My first party in Seoul wasn't that I've expected:

In Vampire Bar, Hongdae, Seoul, South Korea.

Ahh the university life, so many homeworks and things to learn...

Every person who is (or was being) on the same situation as me knows the charge of making any university major or studying after school. But we also know about all of the experiences that we can adquire on this kind of environnements: some of them are really amaizing and some others not that much (even they can be very hard), situations who can leave a big mark on our lifes and even influence in our future decisions.

I had the chance to apply and get an student exchange between my university and one in the city of Seoul, in South Korea and after just one week of staying, I've went with friends from other countries who where on the same situation as me: Trying to be adapted on korean lifestyle without speaking korean and looking for building the most amaizing experiences in one city, usually very different against our culture habits.

If is your first time reading one of my articles, you need to know that I'm originary from Colombia, more specifically from the capital city: Bogotá. I want to specify the fact that this country is really amaizing in so many senses. I'm emphasizing on this point because they're a lot of myths around colombian people that I need to explain related to our daily lifes (and the party where I was last friday):

1. Colombian (Latin) people are noisy: I can't just made a general affirmation because I don't know all persons from "latinoamérica" but, the people who are surounding me have very different kinds of personalities, so, the "Sofia Vergara" stuff is not like it's showed, just don't think we are all like this. (Even if I absolutely love parties and being noisy in this kind of spaces) 

2. The people originally form Colombia is very good at dancing: Well, actually it wasn't my first experience hanging out with foreigner people and through my own practices,I want to believe that almost of the colombian people knows good dancing in comparison to other foreigners. That's why we have a big variety of "tropical music" usually used on parties and traditional celebrations. By the way, music genders like: Champeta and the Vallenato, (both borned in this counrty) and the variety of music songs, push people to had to learn different kinds of moves. 

3. It’s easier to get a “latina girl”: Please don’t hahaha. I can make a long list of the times I’ve heard this affirmation from a foreigner person and I can assure you: it’s not that you think. Even on Friday I’ve heard this annoying allusion from someone who actually was quite drunk, but the fact is that you cant’t just believe on this kind of myths, because as women we need the same respect without being juged for our origins, behaviors or culture habits. Maybe the latin culture is more oppened than others on social terms and confidence habits (like hugging someone that we just meet for example) but, that doesn't means that the borncountry influences on the personality of a woman. (She's free of choosing how to be, but as individual we need to be respectfull with everyone)

Seoul city is quite big, but the transport like metro and buses are one of the best I've ever known, the value of one pass is on 1.800 Won if you haven't the transport card and on 1.200 Won if you buyed it before (the transport card amount is of almost 4.000 Won). So, the displacement from my dormitory to Hongdae, even if "Kakao maps" app was showing a nightmare tour, was excellent and quite fast actually. In most places, the wi-fi access is free and pretty good, so getting lost is quite imposible if you're using any map app, and don't worry, generally hanging out with the phone on hands is safely and usual in Seoul.

Generally, the people who're doing an exchange were on the same situation, so the friendships are easy to get (even if you feel shy, don't worry, everything is going to be ok). In just one week, we were a lot of guys, all coming from different places at world sharing the same wanting to spend a great night and learn more about Korean culture, and our own cultures. People from China, Taiwán, Russia, Germany, Vietnam, France, USA, Mexico, Peru, Switzerland, Poland, etc, all ready to pass a great moment full of music, some drinks and company.

A Colombian friend invited us to join a "latin party" on "Vampire Bar" located in Hongdae place, also known as "Hongik University Street" a living place all of the 24 hours at day, full of people, shop streets and colors. Like I said, "LATIN party" and even if I was expecting to discover how are the parties on Korea, I've found another traditional colombian party with colombian dj's (lucky me).

Vida sabor Café:

En Arte y Pasión Café Baristas, la Candelaria, Bogotá.

No hay mejor forma de construir un maravilloso recuerdo que de la mano de un buen café sabor a vida.

Todos los días, entre las 4 y las 6 de la tarde, mi rutina diaria pide a gritos un momento de paz, unos cuantos minutos en los que mi cabeza desea únicamente abrazar otro día de vida mientras que en algún rincón de una cocina, una tienda, una cafetería y en casos extremos: el fondo de una máquina, la tan esperada taza de café luce tan cautivadora como aquella primera vez en que la descubrí. 

¡Ay! Mi Colombia querida, que privilegio el mío de haber nacido entre tus brazos, qué hermoso el haber podido crecer con tu cultura cafetera, es gigante la suerte del poder saborear tus manos trabajadoras llenas de campo y esperanza. Su acogedor aroma amargo y a la vez dulce me conducen al estado ideal de la tarde mientras acercando la taza a mis labios empiezo a sentir aquel sabor tibio y tierno que al bajar lentamente por mi garganta, me llena de dulzura y alegría. 

No puedo evitar sentirme extremadamente halagada de estudiar en uno de los ejes culturales más importantes de Bogotá, definitivamente La Candelaria nunca dejará de sorprenderme y maravillarme con sus rincones llenos de magia. Aún siendo consciente que el desorden, olores desconocidos y una ligera sensación de adrenalina también adornan el sitio, no puedo dejar de sentir un gran cariño por recorrer sus museos, galerías e incontables tiendas de comida.

Ubicado en la Calle 16 # 7- 76, (cerca a la séptima peatonal y el museo del oro) este lugar acoge diariamente a múltiples estudiantes, trabajadores, transeúntes curiosos y turistas para contagiarlos con el aroma de sus creaciones, la mayoría a base de tan exquisito ingrediente que además, controla el envejecimiento, previene enfermedades degenerativas y favorece a la mente. 

Estrecha y acogedora, esta cafetería de dos pisos que cuenta además con una cubierta semi-exterior ha sido el escenario de conversaciones profundas, reuniones divertidas, risas extenuantes, momentos en familia e incluso, se trasformó en uno de los escenarios cuyas tazas de café fueron medicina para sanar una que otra herida del corazón; sin duda alguna es uno de mis lugares favoritos en la ciudad.

Sus precios varían entre los 3.000 y 15.000 pesos ($5.35 USD) dependiendo, y se pueden pedir desde productos nacionales hasta otros cafés importados, todos elaborados con la mayor delicadeza y arte posibles, dispuestos a alegrar por unos instantes a todos sus visitantes. Para elaboraciones como el capuchino y el mocaccino, son múltiples figuras las que se asoman queriendo adornar la taza. Vestidos en su traje negro, los artistas del café se disponen a hacer las más hermosas figuras (desde flores hasta conejitos) en frente de sus clientes, asegurando una vez más, la fantástica atención en el lugar.
