It was such a Doctor-like answer- 'Because it's cool.'- that it automatically wrought a reaction from the blonde. The corners of chapped lips tilting up in a small smile, she had to bite the lower in attempts to keep it from growing, keep a full fledged grin from dancing upon her visage. A new Doctor. New face, new voice, new height, even a new fashion statement; gone was leather, gone was pinstripes, it was the era of bow ties now it seemed and the blonde had to focus on that to keep from falling into old routines as easily as slipping on a familiar jumper. He wasn't her Doctor anymore- well, that was debatable, he would always be her Doctor no matter the face he wore in her opinion- and she wasn't his companion and she couldn't just make assumptions, go back to the old ways because there would always be an end, two bends in the river but it was hard, so very hard when such things passed through his lips, things she hadn't heard in such a long time it very well near brought tears to honey eyes. It seemed some things never changed with him.
"A clock room has nothin' t'do with being a Time Lord, though maybe you should wear a few watches. For a 'Lord'a Time', you've made a few mistakes on timing, haven't you?" A meaningful glance was sent the aliens way, so many instances filling up Rose's mind from twelve hours turning into twelve months to 1860 Napes becoming 1869 Cardiff and, of course, missing Elvis in New York to get her face stolen the day before the Coronation of the Queen. Sure the TARDIS was built for six people, that had nothing to do with said mistakes. Looked like someone needed to go back to school. Or at least re-read the manual, if he had ever read it in the first place that is.

"Time Turner though, reminds me of Harry Potter." She turned on her heel at that, one hand up, index finger pointing at the ceiling before the angle changed to point at the Doctor. "Did you know they don't have Harry Potter in Pete's world? J.K. Rowling's like a...waitress or somethin'. Thought you might appreciate that little tidbit. John didn't but..." The blonde trailed off, loosing herself in her thoughts, her memories before turning around once more, not wanting to continue on that particular topic, all that it wrought within her.
"Smell'n look like a Time Lord?" That caused dark brows to lift in a mixture of confusion and appreciation. "Right..." Rose drew out the singular word, pulling out, elongating the single syllable before giving a nod of her head. "Well, when you figure it out, tell me, yeah? Maybe you could bottle it or somethin', imagine all th'good it could do with Jack's Twisted Giants runnin' 'round out there tryin' to eat people. S'like a Poe retelling out there." A shake of a fair head, lips pulling down and out at the corners in an exaggerated grimace at the mere thought.
"S'only a matter of time, I bet. The gun when you wore leather, you pro'bly pointed dangerous things at me all the time when you had pinstipes..." As she spoke, Rose ticked off her words on her fingers absently though, in all honesty, it was better when the things were in the Doctors hands rather than enemies- less probability of her getting fired upon, or so she had liked to believe. "Cybermen, though?" That wasn't a pleasant thought, the tin men being right up there with Daleks now on her list of 'Things that were supposed to be gone but apparently were not.'

