have to go. Call me when your priorities change." You said as you gently pulled out of his grip and shut the door. And with that, you took off to your father's place.
-
Paul stood planted in the same spot you had left him, shattered. What had he done?
He felt a small hand on his shoulder, a feminine voice in his ear,
"Maybe it was for the better. She seems like a total bitch."
Paul's blood turned cold. It was as if in that very moment, he had come to his senses. The smoke had cleared in his crowded mind. You were right. Of course you were right. All the stress that had been on his plate, he hadn't been thinking clearly at all.
He came to realization now, and it was too late.
Paul yanked away his arm, turning with a fury in his eyes to the woman behind him. She shrunk back under his gaze, feigning an innocence he knew good and well was all fake.
He trembled with anger, barely registering that Sam was now in between him and the girl. Paul pointed a finger at her, teeth gritting with anger.
"Get. The FUCK. Away from me."
Paul ripped apart as he phased, having it bottled up for far too long, and dashing off like a mad man into the woods.
The woman gaped like a fish, starting to babble, turning to Sam for reassurance.
"I didn't do anything I-"
Sam huffed a breath through his nose, "You heard him. I think it would be best if you left. Embry's cousin or not, you are no longer welcome here. That's an order."
Sam shook his head, running a hand through his hair as she stormed off. He felt guilty for letting it get like this. He had some suspicions about her joining the pack, seeing as she was always gravitating towards Paul, but he had shrugged it off, too occupied with everything else going on.
Sam also knew too well what it was like to hurt an imprint. Physically or emotionally, the bond felt all the same. Strict alpha or not, he valued Paul as a brother, and just hoped you would come back for him.
-
As Paul laid his head onto his pillow, he watched the days go by before him. Being forced to come eat dinner by Emily and whenever he had patrol were just about the only times Paul left his bed. He would call you once a day, sometimes with a small hope you'd answer, and sometimes just to hear your voicemail. After his patrol shifts ended, he would often sneak off to your house, just to make sure he'd know you were safe, if even from a mile away.
-
"Do you think she'll ever come back?" Kim asked Jared quietly one day, after watching Paul barely eat his food and sulk back up to his room.
"I don't know honestly. Y/N is just as stubborn as he is. But I do miss him. I've never in my life seen Paul like this. His internal thoughts are depressing as hell..."
Kim sighed, "It's not like she's doing any better. She finally answered my call yesterday, and I had to double check who I was talking too. She's miserable, Jare."
He shrugged, "I mean what can we do about it babe? You can't get involved in people's business like that."
"They're not people. They're family." She mumbled as she clutched her coffee mug.
-
Another week had gone by, the pack all sitting in the kitchen getting ready to eat.
"Boys. We have information on the new vampires in town," Sam announced as he walked through the door with Jacob.
"They're after Bella. She had a run in with that red head we keep chasing to the border every night. Her boyfriend had tried to kill her so the Cullen's killed him, and now this bitch is assembling an army to take her out for revenge." Jacob relayed.
This grabbed Paul's attention. If they were after your sister, that meant you were in danger.
"We're going to help them fight. Our people are at risk if we let this get out of hand, or if the Cullen's lose. But until the army comes here, we're going to be sharing shifts with them to watch over the Swan house," Sam said, looking at Paul who was heading out the door.
"Paul."
"You can watch Bella from a distance. I'm taking my imprint home," he slammed the front door.
"I can't imagine that's gonna go good." Embry mumbled.
-
Your body jolted upright from the couch at the abrupt knocking on the front door. You hadn't been expecting anyone, Bella out doing who knows what with Edward, and Charlie hours away on a fishing trip.
Opening the door your breath caught in your throat.
"What are you doing here?"
"We have to go. Now." He said sternly, ignoring your bewildered look as he flew past you and up the stairs to your room.
"And just who the hell do you think you are?!" You stormed after him, appalled he was barging in your house like this.
"There's an entire army of vampires on the hunt for your sister. You're not safe here, I'm taking you to Emily's." he said as he grabbed a suitcase and started throwing random clothes in.
"You don't own me Paul Lahote. I'm not going anywhere with you." You crossed your arms as you looked at him incredulously.
He refused to look you in the eye as he spoke, his breathing heavy from your scent,
"It is still my job to protect you whether we're together or not. You don't have to talk to me at all if you don't want too, and you can sleep in the spare bedroom" He said as he continued to pack.
You laughed.
"Come to Emily's with her there? I think the fuck-"
"She's not there anymore."
"Ohhhh so because she's gone you care about me again."
He stopped, this time turning to look you in the eyes for the first time in two weeks.
"Don't you ever fucking say that. I could give a shit less about her. It's always been you. I'm....look, I'm sorry I didn't make you believe that before. You were right. And I was so unbelievably wrong. I understand why you don't want to be with me anymore. I'm not asking you to forgive me. Im asking, just for the time being, that you do this so that I know you are safe....please."
You wish you could have stopped the tears that welled up in your eyes. A part of you wanted to stay mad forever, just to make a point. But the other just wanted to wrap your arms around his neck and kiss him. Two weeks felt like two years apart from him, and your heart so desperately ached to be near him again.
"Fine," you whispered.
Paul looked like he wanted to say something more, his eyes lingering on yours, but he decided against it, zipping up your bag and heading to the truck.
-
Once you both arrived to Emily's the pack headed out to train with the Cullen's, leaving you both and Kim at the kitchen table.
"So you guys.....didn't make up?" Kim asked disappointed.
You shook your head, "He just wanted me here. He apologized and said he wanted me to be safe. It was left at that."
Emily reached her hand over into yours,
"Do you want to be with him?" She asked genuinely.
"I.....I mean," you sighed. "Of course I want to be with him. I just was so angry, you know?? I didn't like feeling that way in our relationship. Alone."
The girls nodded understandably.
"If it helps, he's been an absolute wreck without you. I think if anything it was a wake up call." Kim offered.
"I haven't been exactly living the best either," you slightly chuckled.
"Well. We are more than excited to have you back in the house. That being said, I'm going to need both of your help with dinner." Emily smiled as she looked at the clock, standing up.
You grinned, happy to at least be here with your friends.
-
It was the night before the fight. Everything was quiet, but you lie awake, your mind racing. You hadn't said much to Paul in the three days you were here. There were lingering stares, brushing past eachother occasionally in the hall, but no conversations had been had. You felt a pit in your stomach at the idea of this fight. What if something happened and you never got to see him again? What if the last thing you had between you two was this awkward tension? The more you thought about it, the faster the tears spilled down your cheeks. You sniffled hard.
A gentle knock at the door startled you, getting up you frantically tried to wipe them away.
There he stood on the other side, leaning against the frame. His eyes looked so exhausted, like he hadn't gotten sleep either in days. "Whats wrong?" He said softly, taking a look at your face.
His gentle voice was enough to send you flying into his embrace. You arms wrapped around him as you sobbed into his neck.
He held your waist as he walked you both backwards into the room, shutting the door. His hand caressed your face as he leaned his cheek on your forehead.
"Hey, hey. Shhhh. I'm right here. It's okay. You're okay. You're safe."
You leaned back just enough to look at him, shaking your head. Your voice was broken and trembling,
"I-I don't care that I'm safe. T-tomorrow. A-and you. What if we never-"
Paul used both hands to cradle your face.
"Hey. Listen to me. Everything will be okay. This is what we've been training for. It's us and the Cullen's against them, our numbers are stronger. I'll be fine, alright? I'm just happy you're here and away from harm."
"I can't live without you. I love you." You whispered.
Paul instantly kissed you. It was like a wave of relief and happiness washed over you as you kissed him back with every ounce of passion you could muster.
Both your tongues danced as you refused to pull away from eachother. Paul bent down only for a moment to hoist you up in his arms, taking you into his room instead.
Unfortunately due to advanced hearing, the house was no longer quiet that night.

Stay - Paul Lahote X Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
Happy 2024! I honestly didn't know what to call this, but I just kept writing and now I'll probably need a part 2 🙃 enjoy 💕 2.8K words
"You have no idea how excited I am. I mean just how long have I been begging you to come live with me?" Emily grinned into the phone that was tucked between her shoulder and ear. She paced the kitchen while whisking a bowl of brownie mix, mindlessly chatting away.
"I must warn you though that the house does get chaotic. But the boys are pretty good about keeping up after themselves," she said while swatting away Embry's hand that almost made a dip in the bowl. He put his hands up in self defense as she rolled her eyes.
"Sounds great. Sam will pick you up at the airport tomorrow at noon. Let me know if you need anything else, and have a safe flight. I love you!" She she set the bowl on the counter, hanging up the phone.
"Was that Y/N? She's moving in tomorrow?" Quil questioned from the table with a mouth full of chips.
"Yes, and I trust that you boys will be on your best behavior in welcoming her..." Emily raised her eyebrow as she pointed a dripping whisk of batter at all the men now surrounding the kitchen.
"Depends, is she hot?" Embry snickered as he sat down.
"Oh....she is." Quil emphasized with wide eyes.
"Get it Embry!" Paul snorted as he clapped him on the back, reaching over into Quil's bag of chips.
"They WILL be on their best behavior. And no one will be 'getting' shit." The booming voice of Sam emerged behind Emily, wrapping his arms around her torso.
He reached his head over her shoulder as she let him lick what was left on the whisk, earning a disgusted "Seriously?" from Quil.
"Hey, but what if she's my imprint??" Embry held his up his finger to argue.
"You know that would be a different story...but we know already she isn't Quil's" Sam smirked at the youngest pack members now disappointed face.
"You guys are kidding right? I've seen pictures. Shes insanely out of all your leagues." Jacob quipped as he strolled to the living room.
"Anything is better than my crushes newborn infant..." Embry muttered under his breath, making all the boys cower in laughter.
"Oh yeah? You wanna say that again?" Jacob challenged.
Sam walked around in between them, looking from side to side at them both.
"THIS is what Emily is talking about. Keep the fights outside boys. I mean it. Just because Y/N knows about the pack doesn't mean she won't get scared if you clowns nearly phase in the kitchen. Are we clear?"
The two reluctantly nodded, Jacob sulking away to the living room.
"But come on, that was kinda funny.." Embry whispered, making the other boys giggle.
Paul shook his head with a smile at his little brother, leaving the room to shower before dinner.
-
There was something about the conversation that stuck with Paul throughout the night. Since Sam had met Emily, all of his brothers wanted imprints. They all saw what it was like to have one up close, and craved it desperately. He grimaced at the thought. The idea of a "soulmate" sounded ridiculous to Paul.
The problem wasn't that he didn't believe in it. Anybody could see the intense love that imprints had for one another, their bond growing with them until old age.
But Paul was not familiar with the term love. He never did get to see the love between his father and mother. She had been his imprint, but passed long before Paul could remember much about her. He watched his father struggle emotionally, never being able to get through the grief of her loss. Sure, he raised Paul as best he could, but deep down it was his mother that would have filled the void in their quiet house.
Things did get a little brighter when Paul joined the pack. For the first time he truly felt like he was part of a real family. He came home to hot meals, genuine laughter, and lively conversation. Not only had he gained a group of brothers, but ones with unwavering loyalty. None of them ever strayed away when Paul lost control of his temper, and were the first ones to help him learn to control it.
Maybe that was the reason he never looked for anything serious when it came to women. What was the point? One little outburst and they were out the door quicker than they had come in. He didn't allow himself to feel anything for them, because they'd end up leaving, and he was saving himself the heart break anyways.
Paul lay awake that night certain about one thing, he didn't need an imprint.
-
You inhaled the crisp fall air. Smiling wide as you looked up the steps to the new home awaiting you, the patio adorned in different flowers and cutesy outdoor decor.
"Oh Em it's just how I remember. You always make it look so cozy," you said as you squeezed the arm of your cousin beside you.
She returned your same smile.
"You're too sweet. I just can't believe you're really here. Come on, I'll introduce you to the boys."
You followed her up the steps, walking through the door to the warm smell of baked goods, no doubt that Emily had been up all night. You chuckled to yourself as you remember how she would go overboard on food whenever she was excited about something and couldn't sleep.
What you weren't used to, however, was being greeted by the several shirtless men. All incredibly in shape with tattoos on their arms, you might have been intimidated if it weren't for their cheesy smiles.
Emily gestured to each of them,
"You remember Quil, and that's Embry, Jacob, Seth, andddd well," she looked around puzzled for a moment. "I guess I'll introduce you to Paul whenever he comes around."
You waved at Quil and shook the other's hands.
There must have been some sort of inside joke, because as you finished with introductions you saw Sam laugh while they collectively let out a small sigh.
You don't think you were meant to hear it, but you caught Sam whisper at Embry,
"Better luck next time kid."
