Fact-folks, you are not harming your source by writing RPF (Real Person Fiction) of yourselves and your sourcemates.

Fact-folks meaning: factives, factual introjects, factkin/factualkins, fact DAs, fact endels, factchains, facthearted/synpaths, factlinks, and others I haven't mentioned,

Yes, (general we) we know that public figures are often uncomfortable with RPF. That is why RPF writers, whether or not they have a fact-identity, should not show it to them directly.

But writing it in the peace of your own devices or books? Posting it to AO3 or not at all? That's not hurting them. It's also not "causing alterhumans to be invalidated" or "reducing real people into fiction". Biopic writers, biographers, gossip tabloids, etc. do it all the time, sometimes full of misinformation, even, and they have a much wider reach than fanfic-style RPF.

It's okay to write down your own experiences and/or (exo)memories in narrative form, even if it seems like fiction to others, even if others can't accept it. Yes, even if your gender and orientation is different, yes, even if you're partnered with a different person, or died earlier, or any other canon divergence.

Writing RPF (even if you're canon divergent!) does not invalidate your identity. It's not inherently harmful. You don't deserve to be harassed for that.

rpf writers are truly tha most talented bitches around.

the "source material" is scattered social media posts, niche interviews from four years ago, features on some Youtuber's side channel and the openly-disclaimered acceptance that writing "in character" can only ever be an extrapolation of a public persona.

to be a public figure itself is a kind of fiction. the glimpses we see and come to "know" are half-truths built on versions of people who may exist only in the time capsule of that interview or scrap of content.

and yet, you get writers churning out the most devastating, highly specific, detailed love letters to the theorized inner emotional lives of real actual people who exist and yet definitely never exactly the way those writers imagine it. but the intimate effort expended to try to recreate even a refracted glimpse of who they might be is truly so admirable. it's next level. it takes such care and affection to rebuild the factual scraps of someone's life into a fictional mosaic purely for the joy of it.

and then doing all of that to write two homies boinking it sloppy style... incredible

Ok, so instead of writing today, I did this!

They were a little small to be on their own (the stitching looks nicer with more pages :P)

So I combined @imposterzoe "She knows" series with @enbyman "Like oil and water (Is it really like that?" And then added "Temptation" and "Equilibrium" by each respective author.

Why? Cause I like those fics and because I could!! So, yeah! Not really on theme, but whatever!

CW: Pet grief.

So.....my dog died. I had once mentioned that she had an incurable disease and that euthanasia was probably the only option. I didn't expect it to be so soon, so fast, and so immediate, but she was suffering a lot. There really was no other option.

I feel.....numb, I guess? I was kind of already prepared and I had already shed tears before it happened, so it's kind of not a shock or anything now. Besides the numbness, I only feel slight twinges of pain every now and then, every time I remember that an essential part of my routine is no longer with us......it's complicated and difficult to digest, and the worst part is that I don't even feel like I can grieve properly, because people don't understand that the death of a pet can stop our world. I don't want to leave home. I don't want to go to college. I don't want to continue my week. I just want time to learn how to exist without her in my life.