"I thought they went into th'void..." Her brows drew together and her face grew worried, saddened. After all they had caused, all they had done...they had still been out there? Was everything been for nothing then? The attempts to save the world from invaders but the invaders had stayed, part of her couldn't help but feel a bit bitter; she herself had been sucked away, sent away twice but still they survived despite their best efforts, her very real brush with death, another moment or two and she wouldn't have survived anywhere. Of course, there were several things she wasn't exactly fond of but Cybermen, Daleks...the very top of the list, like cockroaches, they were. You think you're rid of them but there they still were.
"They're gone now though, right?" Her voice was small, face downcast, back towards him but no, no that wasn't right and she cleared her throat of a nonexistent blockage as if to implant the idea that that was why her words had come out in such a way and once again she was facing him. "The Cybermen, I mean." Rose wanted to inquire about the Daleks as well but that was a question that did not flow from her lips, was hopefully kept from her face. So many years apart, him and her, no her wouldn't be able to read her as well as he used to once upon a time.
Light eyes caught sight of the bird as it flew in, following the toy planes and the woman fell silent, remained silent for moments passed, hands finding the pockets of her windcheater- no longer new, instead it was worn, the purple shade fading and luster decaying. It would be so easy to buy a new one but she had been through so much with this one, from jumps years ago to travels to a little pink plus, the blonde just couldn't bring herself to disregard it, something that was as much her as anything else. She had gone from pink and yellow to pink and yellow and purple, with a little black and blue for good measure.
"Did you make...Polly...?" She questioned, lips pressed tight against the urge to ask if Polly wanted a cracker but there was another inquiry pushing at her mind, the seal of her mouth as she found herself stepping closer, closer, closer still to stand next to the Doctor and his laptop- he really had changed, hadn't he? One time, there was only one time that came to mind when searching her memory banks on 'Doctor' and 'Computer', the whole Torchwood thing not quite counting seeing as how it was a video chat and not him actually using it. Of course there might have been other times she hadn't been privy too, she might have lived with him on that blue ship but they weren't together all the time on their adventures- hell, it seemed like they were separated the vast majority of the time.

"Who's 'River', then?" Rose continued, a curious light in her eyes as her attention switched back and forth between the Time Lord and the laptop, head tilting slightly and fair hair partially obscuring her visage. It had grown out since the last time they had met, longer still then when they had first met, another thing to add to the lines around her eyes, eternal callouses on her palms, frame thinner yet, all things bought in exchange for that very first run. "Donna not enough for you, you had to bring on another person on a first class trip 'round the stars?" The question had a teasing lilt to it before a thought hit her and she turned on her heels, amber hues searching the area.
"She here, Donna?" As if it would help, she lifted up on the toes of her boots, looking for that familiar shade of hair. True she hadn't interacted with the woman all that much, the longest one resulting in the older redheads 'death' but Donna had been nothing but warm and friendly to the blonde and after hearing all the stories she was more than anxious to meet her once again.

A smile danced upon her lips, friendly and warm at his words. "Guess you can say that." No, there was no guessing involved, such a thing was obvious- was it not? With everything going on, her rush to find her ship and return home to a family that was no doubt looking for it's missing family member, afraid that they would wind up within one less person to call their own...was it so bad? Her desire, her need to return home to say that not another of their already small number had been lost to fate if it meant interactions like this? Being here for who knew how long at yet having met only a handful of people at best? It could be worse...right?

"I know the feeling." The line came complete with a sigh, barely audible, barely noticeable but there all the same. "Where are you from?" The question pushed past lips before the woman even realized but she was curious all the same. No accent, no elongation, shortening of vowels, of sounds in the males speech, nothing that she had grown so accustomed to in all her years. Hell, even aliens had British accents, or maybe that was simply courtesy of the TARDIS messing around in her brain, a by product of being made to understand all the languages being spoken around her.

"Nice t’ meet ya too, Rose!" He noticed that she had an accent in her voice, but he couldn’t place that accent. However, this really didn’t surprise him; lately, he had been meeting tons of people that weren’t from his same world. It was nice to be meeting such interesting, and different people; Zack had always been a people person. His arms folded in front of his chest, and he chuckled a bit. "Guess we’ve both been busy with other things to really notice." Another chuckle passed his lips, and he scratched the back of his head. "Yeah, I’ve been doin’ some exploring, and trying to get the lay of this place. Kinda different than what I’m used to."

No wall...dark brows came together lightly at the words and the woman nodded slowly, ever so slowly; a barely decipherable change as if she was forcing herself to do so, to understand. Of course, the notion of a wall itself wasn't strange, rather it was the fact that the male so expected there be one that stumped the blonde. There were so many places that were walled, which one did he come from? "'Course there's no wall." A simple reply, accent flowing smoothly around the words. "Well..." A pause. There was a wall, they were in a 'box', weren't they? Boxes had walls but somehow the blonde doubted that was what was meant.