Emily didn't make a big deal of whatever it was, guiding you to your room.
After you got settled in, you found yourself strolling the hallway, looking over all the framed pictures on the wall. You had been over the moon when Emily had found Sam. You've never seen her so happy before, and you could tell he looked at her in the exact same way.
Not paying attention when the bathroom door opened, you collided with a large bare chest that stepped into the hall.
You gasped as two strong arms to match caught you before you fell, luckily, and you embarrassingly faced the one man you of course had no former introduction with.
"I am so, so sorry. I-"
"No no it's fine, are you-"
Both of you started and stopped mid sentence. Your attention had been captured when you two locked eyes. It was like you had been anchored to the floor by them. This warm, fuzzy energy had your entire body buzzing. It was so silent that you could hear your own blood flow in your ears. You furrowed your eyebrows in the haze. What the hell...
"ARE YOU SHITTING ME??"
A loud voice cut through the trance and you flinched at the abrupt sound. The man held you slightly tighter for a moment, as if he was about to protect you from whatever had interrupted you both in this hypnotic state.
Turning around so you both could see that the voice had been Embry, the man looked back and quickly dropped his arms, as if he just realized he had been holding you that whole time.
An unfamiliar emptiness lingered when he let go. He quickly averted his gaze, mumbling another apology before brushing past you, into a room, shutting the door.
-
His imprint. Right there. In the hallway of his own home.
Paul couldn't breathe.
He sat on the edge of his bed, nervously running his hands through his hair in a panic.
You were beautiful.
Breathtaking.
Your smell was intoxicating and your skin was so, so very soft. Your voice sounded like an angel. Your hair-
No.
No, he couldn't let himself think like this. He didn't need an imprint. Didn't even want one in the first place.
Was this some kind of sick joke the universe was playing on him? This girl could have anyone she wants. Why him?
Emily's call for dinner had him taking deep breaths. He could do this. They could live amongst eachother and not have to talk. There's ton of people in this house, it would be rare that the two of them would ever be alone. Right? Right. He could do this.
He walked into the bathroom, splashing cold water on his face. Wake up. It's just some girl. No different than the many that he had been with. Hell, if he could have sex with someone and never think of them again, he could do it. They had barely exchanged a sentence. Barely touched. He would be fine.
-
You sat down at the table, trying to behave as normal as possible. What happened in the hall was nothing. Whiplash. Yes, it was probably the whiplash from running into him. The poor guy seemed shy, and he was most likely just as shook up as you. It was a small accident and nothing more. He certainly didn't seem angry or upset, just caught off guard.
But wow....was he handsome. Certainly more attractive than any lousy guy you'd ever been with. He had this aroma of sandalwood and forest that was enchanting.
Okay, slow down Y/N. Let's not walk in on the first day and jump on some guy. After all, you two are going to be living together. Maybe don't make him uncomfortable in his own home. You shook your head to yourself. Just forget about the whole thing and it will be fine.
Luckily, Emily had started conversations around the table, easily able to take your mind elsewhere.
That was, until he came in the room. There was a beat of silence when he entered, the other boys seeming to look at him like they were anticipating something. When he didn't make a sound or even look up to anyone, slumping at the table and taking a plate, the conversations arose again.
Dinner was excellent as usual for Emily's cooking, and besides your beating heart constantly begging you to look at the man near the end of the table, it was almost normal.
It was when Emily put delicious brownies on the table, that it took a turn for the worse.
"I'M NOT GOING TO TELL YOU AGAIN. SHUT THE FUCK ALONE ABOUT IT" Everyone's head turned to the angry voice. It was him. He was so visibly upset that he was shaking, staring daggers at Embry beside him. Slamming his fists on the table as he stood up, you let an audible gasp slip.
That's when he looked at you for the second time that night. It was a far reach, but somehow you saw his eyes soften. The crinkles of anger in his eyebrows vanished, and he swallowed, before bolting out the door. Sam immediately followed, and Emily sighed, reaching out to touch your arm.
"I'm sorry about Paul. He's very.....expressive sometimes."
Paul.
-
"Leave me alone Sam."
Paul sighed through the mind link, his large wolf racing through the trees.
He didn't mean it. He never means it. But Embry would simply not stop talking. First it was meaningless. He asked what imprinting felt like. Paul had shrugged it off as nothing crazy, hoping he'd drop it there. Then, he had asked him if he planned on pursuing the imprint. Of course he told him he wasn't. He didn't need a soulmate. No matter what his instincts told him. But then, Embry had smiled and thanked him, telling him that you were now "fair game".
That had been when he lost it.
He stopped on the edge of a cliff, breathing in the fresh water air. Sam slowly approached his side.
"Embry only said that to get a rise out of you, you know."
Paul scoffed.
"He can do whatever he wants. I don't care about her."
"Oh you don't?" Sam didn't sound so convinced.
"Even if I did, she wouldn't want me. Did you....did you see the look on her face when I yelled?" Paul replayed it over and over. You had looked absolutely frightened.
"There is a reason she was chosen to be your imprint Paul. You don't know Y/N. She is patient, and most of all understanding. If you talked to her-"
"I don't need to talk to her. I am perfectly fine alone. I don't need a woman, and I definitely don't need an imprint."
Sam sighed.
"Paul. You can do what you want. I'm not the type of alpha to force you to love someone. But believe me when I say that I had a dark past. I was also comfortable with being alone. Emily is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. Having a conversation with her doesn't mean there will be wedding bells tomorrow. All I'm saying is you don't know unless you try."
Paul nodded, and Sam left him with his thoughts.
-
You stared at the numbers on your phone screen. 2:00am. You huffed in frustration. Your mind had been a constant replay of the events today, your mind spiraling. You had settled on the fact things around here were weird, when you had visited Emily and accidentally caught sight of Sam in wolf form. But this energy couldn't have anything to do with that. Could it?
You decided to make yourself some tea to try and relax. Knowing Emily you knew there had to be some in the kitchen. You tip toed in the dark, your body stiffening as you recognized a familiar muscular back that sat at the kitchen table in a dim light.
You were ready to retreat back to your room when he turned his head around to look at you.
Damn, wolves must have good hearing.
"I was just....going to make some tea.." you pointed to the cabinet awkwardly.
He nodded, looking back down at what appeared to be a cup of coffee.
He couldn't sleep either?
You mindlessly tapped your fingers against the counter as you awaited the kettle, praying that if you stared at it long enough, it would speed up the process.
-
Fuck, was this torture. You were like a goddess, standing there in your pajamas, hair astray and up in a haphazard bun. He imagined walking up behind you, wrapping his arms around you, soaking in your warmth while he pressed gentle kisses on your neck. He wondered what it sounded like to hear you laugh...
STOP STARING. Say something. Anything. Just. Try.
He cleared his throat. It must have startled you because you quickly turned to face him.
"I'm...sorry. About what you saw earlier. That's not like me. I-Embry, he can get under my skin sometimes," he rubbed the back of his head.
"But that's no excuse. I'm-um, Im Paul, by the way."
He lifted his hand up in an almost wave. Why was he so awkward? He was never this way with women.
You giggled, and suddenly, he felt like he was in heaven.
"Y/N. And no worries at all, Emily said you can be....'expressive' sometimes."
He chuckled.
"That's one word for it. But I just don't want to scare you off..."
"Well. I think if knowing that you can all turn into a large creatures who can rip me apart and that doesn't scare me away, I think you were okay." You smiled. He could look at that smile forever.
-
He was actually talking to you. Man, was his laugh so perfect. You could talk with him forever.
The kettle screeched, and you reluctantly made your tea.
"Well....I guess I'll see you around, Paul." You took your mug and headed for your room.
-
His name on her tongue. He wanted her to say it again.
"You can stay. If-if you want. I, uh, I don't...know much about you."
You smiled.
"I'd like that."

Not Letting You Go Easy - Part 3
Tumblr media
*****18+ ONLY*****- THATS RIGHT - MY FIRST SMUT. AHHH. There's a reason I read it but don't write, so if it's terrible, I tried my best. Let me know what you think ❤️ 2.6K
Tears streamed down Emily's face. Paul had been out the door and already phased before Sam hung up the phone. He quickly kissed Emily on the cheek, telling her it wasn't her fault, and that they'd handle it.
"Let's GO." The alpha commanded.
One by one the pack members followed behind, using the mind link to communicate.
"The red head has her. She brought more vampires with her this time. They're in Cullen territory by the border. She won't back down without a fight," Sam announced.
The wolves sped through the trees, expertly ducking and dodging anything in their path.
"How did they know she took her?" Quil questioned.
"The pixie haired one can see visions of the future. She...she said that Victoria had ran Y/N off the road." Sam was careful while speaking, knowing Paul was already going ballistic in his own mind.
"She wanted to kill her but they got there before she did. Now she's using Y/N as leverage for Bella."
Paul growled loudly. Even with an extraordinary temper before he imprinted, he had never felt this amount of anger in his life. His heart might as well have been on fire as he desperately tried to block out images of you being hurt. His mind raced as fast as his legs took him, a mile a minute.
If he had just told you, this never would have happened. He would have gone back to Emily's and you'd be sitting there waiting for him, looking as beautiful as ever. He would have pulled you aside and told you that yes, he wanted you to be his girlfriend. That there was not a single doubt in his mind. He didn't want there to be anyone else. No one compared, or even came close. He would have whispered sweet nothings in your ear while taking you upstairs, ignoring the boys hollers. He would have taken his time with you. He would have spent the rest of the night showing you how much he loves you.
Shit. He loved you.
'My fault. My fault. My fault.'
"You can't blame yourself Paul. You have to focus. We'll get her home." Jared assured, seeing his mind spiral.
They slowed down once they crossed into Cullen territory, using their heightened senses to scout out where the blood suckers stood. This land was unfamiliar to them, and they had to be on guard.
"Everyone stop. Don't make a sound. They are just over this hill." Sam said as they approached the clearing, hidden behind the trees.
"We can't protect her over here. What are we going to do?" Jared asked.
"We have the doctors permission. They'd be outnumbered otherwise. They also feel responsible for why Y/N is involved in the first place."
"They'll have to do a lot better than an apology," Paul snarled.
"Easy. Our primary concern is Y/N's safety. We take out the ones intruding on their land, get her, and go home."
Paul wanted to scream. It took everything in him not to say screw alpha's orders and attack the bitch that would dare hurt his imprint.
But Sam had a point. He counted at least 12 additional vampires, eyes scanning every pale face until they landed on you.
Fuck.
You were tied to a tree, blood trickling from your hairline down to your soaking clothes. One of your arms shown deep purple bruises that led a trail up to your shoulder. Your head hung low as you appeared barely awake, and you were violently shaking from being wet in the winter air. The rope rubbed harshly against your skin, making it additionally difficult to breathe. Being tied up was purely used as torture, one of them alone easily able to over power you.
Two of her minions stood on either side of you, even though it was very clear that you weren't able to go anywhere, or could if you tried.
"She has NOTHING to do with this! Let her GO!" Bella yelled, standing close behind Edward. She had her hands in her hair, nearly in tears as she watched you struggle to keep your eyes open.
"She's right Victoria. Y/N never knew James or anything that has happened. She's innocent. Let her go and we can discuss this further, in a civil matter." Carlise spoke, trying to negotiate with Victoria, who stood in front of all of them.
The cunning smile she wore on her face showed that she had no fear of the repercussions this would cause. This was a carefully thought out plan. She wasn't here for any old civil conversation. This is what she wanted, and she wasn't going to comprise on anything. She wanted revenge.
She remained silent as she turned to look at the one beside her.
"Kill them all."
That woke you up. You mustered up enough energy to lift your head up, eyes wide as you watched the absolute chaos unfold in front of you.
A thunderous movement could be heard from across the forest as both the vampires and wolves charged at each other.
Fast. Swift. Brutal.
Limbs of the small army flew every which way. Bones cracked under sharp teeth and necks shattered like glass when torn off their bodies.
The Cullens were swift and agile while the wolves were aggressive and cruel.
Not one of these new vampires even stood at chance at the level of experience everyone else had. Minutes felt like hours as you watched each fight closely, sighing of relief each time one of them fell.
You had your eyes mostly on your imprint. Silently cheering him on in your mind, trying your best to ignore the excruciating pain.
Your heart ached at the realization that this wouldn't have happened if you didn't leave. You should have just waited for him. Brought it up when it was just you two. Have a conversation. Then tell him that you wanted more than anything to be his girlfriend. You loved him.
Wait, you loved him?
Victorias face changed quickly as she watched what she had assembled fall at the hands of her enemies. She sent daggers at Bella who had Jacob in front of her, teeth bared and ready for anything that came their way.
