Right after discovering in detention that they had common interests, both of them would still aggravate each other, but it wouldn't escalate on the same level as before. One example would be that Rachel would slip really silly caricatures of Rey into his locker for him to find later; specifically making fun about his ever changing hair colour. With an emphasis on "Mr. Look-At-Me, Look-At-Me!!", but as time passed, they would become much funnier and affectionate and Rey stopped being annoyed by them and just start to look forward to the newest monstrosity. They'd discuss those sketches later at lunch.

I have the feeling those two tended to dawdle a lot back in High School. Either on the way to school, on the way back home or while skipping it all together. One time it wasn't on purpose, tho - Rey found something he thought would be a cool shortcut, but they took the wrong turn and got totally lost in the woods somewhere and to this day, still don't know how xD

They surely committed fully to the DIY-culture in the punk and metalhead subculture and made all sorts of buttons, patches and pins together and for each other. Both still wear at least one or two of those things and they noticed right away when Rey returned.

"Ie, an' the sky is blue." He snorted out a laugh, eyes flicking up to briefly regard the other before returning his attention to the sandwich gripped in his right hand. The white pieces of bread had soaked up some of the blood covered on his fingers and palm, but it added flavour to the otherwise bland cheese wedged between them. It was all he had left in the fridge. The swivel stool Reynardine sat on squeaked as he continuously made quarter turns, staring off into space whilst slowly chewing on the pathetic excuse of lunch. But he needed a break. All of his energy had gone into breaking down the body stored downstairs, separating any viable meat to freeze and pack away inside his large freezer. They were meticulously placed inside Ziploc bags and labelled with black Sharpie, detailing his meal plan for part of the week; thigh (Mon), hart (Tu), tong/cheek (Wed). He could have cooked some of it off today, but by the time he organised and mopped the floor, his motivation waned and he settled for an easy option.

"'m not goin' anywhere," he added, sounding somewhat defensive about his messy appearance and the lack of self-care. His pale skin was stained with dark maroon, the blood having dried already. And the baby blue shirt printed with the words 'I'm not short, I'm fun-sized!' was spattered, some of it smeared near the stomach from where he'd leaned over or pressed against a counter. It continued down to the black jeans he wore, but the substance was barely visible against the colour. Usually he covered himself up from head to toe, but the evening had dragged on for long enough after killing them. His mind ran a million miles per minute and it was only a matter of time before his concentration drifted. The red numbers blinking on the oven timer told him that it was almost 1am. "Am I?" A pause, blunt fingernails picking apart the crust that was leftover before smushing it against the cracked plate. His attention finally settled on them - acknowledging their existence in his kitchen -, staring blankly for a while before screwing up his face in confusion. "Wha' are you doin' here?"

How he hadn't dropped everything yet was a mystery, but he certainly spoke too soon as he watched the candy canes starting to slide. He immediately grabbed them before disaster happened, carefully tucking the box under his arm. "Here, let me take half before you drop everythin'." Taking some of the packages from the teetering tower, he stacked the candy canes safely on top of his own mini one and started following the other. It appeared as though Carlos had a productive shopping trip, wise enough to buy stuff early before the chaos of Christmas began. "Where's all this goin', boss?"