"Hardly," no he wasn’t expecting a hovel… He just wasn’t expecting ay place to be fine outside… or at least not this well off without protection. "There’s no wall," he explained a wary glance cast on the surroundings. Either titans didn’t haunt this place, or they had found a way to keep them at bay. Either way he was finding himself more and more intrigued by this place.

Rose wasn't quite sure what it was she was expecting to come out from the doors of the clock tower she had been led to in their escape, but it was not a myriad of toys. Toys of all things, two figures of the Queen and Nixon and helicopters though, really, she shouldn't be so surprised given who it was who called them all out. An army, the Doctor had an army at his beck and call, his disposable battalions...the blonde didn't know whether to leave them to their assignment or sit down and play with the figurines. Yes, if what she had already witness hadn't announced how glaringly different this face was to the others she had known, this would do it.
She couldn't picture either faces- leather jacket or pinstripes utilizing toys like this. Whether that was a good thing or not, though, the woman had yet to figure out but as she watched the hundreds of toy planes launch themselves at the giant like a scene out of a movie she couldn't help but be at least semi-entertained. Really though, it was brilliant. The thing would eat the two figures, one human and the other a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey, and be done with it. If it ate any of the toys, there would be more to take their place.
But now wasn't time to be admiring the sights as both Rose and the Doctor were doing and, remembering herself the woman darted forward towards him. Generally when a lot of things attracted a giant in both cinema and real life the giant tended to stomp around, or fall with a crash to the ground and she didn't want to be open ranged. He may have the ability to regenerate but the former companion did not and she wasn't so keen on giving up her life right now, thank you very much.
Hand securing around the Time Lords wrist, Rose towed him behind her as she ran to the still open doors of the clock tower, spinning around to push him from the back so that she could make sure the doors were shut securely behind the pair. The giant was, well giant. A closed door wouldn't do much against it if the intention was to get in but it would add a little sense of security for the blonde and right now, that was what mattered.
"Y'know...I'm not even gonna ask why you have so many toys on you." A simple statement spoken blithely, a hint of a smile that had no right to be there tugging at the corners of her lips before it was tamped down and she spun away from the doors. A move to step forward before she jolted herself to a stop in a motion that reminded her of that day all those years ago. "Hello Mister. MaGoo..." The words are breather out as honey eyes take in all that was around her. Clocks everywhere, ticking in unison yet without a sound, a toy train winding around and- were those planets?

"Th'Time Lord has a clock...room?" Rose questioned, more to herself than to the Doctor, an incredulous smile on her lips before she shook herself out of it and started moving once more. Yet another thing she didn't have time for. "In response to your earlier statement; don't give me grief 'bout the gun. I know you don't like them, n'neither do I, y'know." A brief glance towards the male as she moved about, eyes searching, searching, searching for something, anything that could be used to protect herself and the Time Lord.
"You know full well they can come in handy- look at the Devil." Another glance, this one pointed. "After I nearly died for the fifth time during my jumps, it became mandatory for me to have one at all times- which came in handy when I crossed the void'n found you, y'know. Killed a Dalek an' everything. Didn't have a problem with it then, did you?" Hands found a stool and she lifted it up, jutting at it like she was fighting a lion.
"Think this'll work against that thing?" Honey eyes returned to the Doctor for a brief moment before she set it back down. No, no it would probably splinter before it became of any use. "Besides, you've used guns yourself. I remember you pointin' one at me, once upon a time." Granted the thing that was intended to be in the cross-hairs wasn't her but the Dalek behind her but still. She had been in the direct line of fire that day in the underground bunker, half sure for the second time during that trip that she was moments away from death.

Her words hit a break as her eyes landed on a shape that was all together familiar yet foreign in their time apart and Rose wondered how it had not been the first thing she had noticed upon entering the tower.
"Y'know...you could've just told me that the TARDIS was here."

