I think that’s kinda the point. There isn’t ever just one main character because they are a team. The most development that ever happens isn’t with just one character, it’s with how all the characters connect with one another.

To this day, I have no idea who the actual main character of Voltron: Legendary Defender is.

Should have been Keith, but he leaves and we don't follow him for a good number of episodes. Yeah, he comes back, but I have no idea what the writers wanted me to get out of him. He had the best fight of the show, season 6's The Black Paladins. But I still don't believe he's the MC. There's something telling me that it should be someone else.

Was it Shiro? He dies. Even then, there was an emphasis on Keith taking the role of leader if something bad happened to him.

Was it supposed to be Lance? He gets a lot of character development regarding his feelings towards Allura, his insecurities of being part of the team, and is technically the reason why the story even starts to begin with.

Is it Hunk-- No, unfortunately. Not enough screen time, not enough stories with his development in mind.

Is it Pidge? Maybe. She had a lot of development as a pilot and friend to the team. She had the best episodes of later seasons, and alongside Hunk, had the best epilogue scenario.

It is unfortunately not Coran.

Allura? I think there was a plan to make her the sole focus of the plot, but it didn't matter after a certain point.

Who is the main character of this show? My money is going towards Lance simply because of what the show gives me. However, I don't think it's supposed to be him.
