New ePawn Arena Connects with Smartphones, Tablets and PCs To Bring Touch to Gaming.

At this year’s CES, French startup ePawn will showcase ePawn Arena, a revolutionary yet affordable 26-inch horizontal screen that interfaces with smartphones, tablets and PCs to allow gamers to use real world game pieces with their online and mobile games.

Leveraging ePawn’s patented real-time object-tracking technology, ePawn Arena bridges real- and virtual-gaming by bringing back the simple thrill of real touch feeling. ePawn’s software development kit (SDK) also makes it easy for game developers to integrate ePawn Arena into both new and existing games.

Device- and platform-agnostic ePawn Arena can be seamlessly and easily connected to any smartphone, PC, tablet, gaming console or laptop, allowing several players to play simultaneously together.

“ePawn Arena’s unique capabilities take the gaming experience to a whole new level of fun and creativity”, said Christophe Duteil, co-founder and CEO of ePawn. “Additionally, we are currently working with content providers and device manufacturers to create the best possible user experience.”

ePawn will showcase the ePawn Arena at the Spiel 2011 exposition from October 20th to October 23rd, in Essen, Germany.

Inventorium, the last production from FunForge Digital presented in avant-premiere during the Spiel 2011 exposition will be available for 2 players on the iPad and for 4 players on the ePawn Arena.

Gamers and Spiel 2011 attendees are invited to stop by the FunForge/ePawn booth (#9-38, Hall 9) to see and play Inventorium and discover a brand new gaming experience where real-world objects interact with virtual environments.
