RokuShi Week 2025: Day 7 - Free Day

“That was so pretty.” She said, leaning against the railing. She sighed again as silence filled the ballroom. “I guess we should get going, huh?”

Her gaze turned back to Roxas, who was still eying her with that deeply thoughtful look he gave her quite often. Xion didn’t know what emotion (or rather, memory of emotion, since they couldn’t feel) was behind such an expression, but it had never really bothered her.

“We don’t have to, yet.” Roxas suggested simply. Xion furrowed her brows at him. 

“We filled the quota bar all the way.” She reminded him. “There’s nothing left to do today.”

“I know, but Axel’s solo today in Agrabah, which means he’s gonna take awhile. While we wait, do you wanna dance with me?” His eyes were hopeful as he asked.

“What?” Xion blinked. Out of all the things she might’ve expected him to say, that was not one of them.

He is here, he is among this landscape of blankness and she needs to get to him.

She can’t see beyond the glass, can’t hear beyond the silence and though it frustrates her, it must be for the better.

She is still nothing after all and Roxas doesn’t deserve to be nothing. She died so he would never be nothing.

She can’t get to him, but he is safe. She knows.

The sounds of cheering floated up faintly from the ground below seconds before explosions of color lit up the sky followed by hearty booms. Roxas’ heart hammered in his chest as loudly as the fireworks.

“Here we go.” Xion smiled as she watched the colorful display. “So pretty.”

Roxas turned his head to watch the light from the fireworks reflect in her eyes, like it was far more breathtaking to witness it that way. 

Her gaze flickered over to him and her smile widened. She leaned in to kiss him sweetly.

“I love you.” She whispered. 

“I love you, too.” He murmured. His hand lightly trembled as he checked his pocket once more. The soft touch of the vellvette box grounded him.