Instead she sped over to you,
"You're coming with me." She said angrily trying to undo the ropes. You whimpered at the pain as they unraveled, looking up to see the large silver wolf you knew all too well.
He stalked her like prey, like he had been waiting his whole life for this moment.
Within seconds he lunged at her from behind. With the help of Jacob, they chewed her up and spit her out like she was last nights dinner.
You started to cry tears of relief, sobbing when you saw the very last rogue vampire get torn in half. The wolves and Cullens frantically surveyed the area, on alert in case they had missed one. Your silver wolf went behind a tree, moments later emerging in human form, desperately freeing you from the last of the rope.
Your teeth were chattering so bad you couldn't speak. When you tried, you coughed up blood instead.
"Hey, hey hey. Shhh. Shhh. I got you baby. You're safe. I'm gonna get you some help, okay?" Paul coaxed as he wiped away your tears.
He got ready to stand when you frantically grabbed his shirt, barely able to make a fist.
Paul felt his heart nearly break as he knelt in front of you.
"I'm right here. I'm not going anywhere, I promise. I'm gonna have to lift you up okay? We have to get you some place warm."
You nodded, still sobbing as Jared and the others helped Paul maneuver you in his arms, careful of your injuries. You gently rested your head in his neck, whimpering at the pain.
"I'm so sorry about everything Y/N." Bella approached them when you could feel Paul's chest rumble with a growl.
"I think she's had enough of that." He spat.
"I can come over to help." Carlise offered, while trying to cut the tension.
Before Paul nearly phased at the idea, Sam spoke for him.
"That would be great." He looked to Paul, "Sue is out of town. We can take her home or she can go to a hospital."
Paul clenched his jaw.
You clung to him the entire way back to Emily's. He slowly helped you out of your wet clothes, opting to cut your sweater after you had yelped in pain.
Carlise entered with an IV and a case full of medical equipment. Sam followed behind him, monitoring to make sure Paul behaved.
The vampire worked quickly, giving you medication, stitching and bandaging you up as best he could.
You cried out when he had to put an ointment on an open wound, Paul nearly jumping out of the chair by you.
Sam had to forcefully shove him back in his seat, threatening to kick him out of the room.
"That should be it. I'll have Bella bring over anything else needed."
Carlise said as he started to pack up.
"Thank you." Sam extended his hand to shake. He turned to Paul, who followed suit.
As much as he despised the man, the only thing on his mind was that you were alive and safe.
Sam followed Carlise to the door, leaving you two alone.
Paul turned to you, eyebrows furrowing as your lip wobbled.
He rushed to your side of the bed, sitting down gently.
"Hey, what's wrong? What hurts? Do you need water? Are you hungry? I can-"
"I don't need anything. I'm just. I'm so-so sorry." You sniffled, voice hoarse.
"Baby...what the hell do you have to be sorry for?" He took one of your hands in his while the other ran fingers through your hair.
"I should have stayed. None of this would have-"
"Stop that right now sugar. Nothing is your fault. I should be the one saying sorry. I promised you I would be honest about everything that goes on. I kept it from you thinking I was protecting you."
"You did protect me." You gave his hand a light squeeze.
He smiled. "I would tear through every blood sucker in this world to get to you."
You blushed. Paul leaned over, cupping the side of your face as his lips pressed ever so softly onto yours.
He started to pull back when you grabbed ahold of his hair to bring him closer, not wanting the moment to end.
Paul must have felt the same way, easily on your mouth again as he glided his arms around your torso.
"Mmph...Paul." You held a hand on his chest after a few minutes. You were still close enough that your noses still touched.
"Are you uncomfortable?"
You giggled. "No not at all. I just...I wanted you to know that I, uh...I would love to be your girlfriend."
Paul cracked the biggest smile. If this was a dream, he'll absolutely fuck up anyone that dared wake him.
"Really?"
"Yes, really." You grinned
"Well that's good because I wasn't planning on you ever leaving this bed," he bit his lip as he smirked.
You rolled your eyes and laughed, taking a fistful of his shirt and kissing him with all the strength you had.
You had a boost of exhilaration after tonight's events. You didn't know if it was the bond strengthening or the thought of damn near losing him, but all you could think about now was needing him.
Your hands hurriedly reached out, starting to unbuckle his pants. Paul's hand stopped yours.
"Babe, we don't have to tonight. You need to rest...." He said as he sat back to look you in the eyes.
You huffed.
"I have, like, one broken bone and a couple stitches."
He looked at you incredulously as if to say that was validation enough.
You sighed.
"Please baby. I just need you." You whined.
Paul didn't need much more convincing than that,
"Okay, okay. But I'm gonna go slow. And I want you to stay laying down. Let me do the moving. I don't want to hurt you."
You nodded happily, kissing him once more.
Your tongues mingled as his hand trailed under the sheets, sliding past the little shorts you had on, cupping your heat.
You lifted your hip as best you could, signaling you wanted more. With your silent permission, Paul dipped his fingers in your pussy, a guttural moan leaving his lips.
"Fuck baby. You're so wet."
It was your turn to moan as he slowly worked his fingers in your core expertly. In and out, hitting that perfect spot over and over.
Paul had the ability to get you off in seconds, having memorized everything that got a good reaction out of you.
You gripped his arm, biting your lip as you could feel the build up already.
"Cum for me sweetheart. Cum all over my fingers so I can taste you."
He also knew the words to set you off, crying out his name as your release pooled over his fingers.
"That's my good girl." He smirked as he brought his hand in his mouth,
"Mmm fuck, I missed that. I'm going to need more baby."
He pulled off your soaked shorts, not waiting a minute before diving head first.
Your back arched as he licked, sucked, and ate you out like no tomorrow. Your legs were already beginning to shake, grabbing onto his hair as he pressed his nose in further. He was going feral, gripping your thighs, refusing them to close as he feasted on your pussy.
"Best meal of my fucking life" he murmured.
"Paulllllll, I-I- shitttt" you whined, climax fast approaching for the second time.
He lapped up everything you gave him as you felt like you couldn't stop cumming.
"So good baby. Made just for me," he said, relishing in your sweet juices.
He kissed your clit as he wiped his mouth with his hand, then licking it as well.
You ogled at him, sitting up slightly to tug on his jeans.
He had them off in seconds, pumping his huge, thick cock.
Your mouth watered at the sight. This is what you wanted.
"You sure baby?" He asked as he lined up, rubbing the tip against your folds.
"Please"
With that, he slowly entered you, both moaning in unison the deeper he went.
He was as gentle as ever, thrusting in and out with caution. You hooked your arm around his neck, in which he buried his head in yours.
"You're so soft. I could be here forever." He whispered, littering your neck with kisses.
"So good baby" you murmured, dazed over with pleasure.
"Mm not gonna last long."
Slowly he rolled his hips into you, savoring every moment. Thinking about how lucky he was to have someone as perfect as you.
"I'm gonna fill you up, yeah?"
You had near tears in your eyes at the amount of bliss you felt. All pain forgotten as you panted "Yes. Yes Paul. Please."
His thrusts got just a tad quicker, and all it took was you cumming a third time for him to follow behind.
He screamed your name before biting into your neck, creating a hickey as you both rode out your high.
I love you. He thought, but didn't want to say it too soon.
Not knowing you were thinking the same.
You winced when he pulled out, rolling onto the side of the bed. He wrapped you up in his arms as you snuggled into his warm chest.
"Now get some sleep baby," he said as he pressed a kiss to your forehead. You hummed in agreement, already fading into exhaustion.
You jolted when there was knocking sounds on the wall behind you.
"Hey I don't think sex was one of the doctors orders. Let's keep it PG so we can all sleep."
Jared voice could be heard chastising you two.
Paul rolled his eyes and you giggled.
"He's lucky I'm so comfortable. I'll have to rain check kicking his ass." You smiled, both of you eventually drifting off into a peaceful slumber. Perfectly content in each others arms.

The Incident - Paul Lahote x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
A little one shot that I just couldn't stop writing. A good angst to fluff (btw my fics will never be all angst, im too soft). Also do not fear, Im working on a Sam fic and part 3 to not letting you go. But you let ME know what you think of this one ❤️ 2K words
"My SISTER, Paul. She's my fucking SISTER!" you yelled, voice hoarse as your throat cracked.
"I could give a SHIT LESS WHAT SHE IS. YOU'RE. NOT. GOING." He screamed, jaw taut as he tried his best to subside the tremors that were threatening to take over his body.
You ignored the teeth he bared, shaking your head and scoffing.
"Aren't you tired of this?! I'm going over there. I HAVE to know she's safe."
"YOU SERIOUSLY THINK I'LL JUST SIT BY AND WATCH MY IMPRINT GO TO A PLACE WHERE I CAN'T PROTECT HER? WHAT ABOUT ME KNOWING THAT YOU'RE SAFE?? HUH?? YOU'RE SICK IF YOU THINK I WOULD BE OKAY WITH THIS!"
"Sick?!? SICK?!? LETS TALK ABOUT HOW 'SICK' IT IS THAT YOU WOULD WANT TO KILL HER AND THE BABY. THATS MY FAMILY PAUL!"
"AND WERE NOT?"
It had been like this for a week straight. Ever since the pack stormed through the door announcing their mission to kill Bella and the unborn child within her.
You felt as though your two families had been pinned against each other. Head spinning at the idea of there being a 'choice' between your sister and imprint.
On one hand you were desperate to make sure she was alright, but also exhausted at the never ending battle with your boyfriend.
Sure you had talked to Bella over the phone, but you didn't buy into the lies like your father had. Even though you knew significantly more than he did, she still attempted to downplay the situation. She had done this numerous times since getting thrown into the vampire world, but she could only keep you in the dark for so long before you unraveled the truth.
You had to see her. Even if it was the last time. By fate, or at the hands of the pack. You had to be there for her, as she would you.
Leaving your imprint though? Was at task challenging at best. On at least four different occasions you fought with Paul for so long that Emily and Sam had to intervene, prying you two apart at the pleads of other pack members.
Emily would console you while you ranted and Sam would make Paul run off his anger in the woods. When you faced him again, it turned into a rerun of the same argument. Nobody in the house had gotten sleep, and the things were progressively getting worse.
Quil came through the door, widening his eyes.
"Just a heads up everyone, a little comedic relief does not go over well. I saw my life flash before Paul's eyes." He huffed before sitting down.
"When is this going to be overrrr?" Embry whined. He shoved his head in his hands on the kitchen table while you and Paul went at it in the front yard.
Emily sighed.
"Unfortunately sooner than you think....Y/N packed her suitcase this morning." She said quietly.
"You're not really going to let her go over there are you?!?" Kim stood up, looking at both Emily and Sam.
"If you would like to stop her, please, be my guest." Sam motioned his hand to outside, where you and Paul could be seen through the window. You were throwing your arms up and pointing fingers at him, while his voice boomed loudly, towering his large frame over yours.
Kim winced.
You had always been the calm to Paul's raging storm. 'Made him all soft' as the guys would tease. None of them had actually seen you two disagree with each other. In the mind link they saw glimpses of minor arguments, most of the time being reconciled in the sheets..
Paul eventually got an order by Sam to think about something else while on patrol. 'Literally, anything else'.
"She's not going anywhere. I can count on my hand how many times they've been apart since he imprinted. They'll work it out eventually." Jared said as he pulled Kim on his lap, taking a hunk out of his apple.
Kim didn't share a look that she believed him, worriedly looking out to where you stood.
A few moments passed when her body stiffened and she gasped, making Jared look where she was.
"SHIT! SHIT!" He said, throwing Kim off his lap.
Sam turned to look out the window in time to see Paul phase, his sharp claw making contact with your skin. Your blood curdling scream instantly had everyone else off their seats, nearly knocking each other over to race outside.
You laid on the ground as your body wracked with sobs, clutching your side. Blood gushed through your hand as you started to panic, scrambling to stand. The large silver wolf only stood for a few moments before Paul shifted back, completely horrified as he frantically tried to reach you.
He felt his heart nearly rip out of his chest as you backpedaled into Emily, who was helping to hold you upright.
"NO! NO! GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME! IM DONE!" You cried.
Sam stood in the middle of the two of you.
Paul could feel his chest caving in, hand out, speaking more gently than he had at all in the past week.
"B-baby. Please. Please, I'm- I'm so sorry baby. Please let me just see-"
"NO! I'm done. I'm done. I'm leaving. I'm done." You repeated like a mantra, limping to the car.
"Y/N you cannot drive like this..." Emily attempted to say as she stepped in from behind you. She could see your anxiety was heightened, and afraid to set you off further.
"I have to go," you choked, on the verge of tears as you tried to open the drivers side. You had yet to even notice the gash in your side, adrenaline pumping wildly through your body.
