Found across Europe and parts of Asia, this dragonfly adapts to various habitats, from peaceful ponds to slow rivers.

With its warm reddish-brown color and distinctive leg markings, the Common Darter is a true gem to spot in the wild.

Unlike many dragonflies, the Common Darter stays active into late autumn, often flying until the first frost! ❄️

It has more wings than can be clearly distinguished on my sketch but it flies so fast that parts of wings looked almost as invisible

Did you know? 🍐 The pear, scientifically known as Pyrus, has been cultivated for over 3,000 years! There are two main species: the soft European Pyrus communis and the crisp Asian Pyrus pyrifolia.

Most pear trees are clones of ancient varieties, and some can live for over a century. Interestingly, pears ripen best off the tree, becoming juicier and more flavorful after being picked!
