For nearly a decade, Ukraine has risen to feature as a popular higher study destination on the travel map for Indian students. The trend is likely to get more steam as the education system in Ukraine is going through a series of reforms.
Although Ukraine invites foreign students to join its medical, technology, and aviation courses, Indian students mostly opt for the undergraduate degree course in medicine, which is equivalent to MBBS in India.
Historically, Ukraine is known to be a center for medical studies in Europe. Of the 800 something universities, many are centuries old. Ukraine is a large country, and the universities spread across its length and breadth differ in terms of facilities, standard, accreditation, culture, cost, etc.
So, the selection of the right university, which is the very first step in the entire process of study in Ukraine, requires you to consider these factors, as listed below.
Accreditation & Recognition: What level of accreditation by the Ukraine government is currently possessed by the university. If the university and your target course have the recognition from the world bodies such WHO, UNESCO and also from the medical councils of the leading countries, such as MCI from India.
Is NEET required for MBBS in Ukraine: Qualifying NEET has become compulsory whether you study MBBS in India or abroad (and intend to practise in India). Students with a NEET score find admission easy in an Ukrainian university.
Course fee and other costs: The below table provides the cost structures for the top 10 medical universities in Ukraine that are also approved by MCI.
The annual course fee includes tuition fee, hostel accommodation fee, medical insurance cost, MCI coaching cost for the complete duration of the course, transport cost from the airport to the university, one phone call to parents on arrival to the university, cost of study material in English language, cost of documentation of the student in the university, cost of translator to facilitate if required, and other services.
Whether it’s a Govt. Institution or private: Same as in India, the government medical colleges are preferred more than the private medical colleges in Ukraine. The MCI approved institutions are among the government universities.
Whether there are hostels: If the university offers hostel accommodation, inside the compound or outside, whether the girls’ hostel is separate from the boys’ hostel.
About the students of that university: How many Indian students are currently studying in that university, and how many have got the degree.
Climatic conditions: You can expect a temperate continental climate in Ukraine with cold, snowy winters and warm summers. Temperature may swing from 0 degree celsius during winter to 25 degree celsius in summer.
Is health insurance mandatory: Without a proper health insurance you will not be allowed to register as a student in an Ukraine university. Reposted from: europeaneducationconsultancy.com

The history of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) is one of the extraordinary changes that happened in 1999 in the form of the Bologna Declaration. Following that, the next two decades of preparation for the EHEA saw dramatic changes in higher and secondary education degree systems, quality assurance, and internationalization.Ukraine became a full member of EHEA in 2005 and made several structural reforms in its education system since then to implement the Bologna principles for future generations. There are five key areas that were identified by the Govt. of Ukraine to carry out the reforms holistically and achieve transformative and sustainable developments in the higher education system of Ukraine. They are:
Autonomy of the Universities
Quality assurance of teaching & education (Quality of education)
Streamlining the admission process
Academic integrity
Development of new funding models for the universities
Support from the World Bank
The World Bank has come forward to support the Ukrainian government’s efforts to improve the country’s higher education system’s efficiency, quality, and transparency. The World Bank-funded project, “Ukraine Improving Higher Education for Results” will aim to improve the quality of higher education and its relevance to labour market needs, as well as promote learning resilience and continuity in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. The project will fund investments in higher educational institutions’ (HEIs) modernization of teaching and research facilities, as well as their digital learning infrastructure, in order to ensure learning continuity through remote learning modalities and to support long-term resilience and change management. It will also fund the building of advanced teaching and research laboratories, and learning support facilities, as well as the development of new digital infrastructure for remote learning in Ukrainian universities.Another goal of this project is to promote transparency in Ukraine’s education sector by modernising the Higher Education Management Information System and establishing a National Student Survey and a unified information system on competitive research funding for higher Ukrainian education institutions. The Ministry of Education and Science (MOES) of Ukraine will implement the Ukraine Improving Higher Education for Results Project during a five-year period. The MOES will be in charge of overall project coordination and implementation progress monitoring.