Paul made his way around Sam, grabbing your other arm that was holding the door.
"You are crazy if you think I'm letting you leave like this. Please come-"
You yanked your arm from his grasp.
"Don't. Let me go!" You said coldly.
Paul froze. He couldn't move. You never spoke to him like this. Even in the numerous fights you two had this week.
Every single instinct in his body needed to help you. He knew you were downplaying your injuries. He knew he just royally fucked everything up. But the absolute last thing you could do was walk into a house full of vampires dripping in blood. Fucking doctor or not.
"Come inside and let me take a look at you, okay? Please." Emily said to coax you, frantically looking at your wound.
This made Sam follow her gaze, looking down to see the blood pouring from your side hadn't stopped, and you were growing paler by the minute.
"Y/N....you're going to stay here and I'll call Sue." He said in an authoritative voice, leaving no room to argue as he turned to start dialing the number.
You almost argued. You almost fought both of them on the subject. Your stubbornness almost won.
But you felt an immense pain. So strong you don't know how the hell you didn't notice it when you stood up.
That couldn't be good.
"....Y/N?" Paul said, barely above a whisper. Tears were now silently streaming down his face as he held both hands out slightly. Not close enough to touch you but to be prepared in case you fell.
You could feel yourself start to float in and out of consciousness. You tried to ground yourself by focusing on something. You looked at his hands that were outstretched.
Those hands that you held on your first date. The hands that hover your back anywhere you go. The hands that lift you up from the couch on movie nights to bring you to bed. The hands that move in just the right way when making love to you. The hands that were now shaking, not out of anger, but fear. You loved those hands.
"Y/N? Baby?" Paul said louder, more urgently as he could see you fading.
You watched him get blurry as the world started to spin.
"Paul," you murmured, before fading into darkness. The last thing you remember were the hands that caught you before you hit the ground.
"Y/N!!!" Paul screamed as he caught your body falling into him.
Sam ran back, telling him Sue was just up the street. He instructed Paul to carry you inside and onto the bed. The pack dispersed, each trying to find something to help you such as towels, an emergency kit and pillows.
Paul held you close as he lay you down, while repeatedly whispering in your ear.
"I'm so sorry baby. I'm so-so sorry. I cant lose you. Youre everything to me. I'll never yell at you again. I swear on my life. You can do whatever you want. I'll do whatever you want. Please, I love you." Paul pressed kisses to your hairline when Sue and her nurse friend entered.
Jared reluctantly came in behind them to lead Paul out of the room as they worked.
"Come on man, she'll wake up soon I promise."
After he was guided out, Paul slid down to sit on the other side of the door, refusing to move. Jared didn't push it, leaning down to sit next to him.
"Sue's seen this kind of stuff before. Just needs stitching up and stuff," Jared reassured as he put his hand on Paul's shoulder.
"It's not the injuries I'm worried about. So much as what she'll think of me when she wakes up. I....I fucked this one up, Jare."
"If Emily can forgive Sam, I think Y/N will forgive you. She's crazy about your ass."
Paul just nodded, praying he was right.
~
Your eyes fluttered open slowly as you woke. You looked around to see that you had been bandaged up along your left side, an IV attached to your arm sat close by. You attempted to sit up, whining when the pain wouldn't allow it. Within a few minutes Emily entered, her face showing relief.
"You're up! How are you feeling?" She checked the IV before sitting on the edge of the bed, careful of your body.
"Sore...where's, where's Paul?" Your heart ached as you started to replay what happened. There was no doubt in your mind what happened was an accident. You had seen the signs he always warned you about, and chose to ignore them in the heat of the argument. Not only that, but the look on his face when you had refused him was too much to bare.
Emily smiled, not expecting you to want to see him so soon.
"He's just outside the door. Hasn't moved. He didn't know if you'd want to see him..."
"I need to talk to him."
It hadn't even been a few seconds when Paul stood at the door. He looked more out of shape than you did. The disheveled hair and dark circles under his eyes told you he hadn't slept in days.
"I'll give you two some space. Just holler if you need anything," Emily spoke as she stood up, making her way around him and down the stairs.
Paul remained where he stood,
"If you don't want to be with me I understand. I have no words for my actions other than I am so...." he cleared his throat, trying not to cry. "So incredibly sorry I put you through this. I put you in danger when I was trying to keep you out of it. You don't have to stay I-"
"Paul please just kiss me." You interrupted, not wanting to hear the rest as you already made up your mind in forgiving him.
He stood for just a moment longer, trying to comprehend if he heard you correctly. It was when you weakly opened your arms for him that he wasted no time in rushing over to you, cupping your face and gently yet passionately kissed you with everything he had. Tears flowed his cheeks at the relief that you still wanted him. Even after everything he had put you through.
You two pulled back for air after a moment, and you ran your hand through his hair.
"I forgive you, okay? I can't imagine my life without you."
He let out a breath, smiling for the first time in weeks.
"It will never happen again. I swear on my fucking life baby." He caressed your hair, neck, landing his palm on your heart.
You two sat like that for awhile. Almost scared to leave each other's presence. You two talked for hours on the bed. Paul had confessed that the night before, while you were sleeping, the pack had fought with the Cullens. You learned that Paul refused to go, not wanting to leave your side. You were grateful to hear that Sam didn't push on him being there, knowing you were all that mattered to him, and he'd refuse him if he had too. Even if it went against his every instinct as a wolf. Turns out that Jacob had imprinted on your niece, and Bella had survived, now as a vampire.
You weren't particularly thrilled your sister was now a bloodsucker, but as long as she was alive, you were happy.
Paul eventually made his way to the other side of the bed, kissing every exposed inch of you, whispering all the things he loved about you in your ear until you fell asleep.
When your heartbeat slowed down and he was sure you were out, he reached down and felt the velvet box in his pocket. No doubt in his mind about the future you both held.

Not Letting You Go Easy - Part 2
Tumblr media
Hello friends!! So sorry this took so long. Let me know what you think :) 2.5K Words ❤️
You gasped as you woke, breathing heavy before squinting your eyes at the Florida sun.
It was just a nightmare. The sharp red eyes. The blood spilling. The agonizing clutch of a hand on your throat....just a nightmare.
You must have dozed off, the sound of the waves and thoughts of first meeting Paul putting you in a relaxing slumber. But there was nothing relaxing about what you dreamt up. As you adjusted to sit up, everything started to vanish in your mind. You tried hard to remember the details, but within a minute it was all gone.
Yet you couldn't shake the feeling of fear.
Leaning over to gaze inside the house, you made eye contact with Edward. The man always looked uneasy, but the expression on his face was...different. That's when it clicked.
He read your thoughts. He watched everything.
"Well good morning sleepy head, this weather is just too peaceful not to nap, isn't it?" Your mother beamed from the other side of you, making you turn your head.
"Yep. It's the best. I'm uhhh, gonna go grab a drink." You tried to sound as normal as possible, making a beeline for the door. As soon as the latch clicked in place on on the other side, you faced him.
"What did you see." You said, more so demanded. "I don't know what you're talking about." He swallowed, looking elsewhere now to avoid your hard stare.
"Come on Edward. I know just as much as Bella and I must say, I am more entitled to my own thoughts than you are." You crossed your arms. That made him crack a small smile. "You are more entitled than me, yes. It's just a nightmare. Bella used to have them when I left. They don't always mean something.." He tried to say nonchalantly.
For being alive for hundreds of years, you'd think he'd be better at lying.
You huffed. "I beg to differ. All this supernatural shit isn't just a fantasy anymore." He nodded in agreement. "It's unrealistic, I know. But I do think it was just a nightmare." You narrowed your eyes. "If myself or my sister were in danger, you'd tell us...right?" He hesitated. Pausing for a moment. "I will always protect you both and Charlie." You nodded, turning your back to head for the refrigerator. You weren't going to argue the fact that he didn't answer your question.
Whatever it was, you'd have to find answers from someone else.
- - -
Your back pressed against the kitchen counter as you were trapped in a strong embrace. Heat took over your body, Paul burying his face in your neck. His strong hands roamed every crevice of your body he could. He held you as if his grip loosening would have you slip away. You giggled when he peppered your face with kisses, inhaling your scent like he hadn't had oxygen in days.
"So how much did you miss me?" You teased as he moved his hands up to cup your face, kissing you with every ounce of passion he could muster. He rested his forehead on yours. "I could spend the rest of my life showing you." You could feel your cheeks turn bright red.
"GAGGG!" You jumped at Jared's loud introduction when he entered the house, making him and Quil who had followed snicker.
"Scare my girlfriend like that again Jared and I'll kick your ass." Paul said with a glare. Jared threw his hands up in defense with a mouth full of food.
You whipped your head to look at Paul again. "Girlfriend?"
It was Paul's turn to blush. While it was quite obvious that you two were together, and imprints, you were nervous to call him your boyfriend. The relationship was going what felt perfectly and you didn't want to screw up anything by labeling it too fast.
After all, he only imprinted on you two months ago, and had never been in a relationship before. Emily had told you in private that he would never even mention a girls name, because no one ever became more than a hook up. You also learned that he never believed he would find his imprint. He had a raging temper that apparently subsided a lot once he found you.
The pack, though teasing, was grateful for that.
You had become closer with Emily the past few weeks. Kim as well. They helped you understand imprinting, and navigating their crazy lifestyle. They were a good confidants, and you looked up to both like sisters. Bella was okay and all, but since finding Edward your relationship had grown distant. No hard feelings for that anymore, not when you had this second family.
Before either of the boys could make a comment at Paul's redden cheeks, Sam's loud voice boomed from the front door.
"Boys, I need you in the yard. We have something we need to discuss." Sam looked around, and held your gaze for what felt like longer than everyone else. You could feel Paul stiffen.
"I'll be right back baby," he quickly pecked your forehead before running after the others outside.
Emily and Kim watched them pass as they came in with groceries. They both smiled seeing you. "Boy are we glad you're back. Paul was getting a little too cranky," Kim laughed. You did too, helping them start to put everything away. It was silent for a few minutes before Kim said what you were already thinking.
"What was that all about with Sam? Sounded serious."
Both your eyes went to Emily who had a somber expression, different from her usual positive and bubbly attitude. She sighed.
"I don't know any specifics yet. I can sense when he's worried and, well, I just don't have a good feeling." She said.
"Do you think it's the red head that they've been after?" Kim offered, and you froze.
"I do. I'm just hoping they can actually work with the Cullens. The more help they have against her the better."
"What red head?"
Now both of them looked at you.
"Paul didn't....he didn't tell you?" Kim whispered, like it was now a secret.
"No. He did not. Please, someone enlighten me."
Kim and Emily shared a look.
Emily shrugged, "Someone has too," before you all made your way to the table.
Emily poured you coffee, and explained that Victoria was in the area. Immediately, you remembered she was part of the rogue trio that tried to hunt down your sister. You learned that she had been heading to your house every night, multiple times a week. The wolves and the Cullens have tried to hold her off, but she won't stop until she has revenge.
The more details you were told, the angrier you were.
That's what your dream was about. It wasn't just 'some nightmare'.
You expected Edward to keep things hush. You expected that if Bella knew, she'd probably keep it from you too. But Paul? Never. You told each other everything. You had even remembered making him promise to always be honest with you. With all the craziness you now knew about this world, you thought the least he would do is be open with you. Especially when it quite literally involved you. Keeping you in the dark when even the other girls knew was bullshit, and you were fuming.
Emily must have noticed the change in your behavior. "I'm so sorry he didn't tell you Y/N. But just know he probably did it to protect you."
You shook your head, tears welling up in your eyes in frustration. You hated crying in front of other people. Especially when you weren't sad, you were pissed.
"I appreciate it but trust is just a big thing for me. Jared told you. Sam told you. I mean, for god's sake my SISTER is the one this pyscho is after." You threw up your hands scoffing.
The girls both nodded their heads in agreement, Emily rubbed your arm.
"Im gonna head out. I really don't want to see him right now.."
Emily grabbed my elbow. "Now wait a minute. You're allowed to do what you want but please, don't stay at your house. I don't have a good feeling about it..."
"Okay. I'll call my sister."
-
Much to your relief, Alice saw everything that had happened in a vision, and it was actually Bella that called you first.
She told you that you were welcome to stay at the Cullens house for the night, and apologized for not telling you about the situation. You snorted when she said she had assumed Paul would fill you in.
What a joke that was.
You were half way to the house when your phone started erupting with the missed calls from Paul. It didn't stop. One call after another. A few texts in between. You didn't even read them, rolling your eyes and making the decision to just turn it off.
One thing Paul didn't know, was that when you're upset you just need space. You knew it wasn't a huge deal, but you were angry he didn't tell you. You felt like a child that everyone knew except for you. Like you couldn't handle it. You told yourself you just needed a good nights sleep and you'd call him in the morning.
