I came up with crack theory. And now I’ve thought about it. And now I feel like I might be onto something.

I think that Juniper and Balor might be time travelers. Juniper seems very into the time of the Witch Queens, and can translate the ancient tablets we find down in the mines. Balor it’s less dramatic, but a lot of the stuff on his wagon is stuff from out of season, which nobody knows how he’s getting his supply.

Valen also has some sus vibes and (very light) purple hair, but I dunno enough to say whether I think she’s also a time traveler.

I feel like Celine is very sweet but I just know in my heart of hearts that she reads the Mistrian equivalent of watt pad werewolf erotica or something. It’s just so funny to me to think about

I really hope there will be a poly option in the future. I just think at least some of the love candidates (is that the right word for them?) would enjoy having multiple partners. Plus, it could introduce some cool dynamics.

I also hope for a platonic/queer-platonic option. Like, I don't want to date some of the candidates, but I'd still love to just be able to give them a little smooch every now and then. Just being casual friends

Me too, absolutely. (And you could call them that, people mostly call them bachelors and bachelorettes <3)

The good news is, even if it doesn't happen in the base game, I know for certain that there will be mods that let you do that! I've seen mods for the game already and it's not even fully out 🫨

I have more thoughts on morally corrupt Baron Wiscar and Baroness Linnet.

I think they played Favorites. The favorite being Adeline. Like- they didn’t fully Hide it from Eiland but he excuses it as “Oh- Well she’s heir some it makes sense she’d need more of their attention…”

They could have also pushed her to overwork herself but she didn't notice because she likes doing paperwork, and told Eiland 'to go play archeologist' just so they wouldn't have to pay that much attention to him.

I don’t think the baron and baroness are 100% morally good people. Maybe it’s because everyone in Mistria in are shown to be for the most part Morally good, but I think I’d be interesting if they were to a certain level, corrupt.

Imagine the real reason they left for the capital was simply because they didn’t want to deal with the aftermath of the earthquake so they shoved all their responsibilities on their children and the townsfolk.

Imagine we meet them later on AFTER the towns 100% back together and they’re just subtly passive aggressive and vindictive.

Imagine Adeline and Eiland slowly getting more and more stressed and unhappy with them back.

I think it’d add more spice to the game.

I'm definitely curious to know why they're not around, and it would be cool to actually meet them at some point. More so if they turn out to be complex characters like that, it's a nice contrast to the overall positive vibes of the town.

To the other anon, I'm a March girly myself but I totally get you. As someone who often hates the ship everyone in the fandoms I'm in obsess over, consider blocking the "fom March" tag. Blocking accounts that post a lot of content of the ships I don't like sometimes lives me out of the occasional post I would actually like. Stay safe out there ❤️

Hayden's design frustrates me bcs it just makes me wish that any of the bachelorettes were allowed to actually be fat. I love the designs in this game but why is the body diversity exclusive to the bachelors? Reina is a bit thicker than the others but still in a very conventional way and not that much tbh. And I know it's standard affair in all media but I will always complain about the women having no body hair - why can't artists ever seem to include it? Wouldnt it be nice to show that in media? But no - Hayden gets to be fat and have actual body hair while the bachelorettes are all skinny and hairless I guess 😒

I've seen other people complain about the same thing, but even saying that none of the bachelors have diverse body types, including Hayden.

I agree on the bachelorettes part. Knowing there are characters that have yet to be introduced, I hope that at least some of them will change that (ever the optimist).

I am trying so hard not to end up hating March because of how popular he is. I cannot stand 'rude closed-off men who secretly have a heart of gold if you work for it' characters and so he's easily the least appealing romance option for me. Which is fine, not every character has to appeal to me.

BUT he is everywhere in the fandom and it's a little maddening. It feels like everyone is going for March and hyping him up and I wish the other singles got half as much focus. This game has phenomenal character writing but so many discussions about it focus on March and ignore other characters - I've barely seen any love for the bachelorettes which genuinely disappoints me.

Its just hard being in a fandom obsessed with the single character you dislike which seems to always happen to me. I'm not trying to change other people's opinions, I just wanted to vent ❤️

Your feelings are valid anon. The best you can do is try to carve out your own peace by maybe blocking people who post about him and following people who talk about the other characters.

Just as there are people who love him, I'm sure there are others that feel like you!

tbh, i feel a little frustrated when people compare FoM to stardew valley because… they’re not that similar, at all. FoM reminds me way more of rune factory, or OG harvest moon. i get that stardew was a lot of people’s first farming sim, and for a lot of people it is The Magnum Opus of farming sims. but i feel like FoM has SO much more life than stardew. the dialogue doesn’t feel hollow, the town feels more vibrant, everyone is really nice to you, sure, but they still have distinct personalities on their own. i just wish people would let FoM shine without comparing it to stardew, ahahaha.

Yeah, I guess SV became so big that people forgot it wasn't even the first of its kind, nor the only type of farming rpg.

The comparisons are inevitable, sadly, but I agree with you anon.

i wish that the npcs in FOM had more diverse relationships to the character? Not that every aspect of the game NEEDS to be compared to Stardew, but in that game, there are several people who take a long time to warm up to you OR actively dislike you (Shane is rude, Sebastian is standoffish, Linus tells you he doesn't need any friends) and most people give you very blah dialogue until you get a higher heart level (Harvey comes to mind). In FOM, only March and mayyyyybe Juniper don't like the PC off the bat, and everyone else is SUPER nice. which just doesn't make the friendship level feel earned, and doesn't draw attention to the characters that are super nice as a matter of personality (Eiland, Hayden, Celine).

I already kinda gave my opinion on this past confession so I won't type it again but you're seen and heard, anon!

I confess that I'm actually scared for the marriage update because how am I gonna choose between my faves???? Cries. What do you MEAN I can't marry half the town????? I'm hoping that because of it being newer and having the pronoun options and stuff that'll mean we *might* be able to at least marry two options potentially? Otherwise I'm gonna have to find a poly mod but I'd really rather it just be in the base game.

At first, I downloaded the game because I heard the fishing mechanic was more like Animal Crossing than Stardew Valley, and I was never the best at fishing in SV. I don't regret downloading Fields of Misteria.

I really hope that FOM doesn't follow the trend of other early access games where they abandon their original vision for the game to instead give into popular demand. I've seen so many people talk about how they plan to use the feedback reporting to ask for certain characters (Olric mostly) to be romanceable or to make a story change. I love this game so far and I want to see the game that the creators are making! Not what the loudest voices in the fandom think it should be

Seeing how much love this game seems to have been made with, I doubt they'd sacrifice their vision for the public's demands. If anything, future changes will probably have already been planned, but they wanted to see what people thought first before implementing them. Or, at least, that's my optimistic view of it.

I am so incredibly embarrassed to confess that first time I met Valen I thought she was a man and continued to think as such until someone used the proper pronouns in a dialogue and I felt SO BAD I apologized to this fictional character in my head like 50 times.

You're not the only one! I misgendered her by accident too, and I've seen streamers make the same mistake.

Don't feel too bad, you corrected yourself and started treating her correctly when you realized :)

i really want more pride accessories. I'm not that much of a fan of the bucket hat and the bow (I agree with the fellow who said the head acc are 2 pixels too high) and I really want there to be like a shirt or a scarf or something