More reforms
Many other things can be mentioned in addition to the changes aimed at structural transformation of higher education, such as university mergers, active international cooperation (the main achievement here was joining the Horizon 2020 EU Program), and facilitating communication with students (primarily with the goal of promoting the idea of expanding their options regarding choice of higher education). All of these processes attempt to gradually revolutionise higher education by introducing new ideas and techniques, as well as producing new meanings and answers. Clearly, it would be preferable if these adjustments were more visible. However, because the assignment is so wide at first, no immediate results can be expected. I believe that rather than training for a sprint, everyone should prepare for a marathon in the modern societies.

Come September, getting admission to Ukrainian universities and student visas is going to be a lot easier for foreign students. With the launch of a new e-platform, the various steps relating to studying in Ukraine will be simplified and streamlined. The government of Ukraine has evaluated the present admission procedures that involve many departments, which are in silos. So, a digital transformation process is currently on to automate the individual departmental functions and integrate them together to form an unified, transparent, and automatic procedure for overseas students.Under the new system, the students will be required to upload all the relevant documents only once. The system will send all data to universities, the SBU, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service, removing the need to send the documents separately. If the application is considered, the “invitation to study” will be made available to the international student online by the country of origin. All the concerned departments will also check the invitation online. This will not only help the students keep track of the various stages themselves but will reduce the role of the intermediaries significantly.Over 76000 foreign students are currently studying in Ukraine, and a large number of them, nearly 18500 are Indian students.
Advantages of studying in Ukraine
For centuries Ukraine was well-known as a center for medical and engineering education and research, which was further bolstered when it entered the Bologna process in 2005 to join the European higher education system. This was accomplished through the implementation of the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), the three-cycle study system, the European Higher Education Area’s Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG), and the National Qualification Framework (NQF).Ukraine joined the highly competitive European higher education system, which is noted for its coherence, inclusion, and accessibility, as a result of these conformities and changes. The following are some of the major advantages of the European higher education system:
The students can move between the EHEA member countries easily due to any personal reasons or employment opportunity, etc. and continue with their studies without losing the academic year.
Every member country of the EHEA must ensure high quality education so that the international students, graduates, and other stakeholders can rest assured that the education they received is of the highest standard and recognized all over the world.
Bilateral student exchange programmes – Programs that allow exchange of students between a university in Ukraine with partner universities or institutions inside or outside the European Union.
Summer job training opportunities – Internship opportunities in foreign countries for local and international students.
Opportunities to participate in seminars – Students can participate in seminars/symposia/project works in the countries inside or outside the European Union.
Chances of obtaining citizenship in a foreign nation – A satisfying medical profession can be pursued in any country, with the added benefit of increased chances of settling in that country.
Apart from the above there are some other advantages of studying in Ukraine that attract a large number of international students. They are:
No admission exam is required – There is no need to take the entrance exam. Students must have completed a minimum of 10+2 with a minimum of 50% in the PCB combo. The maximum age for entrance is 24 years.
English medium instruction – This is especially helpful for the Indians and many other foreign students
Low fee structure – Fees are lower because there is no capitation fees, and most medical universities have a low cost of study thanks to the Ukraine government’s large subsidy.
Emphasize on practical classes – Internationally certified courses taught in English with a significant amount of practical experience

Obtaining a student visa for international students is considered to be the most important step in your preparation for studying in a foreign country, for it has to fulfill a number of criteria, failing anyone will result in rejection of your visa application for common reasons. If the destination country is Ukraine and you are an Indian student, you have a study visa success rate of 60% in the visa application process, as per the latest statistics. However, if your application is refused, you can appeal for visa refusal after correcting the cause for rejection, but that may be quite a waste of precious time from the academic year international students. Therefore, you should be careful enough to meet all requirements that warrant a long-term student visa (D type visa) delivered to you. Following are the reasons that account for the most rejections of student visas that you should be well aware of.