Or so you thought.
You drove down the windy back road that led to the Cullen house. You've driven this road plenty of times, but goosebumps arose on your skin at the darkness. It wasn't until now that you realized you'd only ever come during the day, and there was little to nothing guiding you except the headlights of your car.
From afar you started to notice a small figure right in the middle of the road. It didn't seem to be moving so you slowed down, driving closer for a better look.
At first glance you thought your mind was playing tricks on you, but pulling up you were able to make out the deer that laid slain in the road. You sighed of relief, then cringed.
Really, they can't clean up after they eat?
There was no way to get around it on the tiny road, so you reached over to grab your phone and call Bella.
In no way were you getting out of your car in the middle of this spookville.
You managed to turn your phone on, and-
BANG!
The phone flew out of your hand as you covered your head.
What the HELL was that?
You took a minute to breathe, ears on high alert and eyes shut preparing for the worst.
It was silent.
So silent you could hear yourself breathe. You slowly uncovered your head, opening your eyes to look around. It was when you looked up that your stomach dropped.
The roof had a ginormous dent in it. Before you could process any sort of thought, your driver door was ripped from its hinges. You whipped your head to come face to face with....her. You didn't have to know what she looked like to know who it was.
You went open your mouth but nothing came out. You couldn't scream, couldn't talk, could not even move. You were paralyzed in your seat.
It was when you finally found some semblance of your voice that she grabbed your head, slamming it against the car, knocking you out cold.
-
Paul couldn't stop pacing. As soon as the call would go to voicemail, he'd hang up and call again.
How could he have been so stupid? The promise he made played over and over in his head.
'I'll always be honest with you.' 'We're in this together.'
He knew he should have told her once Jared and Sam filled their imprints in. But he didn't want to lose her. In a couple of months her world had turned upside down, and it was shocking enough that she stayed upon knowing who he was. What he could be. But then to have her immediately be a target of danger? He was too scared to see her reaction.
But this one was worse.
"Just relax dude, she'll get over it and call you back. She's not gonna answer if you keep blowing her up." Quil rolled his eyes as he went for a muffin.
Paul stopped mid pace, staring daggers at him.
"Shut the FUCK up, Quil."
Before he lunged or phased right there in the kitchen, Sam stormed in from the room with Jared right behind.
"What is going on?"
"Paul's going nuts because Y/N hasn't answered his calls." Embry said simply, Quil too afraid to say anything and get his ass kicked.
Emily got up to stand in the middle, "She was on her way to the Cullens house.."
Jared and Sam's eyes widened.
"WHY?!?" Sam barked, making Kim who sat at the table wince. Emily rested her hand on Kim's shoulder.
"She found out about Victoria. She was upset Paul didn't tell her and-"
" AND YOU LET HER GO ALONE? WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ANY OF US?" Sam's voice remained loud and angry.
Quil and Embry now shared a worried glance at Paul, who looked completely disheveled, breathing heavily.
"I-I don't know I just hadnt heard about her in the area in a couple of days and Bella is aware she's coming there so-" Emily's eyes started to well with tears and she realized how stupid it was to let Y/N leave on her own.
Sams ringtone cut the tension in a room.
"Hello?" Sams face froze. He looked at Paul.
"We'll be right there."

Not Letting You Go Easy - Paul Lahote x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media
IM BACKKKKKKK!!! Wow I just checked my last fic and it's been TWO years. Does anyone even remember me? 🥹 I'm back on my twilight bs, this one is my longest ever! Let me know what you think! - 3.2K Words ❤️
*Second Person POV*
The sun poured on your face as you soaked in all the warmth it allowed. You missed the sun, watching the palm trees sway peacefully as the ocean tide rolls in. The goosebumps that arise on your skin as a strong breeze passes, the warmth blanketing back over them.
You keep your eyes shut as your mouth curls up in a smirk, listening faintly to your mom try and convince your sister to stay in Jacksonville. She could offer up the moon and all the stars...Bella would still choose Edward, every time. It's true that you were weary of the vampire, after she flew like a bat out of hell half way across the world to Italy to save him. But could you blame her?
If it wasn't for your sister stumbling her way into the supernatural world, it's possible you could have never met Paul. A blush crept up your cheeks as you crack a full smile, thinking back to the day you met the hot head.
~
There was absolutely zero hesitation when you followed behind Bella in the truck to go to Jacob's. You had been worried for weeks about your sister, who had been spiraling ever since she was ghosted a second time by someone she trusted. Not only did you care about your her, but Jacob too. He had been around your family for years, and this behavior...especially towards Bella...was concerning. So when she frantically barged in your room asking you to go with, you were out of the house in minutes.
You had taken off in a sprint to try and keep up with your sisters manic running towards the group of shirtless men in Jacob's backyard. You heard rumors of the so called "cult" that had formed in the recent weeks. Jacob's haircut and tattoo had confirmed that part. But seeing the others approach through his window, you knew this was going to be a bad idea. You barely had time to catch your breath before her hand came in contact with one of their faces. You let a gasp slip as you made it in time to yank her back by the elbow.
What had gotten into her!?
Not able to process why she would resort to slapping him in the first place, the man, who looked like a carbon copy of the other ones standing around, began to shake violently. The others were urging you both to get back while attempting to calm him down. Never in your life had you witnessed such immense anger. In seconds his shakes became tremors. It was as if he ripped apart, and in his place stood a massive grey wolf. Mirroring the emotions of the man before, the animal was growling, snarling at your sister with its teeth bared.
Your heart was beating out of your chest. You felt as if you were dreaming, blinking rapidly to make sure this was real. Not standing around to question the animal who could very well kill you, Bella grabbed your hand and you both booked it towards the house. The outburst must have woken Jacob, who was running towards the scene. Bellas blood curdling scream was telling him to go back, though he kept charging forward.
You both fell hands first onto the grass as Jacob launched over you both, shreds of clothes flying as yet another wolf emerged.
Now it was you who was shaking. The only thing that prevented you from having a panic attack was realizing that all the other men were calm, as if this happened all the time. You swallowed your fear as you accepted the hand of one of the younger men, who led you two back to the truck by the order of the oldest one.
As you walked into the cozy secluded home, your mind was running a million miles a minute. They were werewolves....as if after learning vampires existed wasnt a shock enough already.
The oldest one, fiancé, Emily, you had learned, helped ease some of the headache. Besides the scar she wore upon her face that made your stomach drop when you first saw her, she was the epitome of kindness. You could see when she was greeted by Sam that their love was far more deep rooted than the mark she wore. Only knowing her for an hour, you felt happy for the girl.
You vaguely registered Jacob returning, finally looking away from the couple when you heard an unfamiliar voice apologize to Bella. As he then turned your way, you both locked eyes. An electric current jolted through your body, through your veins as you held his stare. You felt a fuzzy warm feeling race its way all the way down to your toes. The feeling lasted what felt like forever, until Jacob's "no fucking way...." pulled you back to earth. It's as if you had been some other place. A place of immense happiness and love. You knew you looked as bright as a tomato when you realized all eyes were on the two of you, mortified they caught you staring.
You did a quick scan of the room, noticing they were paying more attention to the man rather than you, who, was still staring.
When you craned your neck to look at Bella behind you, you found relief in that she looked just as confused.
The man was slapped on the back by Embry, which snapped him out of his trance. He quietly introduced himself as Paul. You blushed hard when you quickly said your name back. As if to break the tension in the room, Jacob asked you both to go for a walk.
Before you left, you had sworn you heard Paul growl.
"Not now. She's been through too much today already." Sam lowly said to him. You furrowed your brows as you trailed behind your sister out of the house.
After a walk on the beach and many questions answered, you were able to take a deep breath. The world was getting scary for you, but Jacob seemed to ease your fears, promising he would always protect you both.
Before he dropped you both off at your house, he had mentioned going to a pack bonfire the following night. You couldn't help but get excited at the prospect of seeing Paul again. You both hadn't even spoke other than introductions, but there was some type of spark in your core when you both met.
Attempting to shove it away, you reminded yourself it was nothing but a crush.
~
You sat on a log by the fire, rubbing your hands together in front of it. Everyone was up gathering their food, but you were focused on the warmth as it was more than chilly outside. Nerves bubbled in you as Paul approached, asking to sit next to you. Your cheeks heated as he sat, only inches away.
"I just wanted to apologize about yesterday," he spoke, his voice gruff as he looked into the fire. "You could have gotten hurt and I let my anger get the best of me. I promise I'm not like that all the time, and I don't want you to be afraid of me."
Your heart melted at how softly he spoke. "It's really alright. My sister acts out of impulse, if you couldn't tell." This got him to laugh lightly. You laughed too, until a strong breeze made you break out into a shiver.
Paul immediately noticed, grabbing a blanket from the pile beside him. "Here," he said as he wrapped one around you. His warmth radiated off you as he had gotten closer to do so. Not even realizing what you were saying you spoke, "I bet your girlfriend never gets cold with you around." To your embarrassment but surprise he cracked a big smile. "I bet she would, if I had one." It was your turn to smile. "What about you?" You shook your head no as Paul let out a small breath that almost sounded like relief.
Before either of you could say something more, everyone gathered around the fire. The legends of the tribe had you captivated. So much history that you were never aware of, right under your nose. You could feel Paul glance at you every so often, gauging your reaction to everything that was said.
When the fire died down and Jacob's dad came to a stopping point, everyone quietly mingled until deciding to call it a night. You had talked to Paul the entire time, getting to know the basics. You had a lot more in common than you thought. The more you learned about him, the more you liked him. A lot. He followed you to Bella's truck, shoving his hands in his pockets.
"I had a really good time tonight" you spoke softly, now inches away from his face. You were so close you could feel his breath.
"I did too. I hope this won't be the last time I see you?" he questioned.
You glanced past him to see Bella and Jacob making their way up the hill.
"With everything going on, everything that's happening...I have a feeling we won't be going away anytime soon."
Paul smiled.
This is the part where he'll kiss me, you think. Your heart beats fast in anticipation.
But Paul just stands there. Staring. He stood there so long that you cleared your throat awkwardly.
"I'll see you around Paul." You tried to hide the disappointment on your face as you climbed into the truck and shut the door. He had let you, still standing there for a moment before turning around to walk back to the house.
Tears welled up in your eyes. How foolish were you, to think that a guy like Paul Lahote would just sweep you off your feet? Sure, a kiss might be moving fast for the first night, but he didn't even give you his number. You analyzed everything you had said to each other. Nothing was even romantic, so why on earth would you think he liked you back? Pathetic.
Bella said goodbye to Jacob and got in the truck. One thing you loved most about your sister was that she knew you better than anyone else. And if there was one thing you hated, it was when people asked if you were upset. One look in your direction and she didn't say a word, starting the truck and driving off. She knew when you were ready to talk, you would.
*Paul's POV*
I turned around, watching the truck drive away, getting smaller and smaller in the distance. I was frozen in place.
What is wrong with me?
"Everything go okay?" Sam approached, clearly sensing my distress.
"I'm never like this with women, Sam. I should have kissed her, but I didn't. I stood there, right in front of her with my mouth open like a fucking fish. I-I've never felt this way-" I rambled on.
"Dude it's alright" Sam interrupted, "Did you tell her that she's your imprint?"
I sighed. "I didn't even get that far. I don't, I don't want her to feel forced to like me like that right away. I want to treat it like a normal relationship....but I think I went ahead and screwed it up anyways." I huffed.
Sam placed his hand on my shoulder. "Deep breathes. You didn't screw anything up, you just met her. You can tell her about the imprinting when you're comfortable....as far as the kiss, well, it's never too late." Sam held up keys to his vehicle, putting them in my hand. "Only if you need them." He slapped me on the shoulder, winking, as he walked back to where Emily was.
I watched him sneak up behind her, she giggled as he peppered kisses on the back of her neck. I knew what he was doing. And it was working, as I made my way towards his car.
*Back to Second Person POV*
You sniffled, taking a deep breath. You were done crying over this man. This man you had literally just met. So what if he didn't like you? There is a million other people out there. Why did you care so much?
A knock on the door interrupted your thoughts. Charlie was gone over night on a hunting trip and Bella was fast asleep.
Another knock. It was almost damn near midnight. As you slowly approached the door, bat in hand, you looked through the peep hole.
It was Paul.
You flung open the door, ready to ask him what the hell him problem was, when he lunged forward. Grabbing you by the face, he kissed you feverishly. Your heart pounded in your chest as you melted into the kiss, tongues dancing together in perfect harmony. One hand held you by the hair as the other grabbed you by the waist, pulling you impossibly closer. When you both needed to breathe you pulled away, Paul's hand held tightly so you couldn't go too far. He leaned his forehead against yours, panting.
