I've experienced a lot of the second (though as just a "younger employee")

A male coworker in his 60s once shared a photo of his friend who resembles a famous actor. He added, unprompted, that his daughter used to date this friend of his... when she was 16 and he was in his 30s!!!! But "it's ok because he's a family friend!"

Another male coworker immediately started telling me his life story after a call on which he introduced himself as a joiner to my project. Stuff about his parents divorce, his grandma's death, his favourite juicer... He sent me some of his medical tests...messaging me everyday 20-30 times
