And the answer is sort of! Thanks for participating!

Historically, Cairo Day has taken place during the week of April 14th. This is a busy time of year for students, teachers, travelers, people submitting abstracts to professional conferences etc. But we like tradition. And we like acknowledging our fandom history. And we are excited for any opportunity to see new fanworks. So we did a little mini Cairo Day this week and in the midst of that asked all you lovely folks to submit and vote on prompts for Cairo Week June (name subject to change).

Sharpen your pencils. Open your laptops. And we'll see you in June!

How did you discover MacGyver (2016)? What is the first episode that you remember watching? Which episode made you decide to move in?

I started working on what I thought was going to be a 500 word flashfic for today's Cairo Day "deep breath" prompt, but it got a little out of control. I have to run some errands, but I'll get it finished today.

In the meantime, here's a sneak peek:

"Angus!" Jack shouted.  "Stop!  Be still dammit!"

His body tired out before his will to get up and run away did, which left his limbs twitchy and his chest heaving, but he was still.

Jack moved from where he'd been sitting beside Mac to kneeling above his head.  He shifted his grip as well, getting a better hold on Mac's head and neck.  Now, Mac was looking at an upside down Jack face, and he closed his eyes when that nauseated him.

"Eyes open," Jack said.  "Take some deep breaths for me."

Mac opened his eyes and looked anywhere but Jack's face.  His eyes roamed around the edges of his vision, taking in the forest around them.  There was smoke coming from something to their right, but he couldn't remember what it was.  

"Smoke?  Fire?"  Mac rasped.  He was pretty sure he raised his right hand and pointed in that direction, but he couldn't see it to be sure.

"Yeah, don't worry about that right now."  Jack's eyes darted in that direction but quickly refocused on Mac.  "You with me?"

Mac tried to nod, but Jack's hold was firm.

There are some episodes that understandably get all the attention, episodes like 1x08 Corkscrew or 2x12 Mac + Jack come to mind. What episode is your favorite "underrated" episode? Tell us about why you love it!

*underrated can be defined however you want. Do you wish more people talked about it or wrote fic about it? Wish it had more screencaps and gifs? Did it get prematurely voted out of the "MacGyver Brackets" last summer?

Traditionally, the MacGyver 2016 fandom celebrates Cairo Day the week of April 14th to coincide with the airdate of the season one finale. After discussion and hearing some feedback, mid-April is not an optimum time for the fandom. This year, Cairo Week will take place June 23rd-29th with brand new prompts submitted by you through this survey Prompt Submissions. The form will be open through Saturday April 12th with voting to follow.

However, we didn't want to totally ignore our fandom history. Watch this space next week for polls, questions, and yes we did share a few bonus prompts for those overachievers who want to take a crack of them.