"I am so sorry I didn't do this when you left. You, you make me nervous. It's a feeling I've never really had before. When you left I- I didn't want to let you go that easy. I'm sorry." He said.
You leaned in to kiss him once, slowly, softly. "I've been waiting for you to do that," you smiled. "There's a lot more where that came from...if you'll have me." he said, his hand sliding down to interlock with yours, bringing back up to place a gentle kiss on the top.
"I couldn't imagine anything better." you grinned.
*Paul's POV*
Y/N guided me to the couch, asking to stay awhile. We held each other until the sun came up, just talking. It was as if everything right there had changed for me. She would be my number one priority, to have and protect. I vowed to myself that I would do anything she asked, that I will love her no matter the cost. Whatever makes her happy.
I had to leave before Charlie got home, but not without a heated make out session at the door. It took everything in me to pull away from her, both of us lingering. Despite her not letting go either, I could see the bags under her eyes forming.
"Get some sleep baby, text me when you wake up okay?" She nodded, and after a good 20 minutes of more kissing, I left.
I understood why Sam was always mopey without Emily around. As I drove away I could feel my heart ache like something was missing. This was a whole new feeling, and for the first time I thanked whatever spirits gave me her.
My imprint.
I bit my lip as I remembered I still had to tell her. I'm worried about how she'll take it, but there was something heavier on my mind.
Victoria.

I thought you’d be happy - Embry Call X Reader
Tumblr media
A request for @redradspberry ❤️ 1.8K words, cursing
“Are you okay?”
I asked him as he bore his eyes into mine. This seemed to shake him out of his trance, blinking a few times before nodding.
“Y-y-yeah, wow. Sorry I just..got lost in this daydream I guess.” He said, sounding like he was almost trying to convince himself.
I simply turned back to the ocean in silence, feeling my toes dip in the sand as we sat. Embry was my best friend, and I could tell when he wasn’t feeling like himself. Today was one of those days. But this, this was unusual. After weeks of begging to hang out he finally agreed to a beach day. The entire time I could sense that he was uncomfortable. Almost like someone forced him to show up, or that he did just so I would stop pestering him.
“You seem different,” I mumbled. I had a hard time of holding back my feelings when it came to him.
He sighed, relieved that I said something to break the tension first.
“I’m sorry Y/N. I want to tell you everything but it’s.....a lot. I just had to be away for awhile and I didn’t mean to hurt you. I promise that I’m here now, I’m not going anywhere.” He said sincerely.
“Embry we’re best friends. Even if it’s the most embarrassing, silliest thing in the world you know you can tell me,” I pleaded, frustrated.
“I can’t”
“Why?!?”
“PLEASE, Y/N. Damn....I just, can’t....okay?” He said as he ran his fingers through his now chopped locks, looking down at the ground. I huffed, shaking my head. I was torn between just believing him and moving on, but also wondering what the hell it was that he had to hide from me. Someone who he told everything too, who I thought he had trusted. Deciding against my protesting thoughts I nodded, a simple, “Okay” for now.
I leaned my head on his shoulder, widening my eyes slightly at just how hot his skin felt on this chilly day. He swung his arm over me, the heat engulfing. Before I knew it, I was asleep.
I woke up the next day in my own bed, confused and groggy until I reached for my phone, reading a text at the top from Embry.
‘You work too much or what?? Sleepyhead! Goodnight.’
I smiled and blushed as I realized I had fallen asleep on him at the beach. It was like I felt at home with him, this warmth spreading through me as I thought about it. I quickly shook my head and shoved my feelings down my throat. I couldn’t think about him like that. He was my best friend, and I had a boyfriend.
~
Days passed and life was seemingly normal. But what I felt, was the opposite. I couldn’t stop thinking about that day on the beach. What Embry had said, and the feelings that bubbled up in my stomach. No matter what I tried to focus on, my mind wandered back to him. Work was a drag as usual but having Corey there didn’t make it all bad. He was being extra loving lately, and I know it was because I was acting distant. I felt guilty, making up excuses not to see him or telling him I just needed space. I figured if I spent enough time away from him then I’d miss him, but that never happened. I didn’t see Embry in person again but we talked constantly. Texting all day and night. I was frustrated at myself. It wasn’t a crime to talk to him. Corey knew we grew up together and were very close. But my thoughts started to ask what it would be like if things were....different.
It had been a couple weeks before I was sitting in my bedroom that I got a text from Embry that made my heart race.
‘If you’re free...I’m ready to tell you what happened. But I would like for it to be in person.’
Without a second thought I grabbed a jacket, racing out of the house and into my car.
He texted me to meet him at Emily’s instead of his house. I loved Emily a lot but I thought it was strange that he would want to tell me something apparently so private with other people around.
I pulled up to see him on the porch, shirtless standing with Paul, Sam, and Quil. I couldn’t help staring at his toned chest.
Come on Y/N, get a grip.
I walked up to a smiling Embry, and couldn’t help but notice the boys snicker and pat him on the back before jogging into the woods.
“Hey, I’m really glad you came,” he said pulling me into a hug. One that I didn’t want to pull away from. He took me around to the backyard, having me stand at a great distance from him.
“You remember the legends growing up?” He semi yelled, making me chuckle.
“Uh yeah some of them? Why?”
He sighed, rubbing his hands together nervously.
“The legends that say we descend from wolves....I found out a month ago that they are....well, true.” He said.
I furrowed my eyebrows,
“I don’t understand.”
As if to answer my question I watched my best friend rip himself apart wildly, in an instant a giant wolf taking his place. I immediately backed up and fell flat on my butt as I was shocked to my core.
What the actual hell?
The wolf laid down, whimpering to show no aggression. I couldn’t get myself to close my mouth, in complete awe that something like this could exsist, that someone I loved had this ability. Still frozen I watched the wolf trot into the shadows of the forest behind the house, and out emerged Embry.
He slowly approached me as I stood.
“Wow,” is the only thing I could muster out of my mouth.
“See why I wanted to show you in person?” He laughed as I just nodded, eyes still wide.
He carefully held my arm as he lead me inside, “I’ll explain everything, okay?” He whispered into my ear as I shivered. I felt a feeling of safety with him still, regardless of the terrifying events from before. I just couldn’t understand how.
Inside the house he explained everything to me. How he found out, how he was afraid of himself for awhile, why he avoided me.....and, imprinting.
“But....I have a boyfriend Embry..” I said as my heart winced seeing his face drop.
“It doesn’t have to be like that Y/N. I’ll just, always be here for you.” He said more quietly than he was talking before.
We sat in silence, reminding me of our time on the beach. ‘It wasn’t my fault, things just happened at the wrong time.’ I told myself.
After what seemed like an eternity I could tell that Embry didn’t want to talk anymore, so I got up to leave. He didn’t say a word as I walked out the door, tears streaming down my face. Did he think this would go another way?
Weeks went by, and I was physically sick. Embry and I hadn’t talked since I left. I texted and called only to get read reciepts and voicemails. When I wasnt at work I was curled in bed, wishing for the pain to go away. Corey eventually quit his job and confessed that he had been seeing someone else. While this added to my pain, I couldn’t blame him. It was bound to happen eventually and by the next day I was completely over it. But Embry....I was not over. I was in a tail spin constantly of thinking it was my fault that we hadn’t spoken, that I should have just told him how I felt. But that was wrong, so wrong. I had a boyfriend at the time. I put my pillow over my face in frustration, getting angrier by the second. It wasn’t my fault. I didn’t have to drop everything because of the imprint. I didn’t have to love him because fate said so. These thoughts fueled a fire within me and before I knew it, I was driving to his house.
Seeing his truck in the driveway and no one else I banged my fist against the door. Quickly it was opened to see a suprised Embry, something that just made me more mad.
“OH!!! So you’re not dead in the woods somewhere to not answer my calls?!?” I said loudly as he sighed. Before he could say anything else I pushed my way inside. I felt energized for the first time in weeks, eager to say exactly what was on my mind.
“You know what sucks?? When someone says they will be there for you but doesn’t pick up the phone. When someone shares a big part of their life with you but doesn’t get what they want out of it so they just cut you out forever.”
At this point he was as still as a stone, complete shock written all over his face as he listened. This didn’t stop him from retailating
“I wasn’t going to get in the way of your relationship. I’m there for you by leaving you to be with him, without me being a burden.”
He said, hurt in his voice.
“Well maybe if you fucking paid attention you would have realized that Corey didn’t make me happy. You did! Boyfriend after boyfriend and no one can ever give me what you can. To feel like home. No one can put me through pain like you can when you ignore me.....so just....just! FUCK YOU!!!” I screamed, tears now pouring down my face.
Without hesitation he came forward and I collapsed in his chest sobbing. He rubbed my back up and down, “Shhh baby I’m so sorry,” I could hear his voice crack as I glanced up to see his eyes glossed over. “You were always with him, I thought you’d be happy....” he said as he wiped the flowing tears from my cheeks. I shook my head and pouted like a child.
“No. No. We were friends before yes but....I just realized why it hadn’t worked out with the others. I want you,” I sniffled, feeling my cheeks read from crying so hard.
“I’ve always wanted you,” He confessed in a whisper. I sat up now, looking into his eyes. We both kept quiet, until he lifted his strong hands to cup my cheeks. I moved now, crashing our lips together. This feeling of a euphoria burst within my body as he held the kiss with his hand in my hair. The imprint made sense now. Anything and everything that was confusing about our friendship.....made sense. He pulled away, profusely apologizing for ignoring me as he peppered kisses on my face. He held his forehead against mine. “God Y/N.....you have no idea how many times I did that in my dreams,” he lightly laughed, feeling embarrassed at his confession.
“I’m not going anywhere.” I said as I drew circles on his chest.
“Please don’t. Ever.” He kissed my forehead.

Mine Again - Paul Lahote X Reader
Tumblr media
Few curse words. 1.2K words ❤️ Angst to Fluff
*Y/N’s POV*
“I can’t do this anymore”
The words played over and over again on an obsessive repeat in my mind. I slowly addressed myself in the mirror, taking a deep breath I shook out my hands as I felt myself start to sweat. Nervous was an understatement. I was full on nauseous at the idea of facing him again. Standing next to him, pretending I was okay when I missed him like crazy. Reminiscing on all the times he said it would be us in this position, vowing to be together forever. I silently batted away a tear at the memory.
*Paul’s POV*
I adjusted my tie as I looked in the mirror. The feeling of hurt wrapped around my heart and choked it as I thought about Y/N. Today would be the day that I would force myself to smile, and laugh with my family. I didn’t want to put a damper on my best friend’s wedding because I completely ruined things in my own love life. I sighed as I thought about all the times I went to look at rings. Thinking about us getting married, how I would propose. The pit in my stomach grew as I got excited at the idea of us facing eachother again. Maybe this time I won’t let her go so easily.
*Y/N’s POV*
I was sat chatting with Kim and Sue when the wedding planner came through the door, bright smile on her face as she announced it was time. Panic must have been evident on my face because I could suddenly feel Kim gently put her hand on my back and push me to the door. As soon as we walked out, there they were. There he was. Amongst all the other groomsmen he kept his eyes on me, and I was almost sure I saw sorrow in his eyes. I held a lump in my throat as the planner pushed us together, asking us to loop arms and walk down the aisle. Carefully he linked his arm through mine, the touch of his hand jolted me like an electric shock. He cleared his throat before whispering, “You look absolutely beautiful.” Keeping his eyes straight ahead. The heat rushed to my cheeks as I kept silent. I was so stunned he said anything to me that I wasn’t prepared to say anything back.
Did he regret our break up too? Was he just making things less awkward?
The wedding was everything you’d expect it to be. Emily looked stunning in her dress, Sam shedding a few tears as she walked down the isle (which the boys would never live down later). They were both as happy as ever, and despite being over the moon for my best friend, my eyes continued to linger on Paul. Everytime I would glance at him, he would be already looking at me. Immediately we would put our heads down, but my heart rate accelerated.
The reception took place at a local banquet hall, and everyones energy was ecstatic. The boys were dancing, the elders eating, and others chatting about how perfect Emily & Sam are together. I was in a conversation with Sue when I could feel my stomach ache. I excused myself to go get some food, realizing we had been so busy all day no one had time to eat.
As I grabbed a plate looking at the buffet in front of me I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned to face a tall and tan man who was smiling down at me.
“Hey there, you’re Y/N right?” He said.
“Yes I am, you are?”
“Sam’s cousin, John. On his dad’s side of the family that is.” He smiled, and when he did I could tell him and Sam had similar facial features.
“Oh well it’s nice to meet you,” I said turning back to the food.