One of the most common causes for student visa refusal is a lack of appropriate funds for studies and everyday living expenses. The visa is likely to be rejected if the financial records supplied by students do not demonstrate their ability to handle their education and living expenses. Make sure to submit financial evidence of the up-to-date bank statement that shows an account balance of minimum of Rs. 3.5 L.
Candidates must have received the qualifying grades in previous years of study, particularly in the topics they intend to pursue further. If the proportion is too low, the student visa may be denied. For admission in medical degree courses in Ukraine which is equivalent to MBBS, the minimum qualifying marks in the PCB group is 50%.
Irrelevant subjects can also be a cause of rejection. The goal of advanced study is to get mastery of the subject in which the pursuer is interested in practical education. If you choose subjects that aren’t a match for your abilities, it will make your career goal unclear and might cause rejection of your visa application.
When applying for a student visa, candidates must submit all required documents with the visa application form. Academic transcripts, valid passport, financial support documents, identification proofs, and other documents are included. If any of the needed documents are missing, obtaining a student visa becomes more difficult. The Ukraine government however, provides students a set period of time to present the required papers in this situation. The Student Visa application will be rejected if the required documents are not submitted within the extended timeframe.
The information provided by the visa applicants on the application form must be genuine and full, and it must be backed up by genuine and verifiable documents. False claims and erroneous information will result in the student visa being denied.
After submitting an application for a student visa, each applicant is invited to an interview at the nearest consular office or the Ukraine embassy. The candidate will be asked a series of questions to which he or she must provide convincing answers to the interviewer. The reasons for choosing Ukraine for higher study, college and course, future ambitions, and financial assistance are just a few of the topics discussed during the interview. We recently covered Ukraine consular interview questions in detail in our recent blog.
Inadequate financial support:
Low Academic Scores:
Irrelevant subject
Incomplete Documents:
False information:
Unconvincing answering in the consular visa interview:
Apart from the above, there can be other grounds for refusal of a visa application. They are:
National security or public order protection
Public health protection, protection of rights and legal interests of Ukrainian citizens and other persons residing in Ukraine
Existing entry ban to Ukraine
Passport document is forged, corrupted or not conforming to the established model or belongs to another person Absent or invalid medical insurance.
The refusal decision will be informed to you through an official written communication (visa refusal letter) or email from the Ukrainian Embassy or Consulate in India and will include one or more of the possible reasons for denying a visa to Ukraine.
What if your visa application gets rejected?
If your student visa is rejected for any reason and there is still enough time to enroll in the selected university, you have the right to Ukraine visa refusal appeal. A visa appeal letter could take up to ten working days to be considered. In emergency situations, the visa may be issued the same day as the appeal letter is received. The review of the appeal may take longer in some cases, but not more than 30 days. But before that find out the cause(s) of your visa rejection. You should investigate the grounds for refusal. Read and comprehend the points raised by the visa officer at the embassy in the visa refusal letter. Typically, the explanations are broad and simple to comprehend. If you are having trouble understanding the reason for the visa refusal, you can ask the immigration officer to explain the issues in further detail in the visa rejection letter.
How does the Ukraine visa rejection appeal procedure work?
In order to appeal a visa refusal, you must write an appeal letter to the Embassy or Consulate that issued the previous refusal. The appeal letter is a legal document that must be written in line with the laws and terms of Ukrainian law.The right to appeal is free of charge. It is better if you submit the appeal in person directly to the visa centers, Consulate, or Embassy of Ukraine in India.Appeal for the visa only if the difficulties are rectified and you are able to submit new evidence to address the reasons for the visa’s earlier denial. Otherwise, there’s a good chance that the visa will be denied again. Reposted from: europeaneducationconsultancy.com Original Source Link:  Ukraine student visa got rejected? If you are looking for a fulfilling career in medical, technology, or aviation, the best thing you should do is opt for globally acknowledged degrees in your chosen field. Ukraine has long been known for its excellence in education and research, which was further accentuated after it became a member country of EHEA (European Higher Education Area ) and adopted the famous Bologna process in its education system.
