So the whole thing is a sickfic and about her relationship with Dick, so that's the general premise but the real meat of the story is just exploring Steph's super super righteous anger at the shitty hand all these powerful men dealt her.

Plot point here is that even though she is sick and people like Cass and Tim and her mom love her very much, she can't depend on them for any kind of easy support.

She is so loved and so resilient and always always doing the translating work and meeting people where they're at and sometimes, that gets tiring. This is a sentiment very intimately understood and mirrored by Dick. So, since Steph is all grown up now she gets to put her foot down and tell him that she won't meet him an inch over halfway.

And once again, she manages to inspire yet another bat.

So, the premise is super simple where it's a Stephanie Brown sickfic except Babs is out of town so Dick tries to snoop in and save the day, which uhhhhh Does Not Go Well

It's kind of canon compliant but in a reality where it really was explored how close Damian, Dick, and Stephanie should have been imo. This particular fic is set way, way, wayyyy after the Spyral incident and Dick is fully integrated with everyone as Nightwing but him and Steph don't really talk anymore.

It's about her grief being overlooked, and just her being overlooked in general (vigilante wise and personally). Plus all my thoughts on the Dick-Steph relationship which should really really exist!!!!!

Also Stephanie gets helped and apologized to and adored, because I love her and also was a little bit projecting
