Just realized Din’s probably gonna get spammed with messages from his friends on Tattooine like
Peli: do u have an older brother? He just stormed in and took over the place
Cobb: UMMM MANDO I THINK THE GUY WHO ORIGINALLY OWNED THE ARMOR I WAS WEARING IS IN TOWN. MADE EYE CONTACT W HIM AT THE FARMER’S MARKET AND I THINK HE WANTS TO KILL ME. HELP PLS.
Peli: at least he got rid of the sleemo in charge and freed those poor girls. Seems decent. U trust him?
Cobb: LEGIT SCARED HOW BAD DOES HE WANT ME DEAD
Peli: but yeesh, i thought YOU were a grouch. I can definitely see the relation.
Cobb: NEW PAINT JOB LOOKS GREAT THO. TEXT ME BACK SOON.

I used to live in a town with a population of 12.
...
12.
I have a lot of pet peeves but I think the biggest one is when people say things like “oh it’s such a small town, only 35,000 people” like bitch my town has 200 people, you need to pick a new adjective

In Mandalorian culture, painting your armor green symbolizes that you’re driven by duty. Boba definitely repainted his armor to show Din that he’s truly dedicated to helping him save his son.

And I think it's worth mentioning the fact that in the first season, it's obvious Din isn't comfortable enough around people to have conversations with them. He only talks when he has too.
But when he finds Grogu, and the longer they're together, the more comfortable Din becomes around him. It's a great way to show how he's grown attached to Grogu without him ever having to actually say it. (I know people wanted him to call Grogu "my son" but honestly that would be so redundant because... well, we've already been SHOWN that. We don't need it told, and Din doesn't feel the need to SAY it since his actions already say it for him. And those actions are the fact that he is now talking to him when the situation doesnt call for it) I feel like the "actions speak" of Season 1 suited it REALLY REALLY well and I'm so glad to see a show that does it, but at the same time I feel like it's necessary for Din's character arc to show that he can talk, but only with and to someone he genuinely cares about. We the audience have nothing to do with it. We are in part still being shown and not told. We're being shown through Din's little conversations with Grogu that he cares for him enough to talk to him.
Someone mentioned that what they loved about the first half of The Mandalorian was that the 'show, don't tell' rule works perfectly, because Din isn't a talkative person, and we learn about his feelings trough body language only. I agree with this part, the show perfectly executes this rule.
Then the statement continues, claiming that once Din gets to spend more time with the baby, this rule is ignored, because Din becomes more talkative, ruining the feeling of the first half of the season.
I get what they mean, yet I don't agree entirely. Yes, Din suddenly starts explaining where they are going, what they are going to do, etc., and at first it may feel like this completely shatters the 'show, don't tell' rule, but let's not forget that he isn't alone anymore and he isn't with adults, he's with a child. A toddler. How do you handle/raise/educate/etc. a toddler? You talk to them. A lot. You talk to them, show them stuff, involve them in what you do.
Let's revisit the arrival on Tython and the seeing stone. Din keeps talking to Grogu, even asking him questions. Yes, his speech can be viewed as a ‘tour guide’ that is adressed to the audience, but can you really imagine this scene without a single dialogue? I can’t. Yes, I agree that with the 'show, don't tell’ rule you can easily explain what's going on, to us, the audience, and Din didn’t have to utter the “I guess you sit right here” line when he place Grogu on the stone, because it was fairly obvious from the second they arrived. This single line’s purpose isn’t to let the audience know what happens, it showcases Din’s lack of knowledge on the Jedi world, and him talking to Grogu creates a connection between the two of them.
A opposed to this, the third episode lacks dialogue, it really lies heavily on the ‘show, don’t tell’ rule. The scene when Din powers down his ship after he discoveres the ball doesn’t use dialogue, because this time whatever Din said would only serve only as a ‘guide’ to the audience. Yes, he could utter a few words like “I messed up”, or something, but it’s not necessary at all, because every tiny action screams this message.

Din not knowing shit about fuck is probably the smartest writing choice in the whole show. Not only is it an endearing character trait but also rly helpful for casual viewers casue its okay if you dont know what the fuck a bo katan is ,din doesnt know either 🤷