“I-I just wanted to say that you’re like, really gorgeous.” He stuttered nervously. I was taken aback by his compliment, suddenly feeling awkward.
“Thank you,” I said politely as I tried for the second time to go back to the food in front of me. He was kind no doubt, but I didn’t find myself wanting to pursue anything.
“Would you possibly like to go on a date with me?” He asked gently.
When I opened my mouth to speak I was cut off by a low growl. I whipped my head around to see Paul standing right behind me, shaking violently.
“No no no no” I said frantically as I set my plate down, grabbing ahold of his hand and rushing outside.
The absolute last thing I wanted was for him to phase, not only outting the secret but ruining the wedding. All over me.
As soon as we were where no one could see us I stood in front of him, attempting to calm his anger.
“Hey hey, look at me. Stop.” I cooed as I put my hands on his arms. He looked into my eyes as his shaking gradually slowed to a light vibration.
“I fucked up,” He said as his voice cracked, almost as if he was about to cry.
“No you didn’t! I don’t think anyone even saw you-“
“No. I fucked up with us. I should have fought for us. I’m damn miserable without you Y/N” He interrupted me. My heart exploded as I once again had no words, so instead I pulled him into a tight embrace. He buried his head into my neck as I could feel him sigh of relief.
“I thought maybe you wouldn’t care anymore,” I mumbled admittedly. He pulled back, holding my cheeks in his hands as he wiped away the lone tear that dropped from my eyes.
“I could never stop caring about you. God, even the thought of you with someone else...” His grip tightened as I crashed my lips against his. Partly so he wouldnt shift, but also to let him know that I felt the same way.
His tongue danced with mine for a moment as we pulled away out of breath. His forehead rested against mine as he held my hands in his.
“Be mine again. Please,” He pleaded.
“You have me forever.”
We sat there wrapped up in eachothers arms for what seemed like an hour, before the door opened interrupting us.
“Jared you’re an idiot. There’s no such thing as a- oh. Hi guys,” Embry smirked as he turned to see us up against the wall of the building.
“Who are you talking too?” Jared asked as he nosed his way around him, smirking also when he saw us.
“Well well well what do we have here? Kim come look!” He announced.
I laughed as I hid in Paul’s chest. He rolled his eyes, his grip on me still strong.
“Oh my gosh yay!!!” I heard Kim squeal as she now was also outside.
“Okay okay thank you everyone.” Paul said annoyed.
“We’ll see you guys later, we’re going home.” He took my hand as I winked at Kim.
“Appreciate if whatever you guys do tonight Paul doesn’t think about it on patrol tomorrow!” Jared shouted as we walked to his truck. I laughed once again as he pushed me up against the passenger side.
“You laugh now but I’ve been thinking about what I’m going to do to you from the moment we kissed,” he lowly said in my ear, making me shiver.
“What are we waiting for then?”

Don’t Disappear - Demetri X Reader
Tumblr media
A request for @kpopgirlbtssvt ❤️ 1.5K Words
The pain in my throat radiated down into my stomach as if something was set on fire within my body. I adjusted my eyes to my surroundings, my sudden hypersensitive hearing pierced as I heard more of the erratic screams. This was the fourth night we witnessed a group of innocent humans get turned into cold blooded monsters. I’m not sure how no one had noticed us, each night getting exceptionally more loud & chaotic than the last. I peered to watch Victoria consult with Riley in the distance. Even talking to her so called ‘lover’ she had a sheer and cunning grin.
“I heard Victoria say to him that she’s seeking revenge on a group called the ‘Cullen’s’” I whispered as lowly as possible to Bree, who sat next to me on the wet concrete.
The long brown haired girl was my absolute best friend. A spontaneous trip to the book store last weekend had turned into our worst possible nightmare. Despite being absolutely petrified of what we had become, I was happy to have someone I could trust.
“How did you hear that?!” She looked at me with wide newly red eyes.
“I’ve been practicing the thing,” I smiled as she rolled her eyes.
A few hours after they turned us, I shut my eyes in an attempt to fall asleep. Bree freaked out, frantically claiming she couldn’t see me anymore. Looking down I realized that I had in fact turned invisible. With another squeeze of my eyes, I was back.
“You really have got to be careful Y/N. They can’t see you do that. You’ll get killed.” She said as she gasped for breath.
“You have to admit, you wish you had powers.” I teased.
“I wish I had something to drink,” she said, her voice cracking. I looked at her with sad eyes. Her sweet soul would never think to feast on human blood, even for her own survival. I hated to admit that I gave in once already, waiting until it would be absolutely unbearable to do it again.
Days went by as they gathered more people. Riley had announced that morning that we were on our way to fight the so called “Cullens”. We trudged for what seemed like miles through the river and muddy grass, until we arrived to a huge field where a group of people who looked like us were waiting.
Everything happened so fast. All the other newborns suddenly raced towards them like hungry warriors. Limbs were flying and wild ripping sounds could be heard. It was when wild wolves emerged that Bree and I frantically looked at each other before ducking to a near by bush. I closed my eyes shut, my body disappearing.
The fight didn’t last long, and to be honest I didn’t expect it too. Still bewildered that werewolves also exsisted, we were no match for them and expierienced vampires combined. A couple from the group approached Bree, seemingly nice and harmless enough not to hurt her. I had wondered then what was so awful about these people to fight. I slowly followed her behind them when it ended, still invisible to everyone else. They were waiting for someone.
Not even seconds later did four vampires in cloaks emerge from the shadows. Three men, one woman. From what I had gathered they seemed to be in charge of vampires. Something Riley never bothered to tell us, at least. Their voices were smooth, their demeanor quite intimidating. My eyes landed on one of the men. I was entranced by his beauty. I had known vampires to be prettier than the average human but he.....he was gorgeous. It wasn’t until Bree shrieked that pulled me out of this trance. The woman seemed to be able to hurt her from afar. Anger suddenly boiled within me as I rushed to her side, screaming for the woman to stop. Everyone’s eyes then landed on me as I realized I had become visible again.
This caused Bree’s pain to end, and I held my tongue as I slowly stood up.
“My my....that’s interesting.” The tallest man in a cloak muttered seemingly to the woman.
She stepped forward,
“Yes..Aro might have purpose for this one.”
I looked from him, to her, to the gorgeous man again.
However this time he looked back into my eyes, looking almost stunned as he stepped back hard on the grass.
This got the attention of the other three who turned to face him.
The tall one snickered, while the woman sighed.
“Now we have no choice. Come.” She commanded to me. For whatever reason my feet did as exactly as she said. My mind telling me this was wrong, but also that I didn’t have another option.
“Demetri hold her, I don’t want her running off. Felix, take care of the other one. It’s time to go home.”
Demetri. I thought of his beautiful name.
This soon vanished when he held my arms tight. The tall one approaching Bree, with one swift move tore her to pieces.
“NOOOO!!!!!” I screamed, kicking against the man. My eyes filled with tears that I never felt run down my cheek. Whatever was put in my chest to replace my heart, broke.
~
I sat on the bed, staring at the wall for the fifth day in a row. I didn’t move, I didn’t drink. Just stared and let my thoughts consume me. After watching Bree die the Volturi took me to Italy. Showing the head master named “Aro” my powers he gleefully talked me into staying in their luxurious castle. Something that sounded like paradise, felt like hell to me. The door slowly opened, and I closed my eyes knowing who it was.
“Y/N darling, please let me see you. Please let me talk to you.” Demetri pleaded, looking out into the space of my new room. I sighed, closing my eyes again.
He sighed lowly of content. He came in at least three times a day, pleading with me to forgive him. As much as my gut wanted to absolutely hate him, my energy lifted every time he was near. I didn’t know how to describe it. He was kind, gentle, and from what I gathered so far sincere. But the part of me that felt wrong refused to let him in.
He slowly sat next to me, careful with his words and actions everytime.
“You need to drink love.”
I shook my head.
“I’m fine,” my voice cracked making me feel embarrassed.
“What can I do for you to trust me?” He whispered, hurt evident in his words. I turned to him, making eye contact for the first time in days.
This took him by suprise, as he leaned back. I was yet again captured in his bright red eyes.
“W-why do you care if I trust you?” I stuttered, looking at him while talking proved to be much more difficult.
He swallowed, as if he was also nervous.
“Riley didn’t tell you much about us, but there’s a lot you should know. A lot I’m willing to tell you. If you just let me..”
I took a deep breath. I assumed I had no choice, so I nodded.
With my permission he graciously and excitedly took my hand, leading me out of the room and into a massive library.
We talked nearly the entire night. He told me about the history of the Volturi, how he came to be a guard, his power, and upbringing. I hated to admit I was absolutely fascinated with his story, and by the mornings time, him too.
We came to a comfortable silence, and I could feel his face boring into mine. “Has anyone ever told you how beautiful you are amore?” He said just above a whisper. If I had any heat in my cheeks I would be blushing.
I fiddled with the sleeves of my sweater, “Not that I remember, no.”
I felt his hand press against my cheek as he turned my head to face him.
“Well I’ll be telling you every day for the rest of your life, so you won’t forget.”
My stomach gathered in knots as I leaned towards him, our lips pressing together.
I wasn’t sure if it was my immortality or him that made me physically feel the passion in the kiss. We pulled back as I furrowed my eyebrows, suddenly insecure.
“You’ve been alive for thousands of years. Why me?”
He held my hands then, making sure I knew he was serious when he spoke.
“Love, I’ve simply been waiting all this time for you to come along. Stay with me....please.”
I didn’t know what to say. In a matter of a week my entire life had flipped upside down before my own eyes. But as much as I wanted to deny this life, he was the closest feeling to home since I changed.
“Okay.” I whispered as he held me close, whisking me up and twirling me in the air as I laughed. He stopped and put his face in my hair, taking in my scent.
“Just don’t disappear on me anymore.” I could feel his grin.
“No promises.”

Protect You - Paul Lahote X Reader
Tumblr media
A request for @sweatywildpanda ❤️ Angst to Fluff. 1.9K words
“I can’t protect you over there, what don’t you get about that?” Paul growled. He was merely inches away from my face, but I knew he could never hurt me. Luckily Sam was a few feet behind, carefully watching us in case back up was needed.
I rolled my eyes, getting more frustrated. Everyday for the past week we had the same argument. It was more like a conflict of interest our entire relationship. Wanting to be there for my sister, but to do that meant to have my boyfriend constantly on edge. I didn’t blame him. I adored that he worried about me so much. But considering she had little to no chance to survive this, meant I had to set my foot down.
“I’m so sick of having this fight. You know I’m still going to go over there. She could die, Paul. At any second, of any minute of the day.”
His nostrils flared as he breathed heavily, running his hand through his hair.
“YOU could die, Y/N. We have no fucking idea what that thing inside her is capable of. If you got hurt before we were able to....” He tried to finish his sentence when the shaking began. Tears began to sting my eyes as I watched Sam gather Paul and rush him outside. Wiping the few that spilled I took a deep breath, and headed for my car.
~
I stood outside on the balcony of the Cullen’s, looking out into the forest. The door clicked as I looked to the side, seeing Jacob slowly approach me. I was happy he had chosen to stay here, at least I had another familiar face.
“He’s gonna get over it you know, you’re his imprint. And besides that, I’ve never seen the kid so damn in love.” He said now standing beside me.
I raised my eyebrow, “Mind link?”
He gestured his head to the house,
“Your new brother-in-law can read minds too”
I sighed, laughing lightly. I guess I couldn’t hide it from him if I tried. Fighting with Paul made my heart ache, and not having him through the stress of this situation, made it even worse.
“I just don’t like not knowing how this will end,” I admitted looking down at my feet. I felt his hand on my shoulder.
“I get it, but we’re prepared. You know you can’t be touched.” I nodded agreeing. We sat in silence for a little, and I know we were both thinking about Bella and this child. Nobody said they couldn’t be touched.
Everything stayed relatively quiet around the house. Days went by ever so slowly. My stomach churned as I watched my sister drink blood. Her face hollowed out, her bones showing. I couldn’t even remember what she looked like before she got sick. Her condition never got any better, and it was like a waiting game. Despite everyone’s protests she was determined to have this baby and be changed at the last minute. Researching deep in the night, no one knew if that was even possible.
Paul had tried to call several times, but I couldn’t bring myself to answer. If I did I knew we would argue. Or, I’d break down so bad that I would leave. I had to stay until this was over. Sometimes I would feel his presence, I’m not sure if his wolf was ever nearby or if I was just imagining things. But it desperately made me miss him more.
Despite everything I had heard on the reservation over the years, the Cullen’s were very accommodating. Esme would make food for us, Edward often thanking me for being here for Bella. The others were distant, but that didn’t mean they weren’t still kind.