But an important decision like studying in Ukraine requires much deliberation. Apart from the prime information such as the courses, accreditations, expenses, living cost, and accommodations, etc. There are many things that might come to your benefit if you knew them in advance before the application process. Transport, bus stops, underground crossings, cultural, sporting, and governmental enterprises, playgrounds, and parks are examples of public areas. Drink inside and keep your excesses to yourself.

Accommodations, food, and transport in Ukraine
The cost of living in a respective country generally includes the cost of accommodation, transport, food, etc.
As long as students stay in the hostels their boarding charges form the hostel charges. However, should there be any reason to leave the hostel, there are plenty of different types of accommodations available @$150 -$600, both in single occupancy and dormitory systems at rented flats or PG accommodations.Ukraine has a very good transportation system that allows students to travel all over the country. While long-distance travel can be accomplished by buses, trains, and flights, for local transport one can avail buses, taxis, trams, trolleybuses, metro rail, etc in the city.Ukraine has a rich variety of farm and dairy products with diverse cooking traditions. Plenty of different types of foods are available in the shops, supermarkets, and agricultural markets at affordable prices. For more information on the cost of living in Ukraine click here-

How is the climate in Ukraine?
In most parts of Ukraine, the continental climate persists throughout the year, with freezing winters and reasonably warm summers. Cities like Lviv, Kyiv, Kharkiv, etc, will be pretty cold in the winter. As you move towards the south, you’ll find the weather progressively becoming warmer. The southern region, especially along the coast of the Black Sea, has milder weather in winter. So Odessa offers a comparatively warmer winter.

Ukraine, one of the biggest countries in Europe, with its amazing rivers, mountains, forests, farmlands, beautiful architecture, and beautiful cities dotted with incredible overnight trains, castles, churches and monuments, historic cities, and of course the Black sea, is a storehouse of splendors.
Every year a large number of foreign students enrolled in various universities in Ukraine for higher studies. During their study program, many students set out to explore the country on holidays as they find traveling is the best thing to do in Ukraine. Friendly people, good transports, accommodation options, and moderate cost are some of the factors that encourage foreign students to take up such tours in the largest countries of western Europe. Another big support comes from the Govt. of Ukraine itself in the form of travel concessions — for traveling around the country, the students are given a 50% discount on the train and bus fares.
But a word of caution: some parts on the western border of Ukraine are under the control of pro-Russian separatists While tourists are unlikely to be the intended targets of violence, government services (police, hospitals, firefighters) are not available in these areas.
There are many pretty places spread all over Ukraine with stunning architecture. Here is a list of some of the best places to travel in Ukraine, located in the leading cities.
Kyiv
Or Kyiv as called by the native Ukrainians is the capital of Ukraine and one of the most prominent cities in eastern Europe. Spread over both sides of the river Dnieper, Kyiv offers sights of superb churches with golden domes, eclectic architectures, centuries-old history, and non-stop city life.
Among its many notable tourist spots are the two UNESCO World Heritage sites — Kyiv Pechersk Lavra (Monastery of the Caves) and St. Sophia Cathedral.
But young students, if you prefer the hustle and bustle of the city you should come to Independence Square, the beautiful central square that holds parades, concerts, fairs all day long. Then there is the Bessarabsky Market, an indoor market located in the center of Kiev on the Bessarabska Square
Odessa
The charming port city on the shore of the Black Sea attracts scores of tourists with its sandy beaches, sparkling warm waters, and attractive weather around the year. But if you are the type who would love to wander into the unknown, this historical city will give you an intimate feel with its narrow winding streets and plenty of secluded churches.
Some of the other sites in Odessa are the famous Potemkin Stairs, Deribasivska street, Privoz market. The classic film Battleship Potemkin was produced in Odessa based on the mutiny during the revolution in 1905. Thus Potemkin Stairs, the giant steps coming into the city from the direction of the sea, is considered the best symbol of Odessa.
