Back before I even knew what non binary meant (maybe 2014?) my friend joined this über woke club and there was one guy who would not stop insulting her, belittling her in person and via text message, sure enough he was non binary and INSISTED people alternate between feminine and masculine pronouns. Like you constantly had to keep track of what pronoun you last used to refer to him. My friend actually went along with it and tried to find excuses for his behavior while he was literally insulting her regularly for no reason.

should i just make a sideblog for this shit at this point? i cant stop finding them.

It used to be "You're okay just the way you are" and now it's "If you don't like something about yourself, you can change it!" and we have plastic surgery culture and thousands of young people transitioning. Not to have a small brain moment but isn't it really that simple. I never felt pressure to change anything about my face but suddenly plastic surgery procedures were open to everyone, it wasn't just 50 year old celebrities getting a face lift anymore, it was girls at school getting nose jobs and everyone on IG getting lip fillers, and the minute I realized that I COULD change my "imperfections" and others similar to me WERE actually doing it I became obsessed with everything I felt was "wrong" with me. Self acceptance is so much more fulfilling
