so...i've been obsessing over baldur's gate 3 lately and I just love Astarion sm :'> in my 3rd run, the backstory is my tav (durge), astarion, & wyll are in a love triangle lol

i have a headcanon of ascended astarion and tav refused to be his spawn and everything that happened until the wither's party. He's still obsessed with tav but pretends her leaving doesn't affect him. And tav devastated of what happened to the old astarion.

My hc is that maybe a year later, Wyll becomes a duke and there's a party at a palace to celebrate the occasion. The gang hasn't seen each other for a long time. Astarion looking forward to seeing tav most and making her see that he's fine without her and that she made the wrong choice andd making her jealous by bringing his pretend favorite spawn who is clinging to his arm at the moment.

Astarion sees Tav approaching, he smirks, brings his spawn with him to introduce to Tav but before he could utter a word, she just passed by them and went straight to Wyll.

Astarion sees them happily chatting, Tav's genuine smile he hasn't seen in a long time, the smile that was reserved only for him was now directed at Wyll.

He marched towards them, angry. Tav sensing a hostile aura, stepped in front of Wyll, stopping Astarion from reaching him. Her eyes were threatening.

So the gist is Tav used the Mirror of Loss to forget about being a bhaalspawn, the tadpole adventure, and Astarion. She asked their friends to not tell her the truth because she might get curious and eventually find out what happened and then she'll get hurt again. She wants a fresh start with everything.

Before the party, Wyll hired Tav to be his personal knight (Tav is a paladin before). In truth, Wyll can take care of himself just fine, he just want another chance with Tav since he believes Astarion is out of the picture.

I imagine Astarion will be fuming mad, his eyes piercing, bared fangs, itching to rip Wyll's throat