Lviv
Known as the cultural capital of Ukraine, Lviv has the look and feel of other famous European cities with the most number of western architecture of all the Ukrainian cities. With its vibrant city life and a wide variety of themed restaurants, Lviv attracts a great number of student tourists. There is a splendid UNESCO — protected heritage site of an old town with relics of magnificent churches, museums, and picturesque narrow streets.
Other top sites in Lviv include Rynok Square, National Art Gallery, National Academic Opera, St. George’s Cathedral, and so on. Lviv is cozy and welcoming, an all-time popular weekend site for those who would love to take in the old town vibes.
Kharkiv
Presently the 2nd city and earlier the capital of Ukraine, Kharkiv has always had the reputation of a major manufacturing and commercial hub. With its many museums, cultural centers, and thriving restaurants Kharkiv is known to be a city of students.
The best places to visit in Kharkiv include Freedom Square, Maxim Gorky park, Annunciation Cathedral, Derzhprom building, Kharkiv Historical Museum, to name a few.
Freedom Square is one of the largest city squares in Europe. During the Soviet era, there was a statue of Lenin in Freedom Square, which was torn down by protesters in 2014. To the west of Freedom Square is the Constructivist Derzhprom complex which is an architectural wonder. With its 45000 windows and 17000 hectares of glazing, this building, built in 1920, remained the largest building in the world for a long time.
If you have any questions regarding the cost of living in Ukraine, fee structure of universities, hostel feel, eligibility criteria, travel health insurance, admissions form, or visa application form for studying in Ukraine, feel free to get in touch with our experienced staff to guide you with any queries you might have regarding study & work in Ukraine.

Advantages and Disadvantages of doing MBBS in Ukraine
Tumblr media
The fateful year of 2020-21 has just been over and the world is gearing up to face some uphill economic challenges created by the pandemic. As the countries are struggling to navigate through the tumultuous situations, the education sector, one of the worst-hit areas is clawing back to normalcy by setting new priorities and standards for the students. One full year got wasted from the lives of the students, especially affecting those who couldn’t pursue their higher study due to lockdown and now are under pressure to find a rewarding career option that will help them make up for the loss, as much as possible.Studying MBBS is an all-time best career option, even more so post COVID-19.Medical studies, MBBS, and higher degrees are acknowledged as one of the most respected professions in any society in the world, and one of the most rewarding too. There is always a high demand for good doctors who can seek opportunities in the government and private hospitals besides opting for private practice. And the demand for doctors has never been greater, considering the restructuring of the healthcare systems in most countries post-COVID and the loss of lives of such a large number of COVID warriors.Although the number of MBBS aspirants in India is huge, the number of seats available is very low. A recent study shows while the no. of aspirants is upwards of 17 Lakh, the total no. of seats is barely 83000, including the govt. and private medical colleges. This is what causes a large number of students to travel to other countries to study medicine every year (especially Ukraine).
Studying medicine in Ukraine
Ukraine, for decades now, has established itself as a popular destination for Indian students when it comes to studying medicine in foreign universities. Ukraine, the second-largest country in Europe, has been at the forefront of medical and technological studies and researches, which was further reinforced by its integration into a European higher education system by joining the Bologna process in 2005.With many of its advanced and renowned universities offering internationally recognized medical and technological courses to thousands of foreign students, Ukraine stands out with some clear-cut benefits in terms of standard of living, quality learning (low tuition fees), high teaching quality, and good career support.Let’s look at some of the pros and cons of studying MBBS in Ukraine:
Pros
No entrance exam – No need to appear for the entrance exam. The students need to have passed the minimum 10+2 standard with 50% marks in the PCB combination. The age limit for admission is 24 years.
Lower cost of fees – No donation or capitation fees, low cost of education in most medical universities due to high subsidy by the Ukraine govt.
Quality education – Internationally accredited courses with English medium of instruction and a substantial amount of practical training.
English medium instruction – This helps international students, especially from the Indian subcontinent.
Bilateral student exchange programs – Student exchange programs that allow students to study and work in Ukraine with partner establishments or universities within the European Union or outside it.
