It's Dadmark + Sonland time!

Before the headcanons, just a quick commentary on their relationship according to my AU.

Iceland is 100% without a doubt Denmark's favourite. Denmark recognises that his role as the leader of the Nordics means that playing favourites is probably a little risky, so he tries not to be too obvious about it.

Denmark really does try to not be obvious, but whenever anything happens it's painfully obvious that the first person he thinks of is Iceland.

Iceland is a teenager, so I really don't like the idea of him living alone. I know he has this whole 'independent adult' thing, but he's a kid. Usually, he stays with Norway, but sometimes he'll live with Denmark for a while which Denmark absolutely loves.

I'd like to think that he and Norway get into petty (and unserious) arguments over raising Iceland.

While Iceland does prefer living with Norway because it's a much more peaceful environment and he gets much more freedom, Denmark's place is a lot less stressful for him because he has much less responsibilities because he doesn't have to practically confiscate Norway's coffee when he tries to test his immortality by drinking like 20 cups a day.

Alright, that was a brief explanation, now let's get on with the headcanons!

-Denmark loves getting to teach Iceland things. He taught him how to ride a bike, he occasionally likes giving him cool chemistry lessons (Denmark absolutely loves science, particularly chemistry) and he teaches Iceland how to cook.

-Iceland loves coming to Denmark with good news because he always makes a big deal about it which Iceland secretly loves.

-Denmark is the best at breaking Iceland's whole 'I'm too old for ---' thing because he knows what will absolutely make him laugh like a child (for those who are curious here's a short list : prolonged, wide-eyed eye contact, tickling, horribly incorrect use of slang ex: 'that is very gyatt of you')

-Denmark and Iceland always wake up much earlier than anyone else, so they always get at least 3-4 hours of one on one time until the others wake up. Denmark loves using this time to take Iceland on fishing trips where he'll teach him good fishing tips as well as life lessons.

-Denmark feels especially guilty that Iceland spent a good chunk of time alone from birth until Norway found him, so he tries to make it up by babying him which Iceland is most accepting of when it's Denmark.

-Denmark refers to Iceland as his son whenever he's talking about him to a stranger or another nation. Iceland calls Denmark his dad whenever he talks about him. Neither of them is aware that the other does this, and they'd both absolutely melt if they found out.

-Denmark is unbelievably great at shutting down Iceland's self depreciation even if he puts it as a joke.

-no one can get Iceland in trouble if Denmark is around. You can't even so much as give this kid so much as a mildly mean comment without Denmark giving you a look that suggests that you keep it to yourself if you'd prefer to keep your head attached to your body. He is wildly protective of Iceland.

Tino honestly just strikes me as the type of person who loves sports so while he outwardly looks pretty unassuming I think he'd be decently built (+ I think a little on the chubbier side but that ones technically canon everyone just kinda forgets about it)

Human AU Nordics seeing Iceland get shot in his chest

YES! THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! Okay, just, warning, lots of blood, tiny bit of vomiting and a lot of grief.

Alright, let's get into this.

So, how and why Iceland gets shot in this situation is completely irrelevant.

This is human AU, so being honest, he'll most likely die.

So, just to put into perspective here, this is a 16 year old boy who just got shot. This isn't going to be a 'it's okay, I'm fine' type of moment. It's going to be a 'help me, I'm scared' moment.

Norway of course is immediately horrified by the sight of his little brother with blood coming out of both the wound and now his mouth thanks to all the internal bleeding.

He immediately rushes over to him and holds him in his arms to try to do anything to help.

Iceland is anything but calm. I really don't like it when people make scenarios like this where the child who was literally just shot is just so peaceful and calm. No, he's fucking panicking. He's begging Norway to help him because... Duh, he doesn't wanna fucking die. Norway is completely helpless and has no idea what to do, and he might start freaking out himself anytime soon, so he just starts shushing Iceland. He just cradles Iceland and tries to soothe him as much as he can. It's at this point that Iceland starts shivering, his voice gets much quieter and realistically he'll probably throw up.

Where are the others in all this? Well, Sweden is the only one who still hasn't just gone crazy, so he's likely trying to call an ambulance. Denmark literally can't breathe from the pain and just keeps trying to keep Iceland awake by talking to him which obviously and unfortunately doesn't work. Finland is just absolutely horrified and is just screaming his head off at the sight. Iceland eventually stops crying and just goes silent.

There are two ways this could go from here.

Either the ambulance finally gets there and Iceland is still miraculously alive. He gets taken to the hospital and survives, but he doesn't recover much because it's kind of hard to salvage the situation at that point.

Or, the more likely alternative, Iceland passes in Norway's arms, and Norway is left with having to deal with his 16 year old baby brother passing away. Norway literally can't even speak after that. It obviously traumatises the others. Denmark literally tries to shut himself away from life, Sweden tries to stay strong for his kids, but the pain is so unbearable that he spends half his nights upright in bed unable to sleep without seeing Iceland in that state. Finland can't even accept it and just operates like Iceland is still there.

They all eventually somewhat recover after at least a decade. That is, except Norway, who will literally never be the same again and still hasn't moved any of Iceland's things because every time he walks into his room, Iceland's presence is so strong that he can almost hear his voice again and it hurts more than anything because he will never get to hold him again. He'll never get to talk to him again, never get to argue with him over petty things, never get to hear his laugh again, and it just breaks him all over again.

He can't even move because literally everything he does triggers memories of the things Iceland would always say. He can't touch even touch the front door knob because every time he came to leave the house, Iceland would always tell him to be safe. He can't even touch coffee even though he loves it because Iceland would always jokingly scoff and say 'I don't drink that filth' and now it's just too painful for him to go near it.

At first, Norway tries to keep his grave well maintained, but it just hurt so much to be so close to Iceland, but so hopelessly far away and his efforts to maintain it would just devolve into him just screaming in pain until he loses his voice again.

Norway spends his days crying until he physically can't, screaming until he loses his voice, he physically can't do anything else.

Inevitably, he ends up finding the only part of Iceland he wanted so desperately to erase.

Mr. Puffin, who isn't magical, so he can't speak, but had found a way to be just as annoying.

Norway may not ever find who did this to Iceland, but he finally has someone to be mad at. He tries so desperately to shoo him away, but he stays regardless. This only adds to Norway's sense of hopelessness and he just goes right back to crying while screaming at him.

"There's nothing left for you here. He's gone. Everything is gone. Go away. I lost everything. My baby is gone."

His voice is of course not that loud as he had lost it to more screaming.

Mr. Puffin refuses to leave and eventually begins coaxing Norway into getting up and eating because he had barely eaten since Iceland passed.

Norway manages a small bit of bread before he just wants to collapse.

He walks into Iceland's room and drops himself into his bed and prays he might get to see him in his dreams.