We were standing around the living room tonight discussing the names that she had picked, when everything seemed like a blur. She crashed to the floor, bones cracking as she was scooped up by Edward and thrown on the hospital like table. I stayed a few feet behind Jacob as everything moved extremely fast. My nerves ceased up as I watched them frantically surround her. My hand flew over my mouth as they cut her wide open, her horrific screams piercing my ears. It wasn’t until the small fragile baby appeared that I decided to quickly follow Rosalie to help clean her up.
I stared over Roses shoulder at the gorgeous baby girl that lay in her arms. “This is just wild” I said, my breath taken away by her beauty. Rose smiled brightly up at me, “Your sister was right.” I frowned slightly, realizing I left the room not knowing Bella’s state. “Do you think she’ll be okay?” I whispered. She nodded knowingly. “She’ll be just fine,” she said as she admired the baby.
We both jumped suddenly as loud growls were heard. Before I knew it Rose had shoved the baby in my arms and took off to the action. Shaking I held the baby close as I approached the window, seeing the fight go down. I watched him the entire time. It wasn’t long until I heard a thud behind me, did I turn around to see Jacob on his knees. My eyes went wide with shock as I realized what just happened, and what he had planned to do.
~
“It’s their most absolute law,” Edward stated aloud as the wolves backed away slowly into the forest. I was out on the balcony now, the baby in my grip as I just watched Jacob confess his imprint. I noticed Paul hesitating to retreat, a small whimper as he looked above at me. My eyes watered as I forced myself to go back inside. I sat down in a chair as tears fell. Does he even think I’m coming back? What if he doesn’t want me anymore, all this stress being too much for him? I was so entranced in thought that I didn’t hear Edward step into the room. I jumped slightly when he stood in front of me, arms out to his child. I carefully placed her in them, quickly wiping my tears.
We stood for a moment in silence, until he spoke.
“Paul has not stopped loving you, Y/N.” I glanced up at him. Half irritated that he got to pick my brain whenever he pleases, but curious to know more.
“He’s growing weaker by the day. His thoughts are quite dark.” He added.
I shook my head, still conflicted.
“I chose to be by my sisters side,” I said looking down.
“And we are all very grateful for that,” He said sincerely.
“....but when she wakes, I worry how she’ll handle herself around a human. Family or not....Go to him, Y/N. You are always welcome here.”
I nodded, standing up and taking a deep breath. In all the craziness I seemed to forget the next time I see my sister she’ll be stone cold.
“Just tell me when it’s okay to come back. Please.” He smiled and promised, as I walked out the door.
I glanced at the time in my car, it was almost midnight. I tapped my fingers anxiously against the wheel.
Do I go over there now? I won’t be able to sleep if I don’t. Would they think it’s rude? Theyre definitely not asleep after a night like this.
Against my better judgement I turned the car, headed for Emily’s.
Facing the door I took a deep breath, attempting to muster up the courage to knock. To knock on the door that I used to just swing open effortlessly. But tonight I wasn’t so sure of how welcome I was. My fist collided with the wood as I braced myself for the worst reaction.
Within seconds I was met with Emily who gasped, immediately engulfing me in a hug.
“Oh Y/N. He’s a mess without you.” She softly whispered in my ear as I felt my heart sting. She pulled away and allowed me to step inside, the boys all gathered in various places of the house. They were rowdy as ever, and to my shock all greeting with a chorus of “hellos” and “where the hell have you been”s. I chatted with them for a moment, Jared informing me that they all agreed on no more hostility due to Jake’s imprint. Whether they liked it or not, it wasn’t their place to be bitter. I was relieved at this, thinking that if the other boys were forgiving then Paul might hold the same standard.
I started to pan the room realizing that he wasn’t in sight, when I felt an elbow in my side.
“He’s upstairs...man’s been a fucking wreck since the second you drove away,” Quil spoke softly. I thanked him and excused myself to the stairs. I felt the room grow quiet, eyes on my back as I went.
I reached for the door handle when anxiety overcame me. My eyes welled with tears as I remember how we left eachother. I wasn’t sure the first thing to say, or if he’d even want to listen. What if he didn’t want to listen? What if that was it? He saw that as the end of our relationship?
My breath hitched in my throat as the door abruptly opened.
“Were you going to come in?” A broken voice spoke as I took in his state. Quil was right. He was a wreck.
On an instinct that I couldn’t describe I leaped in his arms. Tears streamed down my face as I muttered apologies into his neck. He was quick to return the gesture, strong arms wrapping around my torso, bringing up one hand to hold my head in place. I could feel him breathe in my scent as he buried his face in my hair.
“Shhh, shhh, baby girl don’t cry. I’m right here,” he cooed as I continued to sob. It wasn’t until I had seen his face that I realized the physical pain I was in to be away from him.
“Y-you don’t hate me?” I asked sheepishly as I pulled my head back just enough to look at his face.
“Never ever. I thought it was you who might not come back to me,” he confessed.
I crashed my lips with his, feeling heat rise up my body as our mouths moved in sync.
Not breaking his embrace he slowly lifted me with ease and walked me over to the bed laying us down.
He pulled the covers over us as I snuggled into his chest. “I missed your warmth,” I said as I let my eyes close.
“I missed everything about you,” he said as he stroked my hair.
We layed in silence for what seemed like an hour, absolutely content in eachothers presence.
“You were right. About being there for your sister. I just want to make sure you’re protected always. I’m sorry,” he suddenly spoke up.
“I’m sorry too. I should have answered your calls I just....I had to stay and I knew I would leave her to see you..” I said started to get worked up again. Paul must have noticed as he brought his hand to my cheek, making me look him in the eyes.
“Let’s just forget everything. You’re here with me now and that’s all that matters.” He kissed me on the forehead.
“Keep holding me like this and I won’t even leave this bed.” I said as he squeezed me tighter, both drifting off to sleep.

Darling - Demetri Volturi X Fem!Reader

I sighed of relief as I closed my laptop and looked out the window. I had just finished the final test of the semester and I was dying to explore the city. It didn’t help that my dorm room had the best view possible of Volterra, overlooking the beautiful landscape below. Ever since I arrived in Italy I was enthralled with the life here. It all seemed so simple. I honestly wouldn’t mind staying in a place like this forever.
I felt like such a cheesy tourist, backpack and map in hand as I walked the cobblestone paths. The brick buildings that surrounded me ascended so high up in the sky, all the greenery and flowers that aligned them were vibrant. Everyone seemed so happy, and the atomsphere was peaceful. It was hard to think that anyone could have a bad mood in a place as amazing as this. I spent most of the day walking through shops, stopping for coffee and some of the best food I’ve ever had in my life. Even though I was more than relaxed and content by myself, I noticed numerous couples as I walked by. They all seemed so infatuated with eachother, and I felt a small twang of jealousy on my heart. I couldn’t help but want to know the feeling of being in love in the middle of this breath taking city. I looked at the map some more, on the back had several events that took place in town. I ran my finger across all the museums, stopping on a castle tour. It sounded interesting and close enough to where I was at to start walking.
I was with a large group of people, and chuckled to myself as they all had the same backpacks, fanny packs, and maps. I guess I wasn’t as alone here as I thought. A pale woman met us to start the tour, and I couldn’t help but get an uneasy feeling at her demeanor. She had blood red eyes, a almost devilish smile. I looked at the others, all too captured in conversation to notice how off she looked. The tour was nothing special, the castle itself beautiful but the woman gave very vague information about it. I was getting bored and a little anxious. As I decided to cut this crap short, I retreated back only to be stopped by another large pale man who told me I had to stay. Now I was getting more nervous. The woman started to get excited as she walked us to two huge metal doors, opening them wide for us to see a large empty space. There, we were met with several more pale faces, who looked at us almost hungrily. These types of people were not the ones I passed on the streets. My skin started to crawl and my heart beat fast as I watched them approach. The one with long black hair took the first girl in line by the neck, and sunk his teeth deep in her as she screamed with terror.
Vampires.
I had read about them in school, even researched them. But we were told there were none that remained in the present day. This can’t be real.
I frantically searched for an exit as I started to run as fast as I could. Not even a second went by before I was thrown full force into the wall in front of me. Pain radiated through my left arm as I turned around on the floor, watching as two of them stepped towards me. I shakenly scooted back against the wall. I looked at both of them, the one on the right was the one who told me I couldn’t leave. Then I looked to the one on the left, when suddenly we locked eyes. As scared for my life as I was I couldn’t help but notice how incredibly attractive he was. This feeling I never had before washed over me for a minute. Like as if I wanted to be closer to him. “Well well, looks like we’re adding a new member,” the large one snarled looking at him. “You better take her before I do, she does look absolutely delectable...” Snapping out of my trance my eyes welled up with tears as I watched everyone on the tour start to fall to the floor in their own pool of blood. I was next. But before I could speak I was whisked at what felt like the speed of light to another room. It was the one I locked eyes with that closed the door behind us.
“Please p-please don’t kill me,” I said as I started to cry, still holding my arm.
He was inches in front of my face within an instant, cold hand on my cheek.
“Shhh, darling it’s alright. Trust me, okay? What’s your name doll?”
For reasons which I’ll never know his gentle words actually soothed me. I knew it was wrong but everything I was feeling was so.....pure.
“Y/N”
“Y/N” he repeated back in a whisper. “I’m Demetri.”
He softly held up my arm in his hands, I winced as he did.
“I’m so sorry about this love. I didn’t know you were my- I mean I’m so sorry.” He said as he glanced back up at me.
“You’re a vampire,” I said matter of factly. I figured if I was going to die here I wanted to know why and how.
He chuckled lowly, “You’re right....how much do you know about us?”
I swallowed the lump in my throat, “I, uh, learned about a type of vampire in school. You live forever, you’re cold, and you feel nothing.” He nodded slightly, “Well that’s half true...”
He slowly sat me down on the chair that was in the room, and started to explain everything to me. That humans didn’t know they still existed, and that there were some I have probably encountered already. He explained the Volturi, why they wanted him, and how they were essentially vampire royalty. It felt like we had been talking for hours. I watched the sun go down through the window. Part of me wanted to remember why I was here in the first place. To think of an escape. But my heart wanted to stay with Demetri, bare my soul to him. After he carefully explained what mates were, it all made sense. I thought about how wildly ridiculous it was that I lived my whole life without knowing this.
“So you do have feelings, then?” I questioned, as it was against what I had researched.
“In a sense, yes. Love, desire, anger, hurt, hunger..”
I started to feel uneasy again, realizing the events before we got in this room.
“Hunger. Like when that tall man said I looked delicious. You’ll feel good when you kill me.” I said getting upset and standing up.
His face got serious as he shook his head and reached for my hand.
“Darling I would never dream of killing you. I would....change you.” My eyes widened as I batted his hand off of mine.
“You’re fucking awful. I-I had this feeling for a second that you were different. That you weren’t like everyone else out there. God, how stupid of me. You don’t want to kill me, you just want me to turn to stone and live forever in misery!” I yelled. He looked as if he had been shot in the chest. His red eyes went almost soft as he stepped back, giving me space. He looked at the floor in shame.
“It’s not that I want to change you. It’s that if by a massive stroke of luck you wanted to stay here with me, rules say I have too. I’d risk my own life just to see you happy. It’s fast, sudden and overwhelming...I understand.” He looked to the ground.
I sighed, a million thoughts running through my head. This was just so crazy. I opened my mouth to speak when the door burst open, the one with long hair stood.
“Brother, why is your mate not changed?” He looked at Demetri intensely. Like if he said as much as one word wrong he would be punished.
He looked up at me with those soft eyes, as if deciding if I were worth it to tell the truth.
“She’s not-“
“He was just about too. He was just explaining things first.” I interrupted. The one with the long hair turned to me, a smile now across his face.
“How wonderful, a human that yearns for her mate so suddenly. Demetri I must say, you’re very lucky. Please hurry.” And with that, the door was shut.
I took a deep breath. I immediately felt cold hands on my cheeks.
“Love, you don’t have too...”
“I want too,” I confessed,
“I mean, let’s be honest I don’t particularly. And I might regret this....but I’ve never felt like this before. The thought of you dying I-“ tears welled up in my eyes. He pressed his lips against mine, my head started spinning. It was a kiss that I had only ever had in my dreams. It was desperate yet passionate. He pulled away, smiling at my face that was still in shock.
He carefully lowered me on the bed.
“Are you absolutely sure about this doll?” He whispered in my ear as he peppered kisses down my neck. As anxious as one might have felt, his presence made me calm.
“I’m sure.” I said as I held onto his hair. He buried his head in my neck, sinking his teeth in.
I felt white hot pain as I screamed as loud as my throat would let me. I could feel the venom run through my veins as everything went black.