Summer jobs training vacations – Internship opportunities in countries like the UK, Sweden, etc.
Participation in Seminars – Opportunities to participate in Seminars/Symposia/Project Works in other European countries.
Visiting professors – Education enrichment through visiting professors from countries like the US, Canada, UK, Europe, India.
Chances of settling in a foreign country – A rewarding medical career can be pursued anywhere in the world with more chances of settling in the European country.
Safe and Secure – Peaceful environment with social harmony
Cons
MCI Screening Test – As per the ruling of the Medical Council Of India (MCI) an Indian student after obtaining a foreign degree in medicine, has to clear a licensing exam conducted by the MCI, once they decide to return and practice in India as a doctor. This applies to all students with MBBS from any foreign university returning to India and is not specifically meant for the students studying MBBS in Ukraine. However, the universities in Ukraine provide special coaching to Indian students, which they find very helpful to clear the MCI test easily.
Language barrier – Ukrainian and Russian languages are predominant in Ukraine, but that has got nothing to do with the courses offered by the Ukrainian universities to English-speaking foreign students. The Indian students can choose English as their language for instructions and all other correspondences. However, if a student decides to settle in Ukraine after the study program then it’s helpful to learn the local language for better communication with the native people.
Culture – Cultural change is a given when migrating from one country to another and it takes time to adapt to the new culture and way of life. However, people are very friendly and welcoming in Ukraine making the stay very comfortable.
Weather – The weather in Ukraine is generally colder than in India, and it can take a while to get adapted to it. However, all hostels and universities are equipped with warming equipment making sure that the weather does not hamper the student’s stay or studies in Ukraine.
Indian Food – Another thing that most students complain about is the lack of Indian food venues in Ukraine. However, that is changing very fast as the number of Indian students grows year on year. Hostels also provide separate kitchens where students can cook their food with other students. Indian mess is also there near the hostel itself. We answered the most important questions about studying in Ukraine
Tumblr media
A huge number of Indian students fly abroad every year on student visas, and a big chunk of it heads for Ukraine. Internationally, India is the 2nd biggest source of students enrolling in foreign universities, riding the wave of global aspirations of its students from an increasing number of middle-income families.
Ukraine, for many years now, considered to be a popular international higher study destination for Indian students. In this article, we’ll address a few important questions regarding studying in Ukraine that’ll give an insight into why Indian students are increasingly deciding in favor of Ukraine.
We have answered key questions foreign students might have regarding Ukraine student visa-
1 — Is Ukraine a good place to study?
Ukraine has distinguished track records in terms of quality Higher Education Institutions, effective teaching methods, and internationally recognized scientific achievements. The strength of Ukraine’s higher education system lies in its conformity to European Higher Education standards.
Ukraine is a member country of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), which is a group of 49 countries and the European Commission that has formed the famous Bologna process to ensure uniform academic degree standards and quality assurance standards through mutual cooperation and exchange programs.
As part of the Bologna Process, the member countries of the EHEA follow the three cycles of a higher education system that lead to Bachelor’s degree program in the 1st cycle, Master’s degrees in the 2nd cycle, and Doctoral degrees in the 3rd. The post-Graduate program combines Masters and Doctorate courses and is backed by a higher level of professional training, both in the specific discipline and in inter-disciplinary areas (applicable in the Master’s courses) that improves competencies in a professional or academic field.
Another great aspect that makes higher study programs in the EHEA system unique and rewarding is the introduction of ECTS credit points (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System): By this standard, one course or module is worth the same at any university across the EHEA, and students can study and live in different European nations during their study period of time.
2 — Are the degrees from Ukrainian universities accepted in other countries?
Ukrainian degrees are recognized globally (even by UNESCO, WHO, European Association of Universities, and European Union) and accepted as equal with degrees of other EHEA countries such as Germany, France, Netherlands, Norway, Finland, to name a few.
Many of the medical universities in Ukraine are also approved by the MCI (Medical Council Of India), which means that Indian students after obtaining MBBS from an MCI approved university in Ukraine may choose to come back and make their careers in India, although this requires them to appear at a screening test.