The thing was throwing up, upchucking, barfing, emptying the contents of it's stomach- really, whichever you would prefer. They all meant the same and they all elicited the same response from the woman; corners of her lips pulling down, a hand coming up to cover her mouth as she struggled not to join in. She had been places, seen things. All of space and time at her fingertips and all that it contained but having a giant, naked humanoid was not something one simply observed impassively.
As to why it was throwing up, Rose wasn't sure. Had that meant she had actually managed to hit something? Had she potentially managed to save the life of the madman who seemed to have a death wish and yes, right on time, there he was sliding free and oh the smell. Whoever thought vomit from a regular creature smelled foul had obviously not been very well near the splash zone of a creature that was well over a hundred feet tall or at least seemed so from her lower perspective.

"That's...disgusting..." The blonde muttered, skirting backwards as a chunk of unidentified...stuff...landed too close for comfort as her attention focused on the bloke covered in more. Needless to say, she did not envy the trip he had just endured. When she was younger she had used to entertain the thought of what it would be like to be eaten, had enjoyed the exhibit at the museum that let you experience it first hand in a larger than life model more times than Jackie would have preferred- however she had never thought about what it would take to escape the body. Now she knew.
Hand still covering her mouth, her nose, Rose prepared to give a muffled response to words that didn't make sense coming from a strangers mouth when he spoke once more. There it was again, her name followed by a title few people at home knew about, one that had not passed her lips once since arriving in this strange new world against her will. But...how...?
Dark brows drew close as honey eyes widened before narrowing and she peered at the male covered in naked humanoid puke, turning on her heel to watch as he darted past her after saying a word that, while it would seem so simple to most everyone else, signaled so much for her. A beat and then-- Oh you've got to be kidding.

At once she was off like a shot, surprised induced stupor thawing and her feet working hard to take her away from heaving creature behind her that would probably want to continue on it's quest to devour morals that would be better as toothpicks seeing the save difference and closer to the running man ahead. Rose hadn't expected to see the Doctor again. Not again, not ever. Not after their last goodbye. There hadn't been a need to try and see him again after her second trip to the cold beach in Norway, perhaps a want or two in regent months but not enough to try it all over again. Never enough, not again. But there he was all the same.
"You know...m'pro'bly never gonna forget this." The woman huffed out once she had caught up. Regular exercise just didn't match when you were running for your life though all the same Rose loved it though now she was pounding the pavement empty handed in more ways than one. "N'I'm pro'bly gonna make sure you remember this for however long we're both still here."
The proper time to be talking? Probably not, but it was better than running in silence with the alien she had once pledged her forever to. They had both changed even further since their last encounter, he more so than her if his new face was any indication. He seemed even younger too, a fact Rose wasn't quite sure if she appreciated or not, what with her own advancing age. Not quite fair, but perhaps that was the woman within her. "Thought you were mad before...Leather'n Pinstripes had nothing on this you."
All at once a thought hit her and her attention returned to the gangly Time Lord. "Are we running towards anything in particular or are you just...wingin' it?" Either way, the woman figured that she would like to be in the know this time. She had been beyond startled when the Doctor dropped himself straight into the humanoid's gaping mouth- something she definitely would have liked to have a heads up on just for sheer surprise factor- but then again, had he ever been good at divulging his plans ahead of time? No, chances were he never announced them in her memories because he never had plans, just...winged it all the time.
It really was a miracle he hadn't run out of regenerations yet, wasn't it?

Another corner turned and Rose found out that not only did she not have any clue as to where they were running to, she wasn't sure where they were. Perhaps she should have done more to map out her new home rather than simply searching for the one thing that had continued to elude her since she had found herself in the middle of a dark, cobblestone road- if it was even there somewhere to begin with. "Really though, do you have a plan? 'Cause I kinda threw my gun at that...thing so please don't go jumping into mouths again, I won't be able to save you any more times."