3 — What is the average cost of higher education in Ukraine?
The cost of higher education in Ukraine is significantly lower than in most other European countries. Let’s take a glance at the tuition fees for the non-EU/EEA students in some of the EU and EHEA countries to prove this point.
Foreign students from countries outside the European Union/ European Economic Area are called Non-EU/EEA students (Indian students to be treated as non-EU/EEA students), who have to pay at the below-mentioned rates during their educational period.
5000–30000 Euro/yearBachelor’s programs in France6500–26000 Euro/yearBachelor’s programs in Germany6000–15000 Euro/yearBachelor’s programs in Austria5000–13000 Euro/yearBachelor’s programs in Finland1000–4500 Euro/yearBachelor’s programs in Ukraine
Let alone the other European countries, studying in the Ukrainian universities has a cost advantage over many Indian institutes as well.
4 — What are the different types of student accommodations in Ukraine provided by the Educational institution?
The universities in Ukraine in general offer hostel accommodations to Indian students. The living costs include rent for a hostel room can vary between $40 and $100. The room can be shared between 2 or 3 students.
Though living in a university hostel is the best option for Indian students, especially in the 1st year due to convenience and safety reasons, they can choose to rent a private apartment outside the campus from the second year onwards.
There are multiple types of private accommodations to choose from, the price of which depends on factors such as district, number of rooms, and facilities such as water, heating, gas, electricity, and the Internet. The annual rent for a private apartment in Kyiv may be between $650 and $5550, depending on the facilities and features.
Also, there is the option to stay with a family as a paying guest, which may cost between $150 and $650 per person.
5 — Work and study opportunities
Work and study in Ukraine for international students is allowed by the Ukraine labor laws. If you have a work permit in Ukraine as an international student you can opt for some part-time jobs, for a maximum of 40 hrs. a week.
The work permit can be easily obtained by an international student because what is necessary to have the work permit is the ‘’temporary residence permit’’ which every international student usually gets by default with a study permit. However, it must be noted that only an employer can file for a work permit on behalf of the student.
There are plenty of semi-skilled and unskilled part-time jobs available in Ukraine that may be of some help to the international students to pay off their cost of electricity, daily rent, hostel fees, extra expenses and also earn valuable experiences besides having opportunities to mingle with the community, language, and culture.
6 — Student visa
An essential part of the whole process of ‘Studying in Ukraine’ for Indian students is obtaining the ‘Ukraine student visa.’ This is a non-immigrant long-term visa issued by the embassy of Ukraine in India that allows Indian students to pursue their education in Ukraine. You must receive your student visa before you travel to Ukraine for your higher education from the top highest-ranked university.
But is it difficult to get a student visa for Ukraine?
It’s rather on the contrary. The process & visa requirements of student visa for study in a Ukrainian university has been made convenient and straightforward by the Govt. of Ukraine in comparison to other western countries. As per an article published in March 2020 Ukraine study visa success rate is 59.70% and the Ukraine student visa refusal rate is 40.83%. The main cause for the refusal rate can be attributed to a lack of proper documentation like a birth certificate, degree certificates, and good financial status.
The steps involved in acquiring a student visa for Ukraine are:
Select your preferred university in Ukraine and submit the necessary documents over the Internet to receive the “Invitation to Study.”
Apply within 180 days from the date of issuance of the “Invitation to Study” for a student visa type D to the Ukraine Visa Application Center in your nearest metro city in India with a unified fee for the entire processing along with the consular Interview.
Appear for the consular interview. Visit this blog for sample consular interview questions or Ukraine student visa interview questions.
The Govt. of Ukraine has made the dispatching of visas much faster now, within 10 days, which was a minimum of 30 days initially.
The unified fee for the entire process of Visa has also been reduced, much to the relief of the students.
There can be many other questions that may come upon the minds of students and their parents about studying in Ukraine. At EEC we welcome students’ queries and publish relevant content to satisfy their concerns.
